Malaysiakini:
Hanipa wants Perak exco charged in court like other M'sians
CORONAVIRUS | Former deputy minister in charge of law Hanipa Maidin said Perak executive councillor Razman Zakaria should be charged in court over the alleged breach of the movement control order (MCO).
The Sepang MP made the call in a posting on his Facebook page today, despite the Gunung Semanggol assemblyperson having earlier apologised for the purported MCO violation.
Hanipa (above) said the apology is not enough when compared to the punishment meted out to other people hauled to court over MCO violations.
“In law, an apology does not fortify (kebalkan) you from prosecution, yes? If so, all the people who have been detained and charged can also merely apologise, after that it is settled. Banyak cantik!” Hanipa wrote on his FB posting.
“In fact, asking for an apology makes it easier for the work of prosecutors to prosecute. It is called a confession. Do not let it be that when charged, don't want to plead guilty,” he added.
Earlier today, it was reported that Razman (photo) apologised to all Malaysians over an event that involved a group of people, including Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, who was pictured having a meal together in Lenggong, Perak, in an apparent violation of MCO.

The pictures went viral on social media yesterday, which purportedly depicted Razman, Noor Azmi and several other individuals attending a jamuan (meal) at a Maahad Tahfiz at Lenggong while the MCO was in force to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
Aside from Razman and Noor Azmi, other pictures of purported MCO violation that went viral included those allegedly showing Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar visiting former state menteri besar Ahmad Said at the latter’s residence at Teluk Kalong, Kemaman.

As of press time, Malaysiakini is still trying to get a response from Noor Azmi over the matter.
