even Vietnam ranking at OECD average was better than Malaysia |
Pemerhati: Around 1957, Malaya’s school education standards were comparable, if not better than Singapore’s as many Malayans with a grade 3 certificate, who could not get jobs as teachers in Malaya, became teachers in Singapore.
A CNN programme revealed that a comparative study of the various education systems showed that Finnish students produced very good results in various subjects when compared to students in United States and other countries.
This was attributed mainly to the fact that in Finland, the very best graduates were recruited to become teachers. Unfortunately in Malaysia, that is not the case.
After May 13, 1969 and especially after Dr Mahathir Mohamad became PM, the standards plunged because the main criteria for selection of teachers and other public servants were race and religion.
Now the whole system is rotten to the core and a lot of money is wasted on half-past-six teachers who are not only incompetent but also do very little work.
you have been a great Education Minister Datuk I hope to emulate you I'm sure you will, my dear boy |
Wikipedia informs us, firstly of Ops Lalang in 1987 when Anwar Ibrahim was Education Minister: The immediate cause, however, was the government appointment of teachers to Chinese schools.
Concerns were raised by the Opposition over the Ministry of Education's decision to appoint some 100 senior assistants and supervisors to vernacular Chinese schools (Chinese-medium primary schools that belong to the local Chinese communities) for which the government provides funding and personnel and sets the school curriculum.
It was learnt that those appointed were Chinese who were not Chinese-educated, implying that students and parents might be forced to use English or Malay to communicate with the school personnel.
Chinese educationalist groups contended that the move would limit the usage of Chinese in the schools.
Chinese educationalist groups contended that the move would limit the usage of Chinese in the schools.
Secondly: During his tenure as Education Minister, Anwar introduced numerous pro-Malay policies in the national school curriculum.
One of his major changes was to rename the national language from Bahasa Malaysia to Bahasa Melayu.
Non-Malays criticised this move as it would cause the younger generation to be detached from the national language, since they would attribute it to being something that belongs to the Malays and not to Malaysians.
hehehe, I'm now the Education Minister, which means I can emulate you hehehe oso, hehehe again, it's gonna be fun |
same shti, diff day. talk something current la. or u r too old for thing fresh n flash?
ReplyDeletepoor HY gets upset when I point out Anwar's sad but true performance as Education Minister, but my dear HY, education or its poor standards is currently vogue
DeleteNext post that cibai kaytee would write is
ReplyDeleteKaytee wakes up in the morning and cant pang sai. It must be anwar fault. Hahaha
is this the best that cibai looes could say to defend Anwar? sheesh, malu lah
DeleteHuh? Defending anwar? More like questioning your allegiance with najib? You mean najib is damned during then. What is your relationship with najib? J lho boyfriend
Deleteas usual, pandai but cibai looes great with bullshit but with confronted with facts, withers away into gibberish cibai nonsense by trying to bring in Najib who's non-relevant to this post, wakakaka
DeleteWakakaka.........KT, you got a mention in this guy's blog, your equivalent,
ReplyDeletehttps://shuzheng.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/respecting-war-respectful-journalists/
both of you are so similar, both 狂芒之人
wakakaka but my 'equivalent'? see if you can leave a comment there, wakakaka
DeleteMost other countries which have suffered a decline in their education system have got there because of budget crises arising from their economic malaise.
ReplyDeleteThe long , sad, decline of Malaysia's education system is particularly execrable because it is the consequence of deliberate and conscious government policies and actions, all the while within a generous funding framework.
The rotten seeds were planted by policy frameworks created in the 1960's.
Most of the long-lasting (possibly irreversible) damaging actions were carried out in the late 1970's until the late 1980's. The early 1900's until now have shown continuing deforming of the education system, inability to face reality due to race-based political agendas, new damage (e.g. the Najib / Muhyiddin National Education Blueprint).
It is intellectually dishonest as well as unhelpful to any possible solutions to simply zoom in on Anwar Ibrahim as the primary culprit on this subject. To be sure, Anwar was part of the problem and definitely not innocent.
Anwar Ibrahim was Education Minister for 6 years.
Najib Tun Razak was Education Minister for 5 1/2 years.
Why is Najib considered not relevant to this subject, and getting a free ride here ?
Is somebody just pushing a private agenda and personal bias here ?
Accurate question is that why that cibai kaytee right till now refuses to say anything about Najib. Have you noticed that the whole shit started with the Razak's report? According that fucking cibai kaytee, Anwar must be wrecking the fucking non melayus since 1956. Anwar was 9 years old. How about this? Anwar is a devil incarnate. Any time Kaytee can't shit in the morning, it must be Anwar's fault.
DeleteMakes we wonder why kaytee concoct the GET FUCKING ANWAR's campaign?
We must ask that fucking kaytee.......Are you a chinese ed?
Seriously, again what is the real relationship between kaytee and Najib? Notice extremely carefully when kaytee is tacitly defending Najib. I wouldn't mind if kaytee is tacitly defending Bush Junior or Tony Blair or John Howard
John Howard introduced GST in Australia and declared himself as deputy sheriff to Bush
Of course there are Chinese millionaires in big cars and big houses. Is it the answer to make a few Malay millionaires with big cars and big houses? How does telling a Malay bus driver that he should support the party of his Malay director (UMNO) and the Chinese bus conductor to join another party of his Chinese director (MCA) - how does that improve the standards of the Malay bus driver and the Chinese bus conductor who are both workers in the same company? If we delude people into believing that they are poor because there are no Malay rights or because opposition members oppose Malay rights, where are we going to end up? You let people in the kampongs believe that they are poor because we don't speak Malay, because the government does not write in Malay, so he expects a miracle to take place in 1967 (the year Malay would become the national and sole official language in Malaysia). The moment we all start speaking Malay, he is going to have an uplift in the standard of living, and if doesn't happen, what happens then? Meanwhile, whenever there is a failure of economic, social and educational policies, you come back and say, oh, these wicked Chinese, Indian and others opposing Malay rights. They don't oppose Malay rights. They, the Malay, have the right as Malaysian citizens to go up to the level of training and education that the more competitive societies, the non-Malay society, has produced. That is what must be done, isn't it? Not to feed them with this obscurantist doctrine that all they have got to do is to get Malay rights for the few special Malays and their problem has been resolved.
DeleteLee Kuan Yew in the Parliament of Malaysia, 1965 [2]
Where the cibai fuck is kaytee then? Still claiming that it's Anwar's fault SOLELY? Hahahahaha
yes, John Howard introduced GST and I have always been pro GST so don't talk gibberish cibai nonsense when my pro GST stand has been consistent
DeleteAnd wasn't it a fact that both Dr M and AI were Education Ministers? Wasn't it a fact that AI's educational policy sparked the event leading to Dr M's Ops Lalang?
Wasn't it a fact that when AI was Education Minister, his education department issued a directive requiring compulsory doa at school by even non-Muslim students?
Stop attempting to spin and distract from these undeniable facts, you cibai looes
Okay, I strongly suggest that you should pay 20% GST whenever you enter Malaysia. Okay?
DeleteBy the way, where does 42 billions go to?
childish lah, cibai childish - why don't you ask Dr M why so many agencies had to be bailed out during his time, like Perwaja, MAS, BB, etc, and not forgetting the castration of the judiciary, wakakaka - it's all your cibai fault lah
Delete"They don't oppose Malay rights. They, the Malay, have the right as Malaysian citizens to go up to the level of training and education that the more competitive societies, the non-Malay society, has produced."
DeleteAnd LKY said that in 1965....fifty years ago ! See how meritocracy in education took Singapore to where it is now. But in our beloved country, now in 2015, check out what the President of MCC ( malay chambers of commerce) said :
"Abolish meritocracy in education and return justice to the Malay students. Today, meritocracy has created Chinese supremacy. There is nothing to benefit the Malay students."
This great country of ours is under threat from those who would destabilise it by undemocratic means. The most dangerous current conspiracy comprises an Unholy alliance of Opposition activists and superannuated UMNO leaders.
