Indian Hindu bashing

Malaysiakini - MIC chief: 'Dirty Hindus' module shows ignorance reigns even in ivory tower

MIC president Dr S Subramaniam said the erroneous claims on Hindusim and Sikhism taught to students at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) show that ignorance pervades the country, even in universities.

UTM yesterday said it would fix its Tamadun Islam and Tamadun Asia (Titas) modules which state that Islam taught Hindus manners and cleanliness, as some of them believed dirt on the body is part of a ritual to attain nirvana.

Another UTM Titas slide circulated online also said the founder of Sikhism borrowed elements from Islam, but had poor understanding of the religion.

"The supposed pedestal of knowledge has become a pool of ignorance.

“We have seen this in schools before and now we realise it is also evident in universities," he said in a media statement today.

Subramaniam said the Hindu scriptures which predate Islam encouraged followers to rise at dawn, bathe and pray before starting the day, contradicting claims made in the UTM Titas module.

"When will we have intellectual honesty?

“There has to be a sincere desire by those within the educational system to the historically and factually true. Attempts to compare cultures and religions are always dangerous," he added.

Subramaniam, who is also health minister, said soul-searching was required to find out why such a "distortion" occurred.

"I pray that a day will dawn where such things will become something of the past," he added.

Indian child labour - they learn how to be hardworking at an early age

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — Slides from a Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) module that portrayed Hindus as “dirty” could have been designed to intentionally misrepresent the religion, said Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan.

Commenting further on the controversy, he expressed his personal disappointment over the messages in the slides that were leaked online, triggering Hindu outrage.

“I can't help but feel only someone who wilfully and purposefully filled with ill intent would produce such a document,” he posted on his personal Facebook page today.

For hand-some kissy Kamalanathan to be so pissed off, he must have been badly hurt by the fabricated bigotry against Indian Hindus.

It would seem that 'someone' lacks confidence in his own religion.

But Minister Subramaniam is right in wanting to know why 'someone' is so much into such fabricated distortion against another race, and deputy minister Kamalanathan is also right in that 'someone' has an ill-intent.

Wasn't Prophet Muhammad pbuh the last prophet of Allah swt?

Malaysiakini - Hadi rains damnation upon 'sin' of voting wrong MP

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has warned voters in Sungai Besar that they might suffer divine punishment if they elect the wrong MP on June 18.

Electing lawmakers, Hadi said, is an obligation and voters would be responsible for the MP’s actions in the Dewan Rakyat.

"If what is said (by the MP) is wrong, we would have sinned and be damned by Allah," he warned at a ceramah in Sungai Besar last night.

PAS had previously said voting for its candidates would earn voters divine rewards in the afterlife.

How do you expect me to be other than an atheist when we get baloney like this?

Back in June 2015 Malaysiakini published 'We fight Umno as Allah told us to fight Umno' in which it was reported that Perak PAS Youth representative Mohd Syakirin Hussein told his party delegates to PAS Muktamar:

"Islam doesn't teach us to fight because of Umno, but to fight for Allah. [...] we would not fight Umno if Allah did not tell us to."

"We fight Umno because Allah told us to fight Umno."

He was not unlike Pak Haji Hadi Awang today, the latter threatening pious Muslims in Sungai Besar with damnation if they don't vote for PAS.

These modern day priests for some mysterious reasons (only known to those priests, wakakaka) would have Allah swt whisper to them who He condemns or/and wants defeated.

Yes, isn't it strange the PAS priesthood caste seems to be always in contact with the Almighty even though Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was definitely the last prophet in Islam. And Allah swt would only speak to prophets. Are they claiming they are prophets too?

One day Allah swt will punish them kau kau for blasphemously misusing His divine name.

Allah's punishment for misusing HIS name?

But alas, there seems to be a universal baloney bunkum bullshiting brotherhood among priests, irrespective of their religious denomination.

Take a much earlier example, some 3000 over years ago, just prior to the Israelite battle with the Philistines at Gilgal, Samuel the priest condemned King Saul resoundingly, though in a far more serious manner than the Pak Haji's threat.

The Israelite High Priest Samuel had earlier instructed King Saul and his army to wait at least 7 days for his (Samuel's) arrival to perform the mandatory pre-battle sacrifice (olah or burnt offerings) to YHWH.

After 7 days of waiting Samuel did not turn up. But across the battlefield the Israelite army saw 30,000 Philistine chariots and 6000 of the enemy's horsemen about to attack them. It was just inconceivable and blasphemous to the Israelites to enter into battle without performing the olah ceremony to their god. It would be akin to entering into battle minus their cawat.

Hardly surprising that those Israelite military were frantic, in fact highly demoralized and near collapsing as they waited and waited and waited for Samuel to turn up as promised to conduct the burnt offerings, but they saw him not.

Let's recall what the bible tell us in 1 Samuel 13:6-8 (KJV):

When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.

And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

On seeing his army highly demoralized and about to cabut away on their own, King Saul made a damn good last-minute field decision and conducted the burnt offerings himself so as to motivate and ready his army for battle.

It was undeniably an excellent decision expected of a highly commendable military king who had tremendous initiative, could think on his feet and more importantly, was courageous enough to extemporize to save his army from a dire demoralized situation.

But the moment he made the burnt offerings, guess what? Wakakaka.

Samuel leapt out from behind a bush and yelled at King Saul: "Aha, caught you, you blasphemous bastard, you did not wait for me as I had instructed."

More formally in the bible, as per 1 Samuel 13:13-14 (KJV), this was what that sneaky treacherous priest said to a startled king:

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

Sadly, many Christians fail to see that Samuel was an "interested" party who had a grudge against Saul because he lost his rule over the Israelites to the first democratically chosen king of the 12 tribes, namely Saul from the Tribe of Benjamin.

Samuel's conflict of interests in his grudge against Saul reeked of nefarious ill intent, bad faith and evil punitive purpose, all for his self interests.

Prior to King Saul being chosen by the Israelites to be their first ever king, the tribes were under the control of the judges (priests). Samuel was a ruling judge and had wanted to pass his command baton to his sons. But the Israelites were pissed off with his two boys because they were utterly corrupt. They then had enough of priests and voted for Saul to be their King.

Thus Samuel, having lost his powers over the Israelites to Saul, was definitely out to get the King one way or another. The above showed how Samuel was prepared to trap Saul during a most critical military situation even at the expense of demoralizing the Israelite army immediately prior to battle. The self-interest self-serving selfish seditious scum.

Using that deliberate sneak ambush of his king, Samuel claimed god had removed the Israelite equivalent of the 'mandate of heaven' from King Saul.

Nonetheless the Israelites were wise enough to be pissed off with Samuel's two boys (one probably reincarnated into a JAIS officer in Gombak who made a woman caught for khalwat performed a blowjob for him). Today we have the advice of Kassim Ahmad, who told us:

“This priesthood caste did not exist at the time of the Prophet or the four caliphs. They only emerged about 300 years later by appointing themselves as interpreter of religion for Muslims,” he said.

“They (Muslims) view their religious leaders like gods and goddesses, that these leaders are seen to be protected from maksum (protected from sin) and must decide on everything about their lives.”

Amin.

A tale of two bah-chang's

[post title with apologies to Charles Dickens and his 'Tale of Two Cities', wakakaka]

MM Online - In Sungai Besar, the war of the two dumplings

Glutinous rice dumplings in Northern Peninsula Malaysia are known as bah chang (literally meat dumpling). It should NOT be spelt in romanised letters as bak chang, as is seen on the web because there's no 'k' sound at the end of the word bah.

If one were to use and pronounce the word 'bak' with a 'k' sound (like 'bark'), in Penang Hokkien that would mean either eye or Chinese ink stick.

Ba chang is not so bad but it lacks the 'h' sound at its end. Anyway, the Mandarin word is Zongzi.

The bamboo leaves-wrapped dumpling is cooked by steaming or boiling and eaten on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar-solar calendar, sometimes referred to as the Double Five festival.

Wikipedia tells us (Wiki is convenient for me because I don't have to write the narration, the same as I know it):

A popular belief amongst the Chinese of eating zongzi involved commemorating the death of Qu Yuan, a famous Chinese poet from the kingdom of Chu who lived during the Warring States period. Known for his patriotism, Qu Yuan tried unsuccessfully to warn his king and countrymen against the expansionism of their Qin neighbors.

When the Qin general Bai Qi took Yingdu, the Chu capital, in 278 BC, Qu Yuan's grief was so intense that he drowned himself in the Miluo river after penning the Lament for Ying.

According to legend, villagers carried their dumplings and [row their dragon] boats to the middle of the river and desperately tried to save Qu Yuan after [they heard] he immersed himself in the Miluo but were too late to do so.

However, in order to keep fish and evil spirits away from his body, they beat drums and splashed the water with their paddles, and they also threw rice into the water both as a food offering to Qu Yuan's spirit and also to distract the fish away from his body. ..... the legend continues, that late one night, the spirit of Qu Yuan appeared before his friends and told them that he died because he had taken himself under the river. Then, he asked his friends to wrap their rice into three-cornered silk packages to ward off the dragon.

These packages became a traditional food known as zongzi, although the lumps of rice are now wrapped in leaves instead of silk. The act of racing to search for his body in boats gradually became the cultural tradition of dragon boat racing, held on the anniversary of his death every year.

Today, people still eat zongzi and participate in dragon boat races to commemorate Qu Yuan's sacrifice on the fifth day of the fifth month of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. The countries around China, such as Vietnam and Korea, also celebrate variations of this Dragon Boat Festival as part of their shared cultural heritage.

Indeed, Japan, Korea, Singapore and the Chinese in Malaysia, not forgetting Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau as well, also celebrated dragon boat festival which has always been associated with bah chang.

Dragon boat racing has become so popular that these are held annually in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. I am not sure whether it's also held in Britain.

It's a festival commemorating respect and love for Qu Yuan, one of China's greatest patriots, the other famous one being General Yue Fei in the later Song Dynasty.

Qu Yuan

Though to be frank, today's Chinese are more interested in the dragon boat racing per se and the consumption of the delicious bah chang.

Bah chang as I knew it in my young days came in two forms, savoury and sweet. The savoury version prepared by Chinese was not halal because it consisted of glutinous rice with fillings comprising pork, chicken, shiitake mushroom, Chinese chestnut, all sorts of beans, etc, all wrapped in bamboo leaves.

The sweet (non-savoury) version may be considered as halal though of course technically halal is more than just the absence of pork and other ingredients prohibited by Muslim dietary code. But the sweet version is just plain glutinous rice withOUT fillings wrapped aso in bamboo leaves, and eaten (after steaming it) with thick syrup. My late mum made the best sweet bah chang I have ever tasted. She did it with Straits nyonya finesse.

the sweet version

Recently I heard of an incident in which an African American ate a bah chang given to him by a Chinese matey. His comments were: "Nice rice and fillings but the vegetables are too undercooked and tough".

The 'vegetables' he was referring to were the bamboo leaves wrapping, wakakaka.

In Malaysia, specifically in Sungai Besi and Kuala Kangsar where two by-elections will be taking place, two Islamic parties, namely, PAS and its splinter group, Amanah, are both competing with UMNO to be the federal representatives for the two constituencies. UMNO is of course defending its status quo as the party which won in these two constituencies in the 2013 general elections.

Ironically because the Chinese represent 25% and 30% of voters in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar respectively, the two Islamic parties which want their votes (PAS had theirs in 2013 GE) have gone 'native' wakakaka in conjunction with the Chinese celebration of 5-5 (Double 5) or Fifth Moon Festival by making and handing out halal bah changs to the locals in their walk-around campaigns.

I wish I was there to take from both parties, wakakaka, and eat the dumplings with a jolly splash of Lingham sweet chilli sauce, yum!

Happily coincidental for Amanah, its party symbol has a triangular shape and resembles a 2-dimensional bah chang, so DAP vice president Teresa Kok and Ng Suee Lim DAP ADUN for Sekinchan capitalised on that by informing the locals to consider Amanah as the bah chang party, to help them become familiar with Amanah candidate Azhar Abdul Shukur.

Teresa said: “People normally see our face (DAP leaders) and they associate it with the rocket logo. But, this time we told them to vote for the orange party, which has a logo that resembles the halal bak chang. Undilah parti bak chang.”

Though the two donors of halal bah changs are Islamic parties, I wonder which will the Chinese favour more, not that I have dismissed BN from the final result. But I suspect Amanah will be happy to come out as No 2 in the results, ahead of its PAS archfoe.

Mind, I suspect UMNO hasn't handed out bah chang because it must have feel such a gimmick would be a wasted effort and unnecessary expense as it has probably already written off Chinese support, wakakaka.

Ah Moi's want register of 'Peeping Toms'

The following cases of injustice occurred to several Ah Moi's in syariah-ruled lands because of lack of 4 'Peeping Toms'.

MM Online - Dutch woman held in Qatar after making rape complaint (extracts):

A 22-year-old Dutch woman is being held in Qatar on suspicion of adultery after she said she was raped while on holiday there, her lawyer and Dutch media said today.

The woman says she was drugged in a hotel, and that she realised she had been raped when she woke up in an unfamiliar apartment.

“She was arrested in March on suspicion of adultery, which means having sex outside marriage,” lawyer Brian Lokollo told Dutch radio NOS-Radio1. [...]

A 24-year-old Norwegian woman who brought a rape complaint against her boss was jailed for 16 months in the neighbouring United Arab Emirates in 2013 for so-called indecent behaviour, perjury and alcohol consumption. She was later pardoned by the authorities.

The term 'Peeping Tom' originated from the legend of Lady Godiva

Read this about an Aussie woman in UAE who was raped but ended up in jail.

Of course there was the case of the Qatif girl in Saudi Arabia. She was a Shiite rape victim in Sunni Saudi Arabia.

She was sentenced to 200 lashes of flogging after she was raped by 7 Sunni men, and when she wanted to appeal against her sentence, she was warned or threatened that her flogging would be increased if she did so.

That was the syariah court of Saudi Arabia.

Azmin abandons Pakatan candidates in by-elections?

Malaysiakini - KJ: Why vote for Harapan if Azmin isn’t committed to Sg Besar?

am too busy for those Amanah small timers

SG BESAR POLLS: Azmin Ali’s absence from the Sungai Besar campaign trail shows that Pakatan Harapan’s candidate does not have the Selangor menteri besar’s blessing, said Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

As such, the youth and sports minister said voters in Sungai Besar should opt for BN as the Selangor menteri besar is not committed to the constituency.

“Do you see the Selangor menteri besar in Sungai Besar after nomination day?

“The party and candidate contesting here did not receive the blessing of the menteri besar due to problems in Pakatan Harapan.

“The menteri besar does not show his commitment to Sungai Besar,” he said during a ceremony with youth associations where sports equipment items were handed out.

Azmin had only made an appearance during nomination day but has been absent since.

In contrast, Khairy said the prime minister, deputy prime minister and other ministers have turned out in force in Sungai Besar.

“I see every day, there are ministers coming here, I think the deputy prime minister is in Sungai Besar almost daily.

Adoi, KJ has made a sharp damning point against Pakatan Harapan.

We know the reason, don't we?

It has been reported:

a) Azmin doesn't want Amanah to win because that will strengthen Rafizi Ramli's position in PKR.

b) Azmin is still eager to be allied with the Islamic Party, thus supporting and campaigning for Amanah will f**k his aim to play footsie-tootsie with PAS kau kau.

c) Azmin frowns upon a strengthened DAP-Amanah combination as that will by default weaken his position in PH.

Blasphemy, Bullshit & Bull-headedness

Star Online - Sungai Besar polls: PAS sings 'old tune' - vote for reward in afterlife

SUNGAI BESAR: Those who vote for PAS will be rewarded in the afterlife as they will help expand the jurisdiction of the Syariah court, a local PAS leader said.

“As a Muslim, if we bring PAS to the road of victory, we will all be rewarded,” said Sungai Besar PAS information chief Salihudin Baharum at Parit 16 here, Wednesday night.

I wonder whether JAIS or JAKIM can charge him for blasphemy, for arrogantly usurping the divine prerogative of Allah swt?

But if JAIS aor JAKIM can, then that means almost every leader in PAS will be charged.

Perhaps I better not raise this or JAIS and JAKIM, always so eager to punish punish punish kau kau, even of PAS members, will initiate its pursuit of Salihudin Baharum in the same way it did to Nik Raina, a manager at Border, who though innocent of any wrong doing or alleged Islamic offence was nonetheless pursued horrendously.

Instead let's examine another piece of reporting contained in the same news article, as follows:

The ceramah was organised by Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) which is campaigning for its ally for the first time. [...]

Kadir, a former Cabinet minister and Umno leader, said that PAS has “returned to the right path” when several of its DAP-friendly leaders left after being voted out in the PAS election.

“Then they went to set up Amanah which is close to DAP, but PAS chose to be on its own.

“I am relieved to know that there is still a party besides Umno that champions the rights of the race and the religion.

“PAS is now free from disease as it holds on to its Islamic principles and takes care of everyone regardless of race,” he said.

Before I come to my point about above news article extract from the Star Online, there's one thing about Kadir Sheikh Fadzir that has bothered me for a long while but I have to confess it's a silly worry because I have been influenced by an Aussie sweetie who told me this:

“Never trust a man who wears a bow tie.”

“Why?”

“Because,” she explained in a very philosophical tone, “he marches to the beat of his own drummer. You can never predict what he’s going to do. He might flip a switch one day and become a completely different person. That’s dangerous."

"No. Men who wear bow ties are bad. Don’t trust them."

Wakakaka.

OK, I confess I copied the above quotes from the web and pasted it here, but the sweetie's message was more or less the same. Sweetie of course allowed for an exception, that a bow tie is okay when the bloke is in tux or DJ, wakakaka.

Anyway, let's leave the bow tie issue aside and review what Kadir Sheikh Fadzir was reported to have said, and which I have copied and pasted below for your easy perusal and comparison, wakakaka:

(a) “I am relieved to know that there is still a party besides Umno that champions the rights of the race and the religion"

(b) “PAS is now free from disease as it holds on to its Islamic principles and takes care of everyone regardless of race”

It seems our dear bow tie-d Kadir Sheikh Fadzir couldn't make up his mind about PAS' attitude towards 'race' within the short space of two continuous sentence.

Apart from quite a few of the commentators over at Malaysia-Today blog, Kadir Sheikh Fadzir is making the MP for Langkawi, Nawawi Ahmad, looks good, wakakaka.

Incidentally, in case you still aren't aware of what notoriety Nawawi Ahmad has earned, please read FMT's Fuss over Langkawi MP’s comments on who pays his salary.

He's not only ignorant but stubborn as well, refusing to apologize and withdraw his ill-informed views on who pays his MP salary.

His idiotic statement coupled with his mule-like stubbornness even earned him opprobrium from Ibrahim Ali, President of Perkasa, who asked Which school did the Langkawi MP go to?

Suspicion torments my heart

One of Elvis' best songs was 'Suspicion' and the line from it that pertains to this post is:

"Suspicion torments my heart"

Wakakaka.

Let's start off with Pak Haji Hadi Awang's Private Member’s Bill to amend Syariah Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (of Act 355), which seeks to INCREASE punishments for wayward Muslims caught by Malaysia's Islamic moral police.

Yalah, punish punish punish kau kau - make them shit bricks so they'll fear and obey the clerics and their fatwas. And this will be on top of what Kassim Ahmad had already said of Malaysian Muslims' attitude towards the ulama, to wit:

“This priesthood caste did not exist at the time of the Prophet or the four caliphs. They only emerged about 300 years later by appointing themselves as interpreter of religion for Muslims.”

“They (Muslims) view their religious leaders like gods and goddesses, that these leaders are seen to be protected from maksum (protected from sin) and must decide on everything about their lives.”

Wow, ... This priesthood caste ... treated ... like gods and goddesses ... and with INCREASED PUNISHMENTS via the proposed amended syariah court act, their pseudo-immortality, authoritative invincibility and more importantly, their unquestionable near-divine status on Earth, specifically in Malaysia, will be set in concrete.

Pak Haji Hadi Awang's collaborator on this BIll, Najib's UMNO, had the person of Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, a deputy minister in the PM’s Department, explaining on one of the proposed INCREASED PUNISHMENTS, namely, the flogging to be increased from 6 strokes to 100 lashes. Three days ago he posted the following clarification on his Facebook:

The implementation of the Syariah strokes of rotan is markedly different from the way it is currently carried out under the civil law. The Syariah strongly prohibits any form of harmful imposition of the stroke. For example, the strength of a stroke is predominantly measured by the level of its swing. The Syariah only permits the harmless kind of stroke – if a book is to be placed between the arm and the body of the person applying the strokes, the book must not fall during the swinging process. Clearly, the 100 strokes possibly imposed under Syariah is nowhere in comparison with the one harmful stroke given under civil law.

Dr Asyraf contradicted himself when he argued that 'The Syariah strongly prohibits any form of harmful imposition of the stroke ... the strength of a stroke is predominantly measured by the level of its swing', yet he at the same breath told us the Hudud Bill which seeks increased punishment such as in flogging, from 6 to 100 lashed.

Then we must ask him why is there then a need to increase the numbers of lashes?

Isn't the aim of the increased lashings meant to inflict increased pain, hurt and fear? Or is the increased lashing meant to sort of scratch and massage the victim's back?

About 7 years ago when sweetie Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarnor was found guilty of yamsenging a Tiger beer, she was fined the MAXIMUM RM5000 and the MAXIMUM strokes of caning, namely, 6 of the best. Why was she as a 1st time offender straightaway given the MAX sentence?

Can you imagine what would have happened if those punishments had already being increased?

100 lashes of flogging?

Then when there was a public outcry, including consoling advice from PM Najib and Sharizat who urged Kartika to appeal for leniency from the syariah court, the Islamic officers (like Dr Asyraf) made a great show of demonstrating how light the caning would be, and the limiting extent to which the caning officer was permitted to raise the cane, and that the caning punishment was only symbolic, more about humiliating the offender so to make her/him repent rather than inflicting pain per se.

If that was the case, why then is there now a need to increase the hudud-ized flogging to as much as 100 lashes? And do you expect me to believe there won't be any pain involved?

If the aim is to shame the offender so as to make him/her repent, won't 6 strokes be as good (even better) than 100 lashes?

Before I leave sweetie Kartika to voice my 'suspicion' on the issue I'm blogging today, wakakaka, FYI, she refused to appeal for leniency and was then adamant that she preferred to be punished and for the punishment to be done and be over with. The situation was complicated by Kajang Prison refusing to conduct the caning.

Anyway, at the last minute, HRH Sultan Pahang stepped in to pardon her thus avoiding an unpleasant incident of a woman being caned in Malaysia by syariah laws.

I beg an additional few more seconds to recapitulate that the PM and ministers and several NGOs were NOT advocative of the punishment of caning a woman, neither was Kajang Prison and HRH's royal pardon a la the US 7th Calvary's arrival at the eleventh minute, all these, spoke volumes of their silent repugnancy of most Malaysian Muslims at such a punishment. Only the ulama and their die-hard supporters wanted to see the punishment executed.

Again, it's all about the undeniable underlying factor of punishing, punishing and punishing as kau kau (severely) as possible, thus 100 lashes beat 6 mere strokes.

And you can bet the punishers will be the ones who won't be punished. Remember the religious police who made the women at Zouk club pee in front of their hot ogling lustful eyes, the JAIS officer in Gombak who forced a khalwat offender to perform a blowjob on him and molested her, those arseholes who persecuted (harassed) innocent Nik Raina, and not forgetting the mufti who made seditious false accusations that there was mass conversion of Muslims at a Perak church and then attempted to place the blame on a woman - were they ever punished?

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who will guard the guards themselves?)

But let's leave Dr Asyraf and his euphemistic explanation of Islamic punishment by flogging, that the Syariah strongly prohibits any form of harmful imposition of the stroke, which I'm sure some flogged victims in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc would love to hear, but as bed time fairy tales, while they are recovering in hospital beds after their floggings, and focus on my 'suspicion' which, wakakaka, 'torments my heart'.

Listen Ah Moi, you should have secured 4 Peeping Toms ... er ... I mean 4 credible Muslim eye witnesses

No no, my suspicion is not about Azmin Ali (wakakaka) or his kutu Tian Chua, nor is it about Pak Haji nor Najib nor Ridhuan Tee (wakakaka).

It's about Liow Tiong Lai. Yes, YB Liow Tiong Lai, who recently went from zero to hero when he vowed to resign from the cabinet if the Bill was passed. There's no doubt he won some brownie points from the Chinese community, as had Gerakan's Mah and MIC's Subramaniam who both jumped on Liow's bandwagon.

Now, had it been MCA's ministers of some strong backbone from yester-years like Lee San Choon, Lee Kim Sai, Tan Koon Swan, Ong Tee Keat who threatened to resign from the cabinet on some principled disagreement with UMNO, I might have bought their resignation vows, wakakaka.

But Liow? He who refers to PM Najib as 'my beloved PM'?

NO! Sorry lah.

Thus my suspicion is that he might have been given 'permission' by Ah Hnea or even instructed to do so.

The hudud manoeuvre has been cleverly conceived and even brilliantly stage-managed by Najib and his men in collaboration with Pak Haji to put Pakatan Harapan on the back foot just before the by-elections, and further exacerbated by an Azmin Ali who said while he supported Amanah he won't campaign against PAS for them. He's rumoured to want Amanah candidates to lose in the two by-elections.

And Liow's show of supposedly principled bravery, in stark contrast to a subdued DAP, might have been 'diaturkan' so as to win back Chinese votes in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar.

Aiyah, what to do lah - kaytee is a very suspicious bloke and always loves a conspiracy or two, wakakaka.

But hey, do also read FMT's Hadi's Bill is not Hudud Bill, an essay written by Shamsher Singh Thind who is the publicity secretary to DAP Chai Leng Park and Legal Adviser to P Ramasamy, the Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang. Shamsher wrote (extracts):

... the PAS-led Terengganu State Government in 2002 did pass a hudud law. It is called the Shariah Criminal Offence (Hudud and Qisas) Enactment, which came into force on 27 October 2003. Of course, no Muslim has ever been punished under this law due to the limitation of the sentencing powers of shariah criminal courts as discussed above.

Now, despite winning the 2004, 2008 and 2013 general elections in Terengganu, the BN has yet to repeal the 2002 Enactment, which is still in force, although not functional.

If the component parties of BN are so concerned about the total ban on hudud, then why are they keeping quiet on this issue?

Based on the two points above, I call upon the party presidents, Liow Tiong Lai, S. Subramaniam and Mah Siew Kong to resign with immediate effect. If they want to resign over a bill that is introduced to amend the 1965 Act, then they should resign for allowing the passing of the 1965 Act in the first place. If they want to resign over a hudud law, then they should resign for having failed to repeal the 2002 Enactment.

Hallelujah .. I mean ... Al-ḥamdulillāh. Well said, Shamsher.

And now something from the 'King':

Wasn't this man touted as a future PM?

FMT - Nazir wants Huckle’s fellow inmates to mete out justice

PETALING JAYA: Nazir Razak, in an Instagram post today, bemoaned what he sees as an overly lenient punishment for convicted UK paedophile Richard Huckle.

He hoped Huckle’s fellow inmates would mete out the appropriate justice.

“Is this enough punishment??? He abused children aged between 6 months and 12 years, kept a diary of his activities and posted pics and videos,” the chairman of Malaysia’s CIMB Group Holdings Berhad said of Huckle, who was on Monday handed 22 life sentences for 71 counts of child sex offences.

“I urge his inmates to mete out more just retribution,” Nazir added.

I am gobsmack shocked by Nazir Razak's mentality in his call for illegal violent vigilante justice. I'd expect that of low level mob, people who are less educated, ill informed and act on violent impulse without mindfulness of civilised society's due process.

How can this man who was once touted as a potential future PM allowed his emotions to so run away in his call for vigilante actions of the worst kind?

Most certainly Huckle is a most vile beast, and society must punish him, not so much as a punitive action per se but principally to protect the public, especially children, by confining him away from his victims.

A second aim of social punishment is deterrence but for a modern civilised society, it should not adopt punitive extremism a la the Old Testament's 'an eye for an eye ...' mentality.

The Old Testament code of punishment existed in a different era, several thousands of years ago, and in a different society, of clannish tribesmen, people who adopted ferocious savage ways in order to survive in a harsh competitive environment.

Huckle has already been sentenced to umpteen life sentences and it'll be a miracle if he ever sees the sky again from outside the prison walls.

Another possible punishment for vile unrepentant sex offenders is chemical castration. On this, FMT reported some Instagram users calling for castration, but we must not advocate castration in the manner of physical severance of his organs as Hong Kong gangsters have been known to do to wayward Romeos by restraining them and then using household scissors to snip off the genitalia in situ. That's why they have been considered as gangsters, thugs, hooligans, mobsters.

We Malaysians are (I hope) a civilised society, not savages. Let's leave such barbaric justice actions like what Hongkie hoodlums had done to our neighbours, where in India suspected rapists had had their penises hacked off with cleavers and axes by angry mobs, though one cannot help but wonder whether those suspicions were well founded or exploited by opportunistic batu api competitors (which had happened in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and we are only too familiar with), and in Philippines a la the antics of a Pinoy politician.

But I fear what Nazir Razak had Instagram-ed would find accord with and be embraced by quite a few Malaysians, especially those who support capital punishments and flogging on the flimsiest of offences.
