PSD hits back, says allegations against its DG unfounded, ill-intended
They are malicious, intending to damage his image as high-ranking government official, dept says
KUALA LUMPUR – The Public Services Department (PSD) has called out the immigration authorities over the various statements issued by its union and related association via social media accusing its director-general (DG) Datuk Seri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah of allegedly admonishing an immigration officer at an airport counter, yesterday morning.
In a statement today, PSD stated that it views the matter seriously and stressed that all allegations against its DG are baseless, ill-intended, and malicious with a view to damage his image as a high-ranking government official.
For the record, the DG had pointed out to the immigration personnel at KLIA, specifically at James Lee, over the non-compliance of the standard operating procedure whereby the officer failed to check his travel documents and passport as well as those travelling with his delegation. – The Vibes, August 4, 2022
