Malaysiakini Jude commented on the article Fiery speeches: 'Stern warning' for Umno three in succinct fashion.
He proposes to UMNO's Hishamuddin Tun Hussein, son of illustrious father Tun Hussein and grandson of even more illustrious and highly respected Datuk Onn Jaafar, that at next year's UMNO general assembly, Hisham should leave the keris at home and brandish a ‘crutch’ instead.
Jude reckons that the crutch will be more closer to the truth for UMNO's perpetual dependence on and virulent defence of the NEP. Jude quoted in part Abraham Lincoln's famous saying by reminding Hisham that UMNO may be able to fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.
Abraham Lincoln said: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

After all those ranting, incendiary speeches, bloodbath calls and kissing of the keris, the spin doctors wanted Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to play the Big Hero role and come out telling one and all that, once again, that he is ‘PM for all Malaysians’ and that only what he says goes and will be translated into government policies.
But if he and his spindoctors think that Joe Public will be taken in again by his talk of ‘I am PM for all Malaysians’, they are obviously mistaken.
Enlightened Malaysians are obviously not going to be taken in once again like that time, long ago in the spring of 2004. Come the 12th general election, be it in 2007 or 2008 or even 2009, such talk will be shown to be the bull that it really is.
Enlightened Malaysians must then show themselves to be enlightened voters too. Then, and only then, will Pak Lah receive his big slap.
On the other hand, if at the 12th general election voters decide otherwise, then they should forever remain ‘elegantly silent’ and continue to live elegantly cowed in Umnoputra Bodohland.
By now the PM must know there is a lot of dissastifaction on the ground. My problem is that he does not seem to know what to do about it. People are already talking about election and how to send back a message back to PM and UMNO. So by now he must realize that many non-bumiputra votes are gone. So the logical thing to do would be to pander to the Malay vote but he is also not doing it. The Malay vote is dissatisfied because of his son-in-law and son activities.
ReplyDeleteThere is only one choice left for the PM which is to gather a war chest big enough to buy and cheat in the next election to save his skin. The war chest has to be huge because its no longer so easy. Note the RM600mil contract bonuses at the GA.
The best thing the opposition should do is spend money hiring top-notch ex-CIA spys to dig out dirt on the war chest effort- built a case that can be spinned to the international press and it will really put UMNO into a spin..
