Has AG Tommy Thomas already made up his mind on Azilah Hadri's SD?

FMT:

AG to look into reopening Altantuya case as Najib vows innocence

Attorney-General Tommy Thomas

KUALA LUMPUR: Attorney-General Tommy Thomas will look into reopening the case of a murdered Mongolian woman allegedly linked to former prime minister Najib Razak, as the victim’s father says he’s pinning his hopes on the country’s new government to find justice.

Two former police guards for Najib had been convicted of the 2006 murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

“Everybody knew that it just did not make sense for the two of them to be solely culpable,” Thomas said in a Friday interview. “So we knew that the story was incomplete.”

The courts that sentenced the two men to death had grappled with their lack of motive, while Azilah Hadri’s recent statement indicates there may in fact be a reason for the murder, Thomas said.

“It’s more for the police to investigate and we will look into it,” he said, when asked if he will reopen the case.

Azilah is seeking a retrial after penning a sworn statement accusing the former prime minister of ordering him to covertly arrest and destroy her because she was a foreign spy and a threat to national security.

Najib has denied any involvement. On Friday, he made a religious oath that he didn’t give the order and had never met her.

Death penalty

The prosecutor’s stance will be a relief to Shaariibuu Setev, who has spent more than a decade seeking closure over his daughter’s death.

He is campaigning for Malaysia to commute the men’s sentences via a plea deal so that Australia, where one of the men had fled to seek asylum from the death penalty, will agree to bring them together to tell what he says could be the true story behind the murder.

Shaariibuu said he doesn’t wish the death penalty on them. “Executing these officers is an awkward way to eliminate evidence,” he said in an interview in Ulaanbaatar on Oct 3.

It's quite expected for many Malaysians to have a pre-formed impression that 'someone' (presumably either Najib, wakakaka, or at least Razak Baginda) to be the person with the 'motive' behind Altantuyaa's murder.

Indeed, the famous British crime author, P.D. James, who served for thirty years in various departments of the British Civil Service, including the Police and Criminal Law Department of Great Britain's Home Office, as well as a magistrate and as a governor of the BBC, wrote in her book The Murder Room that “All the motives for murder are covered by four Ls: Love, Lust, Lucre and Loathing.”

Let's take the tragic case of Canny Ong, a beautiful woman who returned on a holiday to Malaysia from the USA where she was working with her husband.

She was seen by a man named Ahmad Najib Aris in a shopping mall in 2003, a man whom she had never ever met in her short sad life until that fateful night in a shopping centre. Ahmad Najib Aris murdered Canny Ong and then burnt her body in an attempt to mask the rape of the unfortunate woman.

Star Online even reported that: The randomness of the crime – Ahmad Najib had no apparent motive – made it all the more horrific and prompted many unsolicited and baseless conspiracy theories much to the dismay of Ong’s loved ones.

Wait - no offence to the late Canny Ong's family but I need to pose a cynical question-point - maybe then-Defence Minister Najib Razak (remember, this was in 2003) was the person who provided the motive to murder Canny Ong?

And why not?

Well, for the murder of Canny Ong, the court convicted and sentenced Ahmad Najib Aris to death saying the guilty man was motivated by lust, which saw him raping her before killing and attempting to get rid of her body through burning the corpse to hide his crime.

British crime author P.D. James was right (she died in 2014) that “All the motives for murder are covered by four Ls: Love, Lust, Lucre and Loathing”, where obviously in Ahmad Najib Aris' case, it was "lust".

lust

Now, what was it that AG Tommy Thomas said?

“Everybody knew that it just did not make sense for the two of them to be solely culpable,” Thomas said in a Friday interview. “So we knew that the story was incomplete.”

Maybe Tommy Thomas, even though a Malaysian, haven't heard of the infamous murder case of Canny Ong, though it seems he has already believed that 'Someone' must be involved in Altantuyaa's murder when he said:
“Everybody knew that it just did not make sense for the two of them to be solely culpable. So we knew that the story was incomplete.”

I wish Tommy Thomas could re-visit the Canny Ong's case to investigate into the "incomplete story" of poor Ahmad Najib Aris murdering Canny but who as the Star Online reported: Ahmad Najib had no apparent motive.

Canny Ong

But poor Ahmad Najib was already hung in 2016, so there's more reason (and cause) for Malaysia NOT to have capital punishment, because with an indomitable AG Tommy Thomas and police re-investigating the Canny Ong murder, Ahmad Najib Aris could have been spared the gallows as being just a puppet for 'someone' like, hmmm, Najib Razak?

Yes, “Everybody knew that it just did not make sense for Ahmad Najib Aris to be solely culpable for the murder of Canny Ong. So we knew that the story was incomplete.”

I recall when the Star Online published the news:

The randomness of the crime – Ahmad Najib had no apparent motive – made it all the more horrific and prompted many unsolicited and baseless conspiracy theories much to the dismay of Ong’s loved ones ...

I was monitoring the news and some blogs to see what they would say about the nonsense of Canny Ong's murder being without apparent motive

But NO One (or at best, very few) cared about Canny Ong (or for that matter, Shaariibuu Altantuyaa).

Yes, the usually noisy vociferous guppies remained strangely silent on the murder of Canny Ong being reported as without any motive. But such was/is prejudice, particularly reckless, emotional and invincibly blind double standard prejudice, more so when that prejudice has been laced with the poison of acrimonious politics, that they couldn't care two figs about poor Canny Ong.

The latter, Shaariibuu too would only be useful if her murder could convict someone, a particular person. Otherwise, Shaariibuu was just like Canny Ong, a murdered person of fleeting interest in a highly politicized and poisonous Malaysia.

Shaariibuu Setev, father of Altantuyaa

And as for poor Mr Shaariibuu Setev, the father of Altantuyaa, he has been so misinformed and misled into already believing a certain "Someone" murdered his daughter, that he was wont to say of Azilah Hadri and Sirul Umar, the two convicted murderers of her daughter, that he doesn’t wish the death penalty on them. “Executing these officers is an awkward way to eliminate evidence.”

I truly feel sorry and sad for the poor father of Altantuyaa Shaariibuu who thinks the murderers of his daughter are only 'evidence'.

Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad met the father of murdered Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu on Wednesday (June 20) and agreed that the case should be reopened
Did Mahathir meet the family of Canny Ong?

  1. Before Althanthuya vanished/murdered, she was at Razak Baginda's place?
Why she was there? For what purpose? Did the police interrogate like how common criminals being interrogated or treat Razak Baginda like how they treat those VIPs? This are the questions we need answers.

  2. AG has said it should be investigated, as it should be.
Your objection to even that shows how blindly biased you are TOWARDS Najib.
Then again we know how lucrative that has been.

  3. Wakakakakaka…

Look like u r dying to tie lust - vis-a-vis Canny ong's horrendous killing by one lustful Ahmad Najib, as the ONLY motive for the two simple-minded KTU soldiers to kill Shaariibuu Altantuyaa!

    How convenience & straightforward!

U must as well as how to that two lustful KTU came to prey sextually on Shaariibuu Altantuyaa within 48hrs of knowing her? Same like how Ahmad najib preyed on Canny Ong!

    Bravo!! Murder u wrote!

    2. Ahmad Najib Aris was not a UTK Special Forces Policeman, on Najib's bodyguard detail.
Ahmad Najib Aris was not associated with powerful people like Razak Baginda and Najib Razak.

  5. If Ahmad Najib Aris had filed an SD from death-row accusing so-and-so had a hand in the murder of Canny Ong, Tommy Thomas would surely re-open the case.

But Ahmad Najib Aris did no such thing. So he was hanged. So what is the link between Canny Ong with Altantuya?

    1. wrong (silly) question

it should be "So what is the link between Ahmad Najib Aris with Azilah & Sirul?"

  6. Wonder did only one of them 'bonked' her or both did. I only one, which one? If both, who 'bonked' first? Did the court establish these questions? Wakakakaka .........

  7. https://sloone.wordpress.com/2010/07/08/we-know-baginda-is-innocent/

This is going back nearly 10 years in Susan Loone's blog,.

This is what someone wrote, which I think sums this up as good as other explanations. It may take 20 years, but Altantuya may finally get justice.

Razak Baginda didn’t give the order to Drop The Bomb.
First he may be a lot of other things, he doesn’t come across as a murderer…
Second, the UTK dudes simply don’t take orders from him…..
Someone much higher up the chain of command gave the order to Drop The Bomb.
    (How high up ?)
The UTK goons just said Aye, Aye Sir (or was it Madam ??) , and it was done….and that was the end of poor Altantuya.

  8. KT, let the Cannie Ong case rest. You and your tag-team partner RPK are not doing anyone any favours, including yourselves. Leave her family in peace. Shame on the two of you.

Cannie Ong's family is not complaining about the verdict, Ahmad Najib Aris' family is not complaining about the verdict, and Ahmad himself did not file any SDs or the like from death row. The general public too accepted the outcome, yes probably lust, poor girl. All parties accepted the verdict and the punishment meted out, as prescribed by law. Justice Was Served And Seen To Be Served.

In Altantuya's case her family is not satisfied and neither are the two on death row. The public is also highly doubtful about the case as the key witness Musa Safri was never produced in court. There is no parallel with Altantuya.

Similarly the Hussein Najadi and Kevin Morais cases.......

  9. Ah Mok never fail to bring up P.D. James theory of “All the motives for murder are covered by four Ls: Love, Lust, Lucre and Loathing” whenever Altantunya's murder case is on focus.

He keeps on harping on Lust. But what about the other 3 ? Love, Lucre and Loathing ?...We can eliminate Love and Loathing since these duo never knew about her existence until that fateful night. What about Lucre ? Money (Lucre) is always a very strong motivation.....Sirul claimed in court that he was offered RM 100,000 and it was rumoured that Azilah was given RM 300,000. Read on what was written by P.Ramakrishnan :

" The case took on a complexion of its own when Sirul said in court that he was offered RM100,000 to commit murder. Once that was disclosed, wouldn’t it be natural for the judge to ask, “Who offered you the money?”

But as it turned out, the "wise" judge never asked Sirul who offered him the money and further more, this judge in his decision best known to himself, decided to accept BOTH the prosecutor's AND the defense' objection any attempt to name the VIP involved offering the money.

"An answer to that question ( 'who offered you the money' ), once posed by the judge, would have led the court to establish the veracity of Sirul’s answer. Once that was established, it was just a question of issuing a subpoena for that person or those persons and the motives could have been ascertained, exposing those responsible for wanting her dead.

If the trial was to establish the truth, nothing but the truth, wouldn’t this line of questioning be relevant and pertinent? This approach is all the more reinforced when Sirul said that he was made a scapegoat. In short, it would have honed or blunted Sirul’s credibility. Shouldn’t the judge have asked Sirul who made him a scapegoat and then put that person(s) on the witness stand to determine who was telling the truth?"

My bet is on the MONEY. Just like Ah Mok and his mentor RpuKi too have strong dirty lucre (dedak) motivation to defend the indefensible. It all boils down to money for these machais of those VVIPs.

Dedak apparently can be blinding to some, to such an extent that they are blind to so many disquieting questions that keep haunting our minds when we see how the judge wrapped up the case with such indecent haste.

  10. everyone inclduing you and me are speculating - and Azilah did NOT say 300,00 but just 300, wakakaka

    1. That is to push the point of the allegation that it was not a Paid assassination. The RM 300 was just a minor token, Duit Raya as TPM termed it.
Azilah's SD allegation is that he was Ordered to get The Job done.

    2. as I mentioned - all speculations - aren't you pushing the point of the allegation that it WAS a Paid assassination

    3. If you know where to scour for 'inside' infor, there was more than a mention of 300,000 paid to Azilah, not the other 300 which was supposedly claimed Azilah himself as a duit raya and note this, he said this 'huge' 300 is not all for himself but to be shared out among the "boys", hihi, enough to buy a few curry puffs and some batang rokok. Everyone then was talking about the 100K for Sirul and the 300K for Azilah. Dirty lucre is the lure for these assassins, not Lust when they set out to kill on order from their boss.
