Starmer out: UK PM quits less than two years after landslide victory

LONDON, June 22 — Prime Minister Keir Starmersaid on Monday he would resign, with a new leader to be in place by the time parliament returns in September. Less than two years after he won a landslide election victory that promised to end chaos in British politics, Starmer said he would support whoever replaced him.
The threat to Starmer, which had been building for months, increased sharply on Friday when Andy Burnham, the Greater Manchester mayor, decisively won a parliamentary election to return to Westminster, beating a candidate from Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, which has led national opinion polls for more than a year.
That victory gave hope to Labour lawmakers that Burnham, a career politician known for his communication skills, could transform the fortunes of a party that has lost support under Starmer, whose popularity ratings have sunk to the lowest for any British leader.
But the change is not without risk. Beyond saying that the country needs fundamental change and to bring down the cost of living, Burnham has yet to make clear his approach to foreign affairs, the economy and defence.
Like Starmer, he could find he has little room to manoeuvre, hemmed in by bond market investors opposed to any additional borrowing, and confronted by an angry electorate which believes the country is not working properly. Britain already has the highest borrowing costs in the Group of Seven wealthy nations due to its high debt and interest payments, years of anaemic economic growth, its struggles to cut spending and the need to invest in areas like defence.
Investors spoken to by Reuters were divided over whether Burnham, who said last September that Britain had to get “beyond this thing of being in hock to the bond markets” would respect the need to reassure markets.
He has since said he was misrepresented.
“In our view, a Burnham premiership would inherit a precarious fiscal situation with few tools to deliver meaningful change,” economists at Citibank said on Friday.
Starmer had pledged to fight any challenge
Starmer had said on Friday he would stand in any formal Labour leadership contest that sought to replace him. But that appeared to change over the weekend.
Whoever replaces Starmer will become Britain’s seventh prime minister since the Brexit vote to leave the European Union which took place 10 years ago this week. That level of turnover – the highest in Britain in nearly two centuries – underlines the struggle of maintaining the support of voters angry at successive failures to improve living standards, public services and tackle illegal immigration.
The political advisory group Eurasia had said the best outcome could be for Starmer to say he will step down in September, enabling him to attend a UK-European Union reset summit in July and give Burnham time to prepare for government. — Reuters

Anything could happen at this stage.
Remember, the Iran war was mainly about the tyrannical and financial grip of the City of London, that grip has been dismantled thanks to President Trump. London has fallen.
It doesn’t make sense to put another dictator in power when the NWO has been taken down, and we are watching the old guard being dismantled in real time. Starmer destroyed his own party, he destroyed the country, destroyed the economy and became the biggest wanker on the planet. Why would they automatically put another leader in position (which won’t be for another few months anyway) in power, when the whole thing is falling apart. It would be like steering the Mary Celeste, no crew on board.
Whatever is coming next for the country, expect carnage and plenty of in-fighting within Government, unless of course Parliament is dissolved and a new General Election is called. This would be the best avenue to take, but I’m not in control of the plan. God is.
It’s hard to predict from a 40,000 view what’s next for us, as there are so many twists and turns. I’m thinking logic here, as many of us know this is all part of a bigger operation to destroy the higher powers and take down the NWO.
I’m optimistic that we’re on the right path, and exposure is still happening.
If it ever get written, it will be when the operation is over. Until then, and if we still around, the following has smells of true in it, this kind of conclusion is drawn from reading between the lines while reading msm reports, which actually happened, and reading no-holds-barred, no-shit-given anonymous board sparring and squeezing the possibility out from various other sources...

Team Burnham pressed Keir Starmer to stay on over the summer to give their man time to prepare for power. Starmer rebuffed them in no uncertain manner: you’re forcing me out because you think I’m useless. So why should I wait til September at your convenience?
As I said on @TimesRadio yesterday, this is not an amicable handover.
Starmer was very badly prepared for power in July 2024. Burnham is considerably less well-prepared.
https://x.com/i/status/2069365823941071092
I don't think anyone can be prepared Andrew. But the truth is, our democracy isn't democratic at all. A small band of hateful MPs have started a coup, something Burnham has been behind. He is despicable.
Btw...it seems left of centre countries are being replaced. Columbia just had their GE and the losing incumbent is crying unker. Someone has compiled a visual over just how much the political atmosphere in South America had changed the past two years. Spain's Pedro is another one in the target...watch the news...Vlad's envoy already highlighted Merz for next after Stammer...you already have your regular reminder by the truckload...very often, the quiet and scenic coconot trees over the water or seascape flashes my mind...nice to have those idylic childhood memories compare to such intense ai era...cheers

DeleteTHE NUMBERS ARE CLEAR
Trump and Elon officially shut down USAID in July 2025 after the big foreign aid freeze.
Since then, right-wing leaders have swept to victory across the region, at least 7 major wins in quick succession:
• Chile: José Antonio Kast (hard-right, biggest rightward shift in decades)
• Bolivia: Rodrigo Paz (ended decades of socialist MAS rule)
• Ecuador: Daniel Noboa (re-elected on law-and-order)
• Colombia: Abelardo de la Espriella (far-right surge into the runoff)
• Peru: Right-wing momentum building hard
• Honduras & Costa Rica: Conservative/right-populist takeovers
Coincidence? Or did cutting off billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars that were flowing to leftist NGOs, “democracy” programs, and activist networks finally let voters decide for themselves?
The pink tide is collapsing. People are choosing security over chaos, sovereignty over dependency, and results over ideology.
This is what happens when the money tap gets turned off and the people get to speak.

Overnight storms bring flooding across TfL network
2 hours ago
Amy Clarke
Thunderstorms and heavy overnight rain have caused significant disruption across parts of London, including at Heathrow Airport.
There is currently no Elizabeth Line service between Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 and Terminal 4 due to flooding caused by the downpour and the Heathrow Express is running a reduced service in both directions.
The disruption follows intense storms in the early hours of 23 June. London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it had handled about 400 calls since midnight, most of them related to flooding affecting homes and roads.
Serious operation in the dead of a summer night, using intense lightning and thunderstorm as cover?

ReplyDeleteThe Supercell that has crossed Wessex earlier has generated over 7,000 strikes in about 4-5 hrs, It has produced 35mm of rain in places most of which fell in 15 minutes for example at Grove Farm , with rates of 105mm /h.
I don't think was an MCS, because it really only displayed individual storm cell characteristics, one would expect an MCS to extend over tens if not hundreds of miles at once and for the MCS to grow as night falls, This cell is now choking itself off as the rain shield cools and there is no more hot enough air to sustain it.
Its movement was interesting as it topped the tropopause, it felt the more westerly wind at 200mbs which shunted it more easterly (Right moving) and then as it began to decline (top decreased in height) it felt more the WSW, then SW wind lower down in the profile and the direction of storm motion became ENE then NE.
MCS is typically formed from numerous cells merging into an organised system. This Cell did not do that, but it went up to 41,000ft, and produced a lot of rain, lightning and no doubt locally some issues, but the expanse and cloud shield have moderated the Atmosphere over the Entirety of Southern England.
It was one potent Thunderstorm , that's for sure,

Labour candidate Amar Ilyas along with 3 brothers have been convicted for child rape, they were part of the Sheffield Rape Gangs.
Peter Murrell who is Nicola Sturgeons estranged husband has been jailed for embezzling £400,000 from the SNP while he was chief executive.
Former Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has been found guilty of all 18 child sex abuse charges, including rape.

ReplyDeleteAfter a hellish week in a Paris Airbnb with no AC (100°F outside, 108°F+ inside), I started looking into why the French are so opposed to AC.
There's many reasons: bureaucracy, poverty, etc. But the main one is decades of environmental campaigns that convinced people AC is the devil.
The result? You can't escape the heat. Most buses, metro lines, and shopping malls have no AC.
This Monday, 850 schools are closing because classroom temperatures exceed 104°F.
In Nantes, they built a brand-new train station and a hospital without AC for environmental reasons. The station is now partially closed because it's become a "furnace" that endangers travelers. Hospitals are covering windows with emergency foil blankets to protect patients.
The French demonize air conditioning because it creates carbon emissions that contribute to climate change. Never mind that France already has one of most carbon-free electricity in the world thanks to nuclear, or that it accounts for less than 1% of global emissions.
They also oppose AC because it "just displace the problem" by dumping heat into the street. Never mind that studies suggest even if an entire city were air-conditioned, the increase in outdoor temperature would be at most about 1°F.
Instead, people are willing to endure 104°F+ indoors to avoid a marginal increase outdoors.
This ideology kills more people than firearms in the United States.
Across Europe, between 50,000 and 70,000 people die from heat every year, mostly the elderly and the poor. Compare that to roughly 44,000 Americans killed by firearms.
For comparison, despite having a similar population, deserts, and more extreme temperatures, the United States has only about 2,500 heat-related deaths per year thanks to widespread AC.
That's what bothers me most. The moralizing posture completely detached from reality.
People feel morally superior for "not polluting." They criticize America and its guns while tolerating policies that kills even more people.
I share this anecdote because I know it's shocking to Americans. Here, schools or hospitals reaching 104°F would be unnaceptable.
The absurdity is immediately obvious to us because we're looking from the outside. We see the gap between moral intentions and real-world consequences.
But we're no different. In America, we have dozens of similar issues where we're just as irrational, and we've become blind to them because the solution isn't politically acceptable.
How do can we bring back logic and pragmatism in our societies ahead of irrational political ideological ?

ReplyDeleteEUROPE IS TRAPPED UNDER A MASSIVE HEAT DOME
This isn’t just another hot summer day.
A powerful high-pressure system has settled over parts of Europe, trapping extreme heat over the same areas and allowing temperatures to build day after day.
That is what makes this different.
When the atmosphere gets locked in place like this, the heat has nowhere to go.
Roads, rail lines, power systems, crops, schools, hospitals, and people all start feeling the pressure.
France, Spain, the UK, and other parts of Europe are now dealing with dangerous heat alerts as temperatures push toward record levels for June.
And it’s happening early in the season.
The bigger question now is not just how hot it gets…
It’s how long the pattern stays locked in.
👇
Are these long-lasting heat domes becoming the new warning sign?
