Phantoms in Mahathir's Citizens' Declaration

Mahathir's Citizens' Declaration or, as named by DAP's Charles Santiago. a "rushed document" without considering how to restore Malaysia's public institutions allegedly destroyed by Mahathir (judiciary, police, civil service, etc, especially their accountability and transparency), was supposedly signed by 50.

what's the f**king rush?
where's the consultation?
what's mahathir's commitment to reform?

As V Gayathry said (see my immediate previous post
Signing a Mahathirism document when he's yet to be held accountable for his actions?) those Pakatan leaders who signed despite their unfulfilled demand that Mahathir apologises for his mistakes as PM, and who claimed deceitfully they have signed as individuals and not for their parties: You can’t be leaders of influential movements and claim to be individuals only in this political move.

But at least 50 is more than Anwar Ibrahim's supposed 30 BN MPs hopping across to Pakatan in 2008, wakakaka.

But wait, it's not 50 because two names on that Declaration have their actual persons coming out to say, words to the effect, "Bullshit, I did not sign the document", wakakaka.

woi nyonya Maria Chin, mana you?
wakakaka

One of the two, Ku Li claimed he didn't go to the gathering nor was he even aware of it. The other was Zaman Khan, ex cop and former (retired) prison chief who was shocked to see his name as one of the signatories when he did not support the Declaration.

"I was there!"
wakakaka

50 minus 2 equals 48, and I have to wonder how many more names were there but not signed by their owners, wakakaka.

Aiyah, so hard up, so desperate lah. But where the f**k are the 40,000 Banglas when they're needed, wakakaka.

To close, here's a poem titled 'Bangla in Pilihanraya' I wrote in my other blog, KTemoc Komposes, for your perusal, wakakaka.

Hello, my name is Mr Farooq Majumdar
I was born in Kampung Paya Terubong
Which by the way, Sahib, is not very far
Just the distance for a Bangladeshi song

Yes Sahib, indeed I am very very Malaysian
Which is why today I have come to vote
‘Coz there is also lucrative compensation
And I really don’t mind coins or bank note

Come to think of it, I've a Malaysian mien
I work goreng-ing at a char koay teow stall
And pahkok with Ah Peh Ah Ee in Hokkien
While my towkay sits behind doing f*-all

* Malaysian and Penang Hokkien words (italicized) explained in Ktemoc Komposes

Best of all I don’t have to go home, I mean
Kampung Paya Terubong is now my address,
And that’s what makes me really super keen
To vote as told, for a citizenship to possess

"Farooq you naughty rascal, come home immediately"

wakakaka (with sincere apologies to Madame Sheik Hasina)

  1. Ever heard of "Cold Feet" ?

Tengku Razaleigh is one of the biggest political cowards in Malaysian history. Making pretty speeches now and then, but never doing anything useful or concrete about those speeches.
He expects to be handed the PM-ship on a silver dulang, with a 100 kompang band accompanying.
Worse than useless for any effort to make a change in the country.

Zaman Khan, once one of the brightest stars in the PDRM, likely potential candidate for IGP, has large skeletons in his closet. Not difficult for a few "strategic phone-calls" to make him change his mind about supporting this initiative.

  2. First of all, what is this fucking signing of declaration to topple Najib? What the fuck can this declaration do anyway. If 1MDB,with all fantasies(gravy) added cannot dent Najib, what can this piece of paper do?

Well,I will tell you what it will do.It will give the "red shirts",Ikan Bakal Jamals,Ali Tinjus and Ismail Sabris the opportunity to have another big demonstration. When this happens, you guys will not like it.But worst still, the opposition leaders will be scrambling, looking everywhere where their mamas are.Crying and wailing for their mamas to come to their rescue.

The political, racial and religious atmospheres are at their very lows.Law abiding Malaysians do not need this crap of a useless piece of declaration paper,to ignite the simmering tensions(timebomb) already in the political arena. This declaration(recipe) is a precursor for an event, which is going to set the country back to the stone age.You guys better believe it.

  3. Looking back the last couple of years,Najib was under heavy attack daily by his political foes.People from both sides of the divide were predicting his inevitable departure from the political scene. His sitting on his hands and not fighting back, have his foes confident that they were moving in for the kill.

A couple of years later, this man,is now labelled a "dictator" by his oppnents.Najib had made his opponents look like minnows, swimming in a pond, waiting to be gobble up by the mighty kois.

Politically speaking,he seems solid as a rock. His enemies know that he cannot be topple by democratic means. So,they are now going for their last hope, that an "Arab Spring" might emerge and be the light at the end of the tunnel.Go figure.

  4. ....Citizen's Declaration...
    a) The removal of Dato’ Seri Najib Razak as Prime Minister of Malaysia through non-violent and legally permissible means.

    b) The removal of all those who have acted in concert with him.

    c) A repeal of all recent laws and agreements which violate the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Federal Constitution and undermine policy choices.

    d) A restoration of the integrity of the institutions that have been undermined, such as the police, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Bank Negara and the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee.

    e) We call upon all Malaysians, irrespective of race, religion, political affiliation, creed or parties, young and old to join us in saving Malaysia from the government headed by Dato' Seri Najib, to pave the way for much-needed democratic and institutional reforms, and to restore the important principle of the separation of powers among the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary which will ensure the independence, credibility, professionalism and integrity of our national institutions

Hmmmm...actually I don't see anything wrong with the above.
I could have written it myself, and many, many other right thinking Malaysians as well.

If you don't like it, at an objective level, you should be able to clearly articulate what is it you object to, which sentence or word.

OK, you may not like the man behind it.
You may recall with deep anger the wrongs he had done over 22 years as PM, and even beyond that.
You may even hate him for it.
    That is your right.

But think carefully about the issues brought forth by this declaration as well.

Remember, when it involves a country, the Present and the Future are anytime more important than the Past.

The only time when that is not true is on your death bed.

    1. You miss the point, as many before you have done. Its not the content of the declaration. It is a question of trust. Can you trust Mahatiu enough to work with him. You have to ask the question, why does Mahatiu want to work with the opposition to force jib bhai to resign? If the only answer you can come up with, is because Mahatiu loves the country and the rakyat, then you are sorely mistaken.
