Police intimidation prevents Ramasamy from holding political movement debut at Temple of Fine Arts

Letter to editor
OUR reservation to hold the inaugural Urimai (Political Force of the Voiceless) meeting tomorrow (Nov 26) from 3pm to 6pm at the Kanagasabai Hall of the Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur was cancelled at the last moment by the management of the said establishment.
TFA chairman Dr M. Paranjothi informed my colleague Satees Muniandy that he had no choice but to cancel our reservation because of pressure from the police special branch.
He was afraid that the government funding for the Temple of Fine Arts would be affected if the meeting was allowed.

Since we had no choice, we had to change the venue to Bangunan Mariamman in Jalan Hang Kasturi, Kuala Lumpur from 4pm to 7pm on the same day (Nov 26).
Is the Madani government afraid of a simple gathering to discuss the rights of Indians?
I apologise for the inconvenience caused. – Nov 25, 2023

The Temple of Fine Arts is a non-political organisation dedicated to promoting traditional performing arts , especially Indian cultural performing arts in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteRamasamy should not damage it's decades of respected apolitical standing by using it as the venue for a political stun.
