Israeli reservist Malkia Gross, 25-years-old from the West Bank settlement of Susya, was killed in an operational accident in southern Gaza, the IDF announced on Saturday. Gross is the fourth soldier from Susya killed during the war.
Gross was a teacher and studied at Yeshivat Or Etzion. He is survived by his parents, Dov and Michal, and four brothers.

Released hostage Ilana Gritzewsky, the girlfriend of hostage Matan Zangauker, spoke at the rally in Tel Aviv calling for a hostage release deal and said, "My body is here, but my soul is still there. I've had enough! I feel betrayed by the government. Nobody bothered to call and ask me how I'm doing. Netanyahu said the protests make Hamas stronger, but they actually hurt Netanyahu himself."
Einav Zangauker, Matan's mother, said in a statement that "as long as Netanyahu feels stable in his seat, there won't be a deal, there won't be a solution to the situation in the north, and there won't be a solution for the country."
Zangauker continued, "Netanyahu fails and destroys with every minute that he is in charge, so the whole public must recruit urgently to dismantle Netanyahu and his government."
Later, in front of the Defense Ministry complex in central Tel Aviv, Zangauker spoke again, and said, "estimates suggest that only 50 hostages remain alive. Therefore, I want to address you, Mr. Prime Minister Netanyahu – I will personally ensure that you will be judged for every murder on October 7, and for every hostage who entered there alive and left dead."

In a rally calling for a hostage release deal at Hostages' Square in central Tel Aviv, the parents of captured IDF soldier Naama Levy, whose 20th birthday is today, spoke.
"Today, I don't want to give a speech at the square, I want to wish you a happy birthday, Naama… I wish and demand for you the most basic right - your freedom, the freedom that was taken from you 8.5 months ago," her mother said.
"I want to tell you, Mr. Prime Minister, victory isn't just on the battlefield, and it isn't keeping the government together at all costs," Levy's father said. "Victory is protecting the values of friendship, mutual responsibility, and the holy Jewish value – love your neighbor as yourself, always and unconditionally."
"I ask you, Prime Minister, on my daughter's 20th birthday, and I demand that you love your neighbor as yourself. Love my Naama as yourself. Look out for my daughter and all the hostages exactly how you love and look out for yourself. Bring my girl back home," Levy's father added.

IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Daniel Hagari raised a furor when he determined that the "idea of destroying Hamas is throwing sand in the face of the Israeli public." One can imagine that if Al-Sissi was listening, he would probably have murmured "I told you so." Hagari tried to explain that "Hamas is an idea, Hamas is a political party. It is rooted in the hearts of people – whoever thinks we can eliminate Hamas is mistaken. It's the Muslim Brotherhood, it has been around for many, many years."
But Hamas, like the Muslim Brotherhood, is not just an idea or an ideological movement that is impossible to uproot from people's hearts. These are organizations that have built apparatuses, trained manpower, mobilized activists, and created civilian infrastructure in places where the state was non-existent or which it had deliberately neglected.

RECAP: Thousands protest against gov't, for hostage deal across Israel; IDF assassinates Hamas operative in Lebanon
Here are the latest updates for day 260 of the Israel-Hamas war:
■ Tens of thousands of Israelis are protesting against the government, for a hostage release deal across Israel Saturday night.
■ The Israeli Air Force assassinated Ayman Ghatma, a Hamas operative in the terror organization's Muslim Brotherhood branch in Lebanon, according to the IDF.
■ The IDF attempted to assassinate a senior Hamas official in the Gaza City area, and the strike's outcome is yet to be confirmed.
■ The Hamas information office said that at least 42 people were killed in two attacks near Gaza City.
■ According to reports in Gaza, there were a large number of casualties in Israeli Air Force attacks in the Al-Shati refugee camp.
■ According to a defense official, there is growing suspicion that the shooting carried out in the West Bank city of Qalqilyah on Saturday was a terror attack.
■ The IDF said two anti-tank missiles were fired at north Israel's Metula, sparking fires; the army said it was responding with artillery fire at the launch sites.
■ Yemen's Houthis claimed an attack on a U.S. carrier in the Red Sea, as well as another vessel in the Arabian Sea.

Houthis claim attack on U.S. carrier in Red Sea, another vessel in Arabian Sea
The Yemeni Houthi group said on Saturday its forces had attacked the U.S. aircraft carrier Eisenhower in the Red Sea and the Transworld Navigator ship in the Arabian Sea. It did not say when the attacks took place.
A Houthi statement said the Transworld Navigator took a direct hit from a missile. The operation against the Eisenhower had achieved its objectives successfully, it said, without elaborating.
