Europe cancels ban on petrol engines in 2035
JAKARTA – EU softened ban of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars by 2035.
- strong pressure from automotive industry
- inadequate EV infrastructure
- high electric vehicle prices
- potential loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs
- prompted review of the policy
- greatest pressure came from Germany
- combustion engines still allowed after 2035
OSTB: Here are some comments by a friend of mine who is a CEO of a company:
- I knew this would happen. I knew they would influence Brussels.
- White man bullshit. Now that they can't win against China, they change the rules.
- So climate change is no longer as important as before. π
- White people's jobs and prosperity are more important.
- The world has always been fooled by Britain, Europe and the US.
China's rise as a world economic superpower is the best thing that happened in this last decade. And the US and Europe's decline can't come quick enough.
- But seriously, can you imagine what the white man (the usual troublemakers - US, Britain, Europe) would do to the rest of the world if China didn't win this EV war?
- Or if China didn't have the stranglehold on Rare Earth Elements (deposits and refining) which are critical for EVs, magnets and weapons?
- And if China was weak like before?
- And if the white man holds all the EV technology and manufacturing (and leave crumbs like assembly to countries like Malaysia)?
- The rest of the world would be forced to buy their EVs at very high prices.
- And they would continue to dictate the rules in the name of climate action (not just on EV but EVERY DAMN THING) that will strangle emerging economies.
All this falls under the field of study called *"political economy"*.
When they (especially US) want your resources they tell u that the following are important: "free trade", "trade liberalization", "open markets", "comparative advantage", "global integration", "good governance".
But when the shoe is on the other foot, n they want to bend towards protectionism, they preach "resource security", "supply chain security," "strategic autonomy", "national security", "critical minerals", "critical technologies", "de-risking" and "levelling the playing field" (used for tariffs n subsidies).
Either way, *it's all white man bullshit that only serves their interest.*

So how now to all the Malaysian brown-cows who have been parroting the global warming, zero carbon bullshit?
We have embarked on that really useless and gargantuan stupidity carbon sequestering project. Price tag: About RM4.5 Billion. Taxpayer funded. Public funds. Big money for the contractors, consultants and commission agents.
Now the orang putih have postponed global warming, they have postponed Zero Carbon, they have just postponed every damned thing they have been forcing upon the unthinking Asiatic brown-cows. (Err..to avoid confusion I am referring to YOU dear reader).
This 'no plastic bags' at the supermarket is really irritating. But its weird. In some places they charge you 20 sen for each plastic bag.
So does this mean if you pay extra 20 sen per plastic bag, then global warming is neutralised? Hello Asiatic brown-cows can you please answer?
Then thank Allah that when you go to the pasar malam, the nasi lemak lady in the morning etc they still give you plastic bags. As well as the guys who sell fish and vegetables at the wet market.
Imagine the guy at the wet market handing you the ikan tenggiri in your hand. 'Sorry no more plastic bags'.

The price of eggs has nothing on the price of computer memory right now. Thanks to a supply crunch from the “AI” bubble, RAM chips are the new gold, with prices on consumer PC memory kits ballooning out of control. In an object lesson in the ridiculousness of an economic bubble, Samsung won’t even sell its memory to… Samsung.
Here’s the situation. Samsung makes everything from refrigerators to supermassive oil tankers. Getting all that stuff made requires an organization that’s literally dozens of affiliated companies and subsidiaries, which don’t necessarily work as closely or harmoniously as you might assume. For this story, we’re talking about Samsung Electronics, which makes Galaxy phones, tablets, laptops, watches, etc., and Samsung Semiconductor Global, which manufactures memory and other chips and supplies the global market. That global market includes both Samsung subsidiaries and their competitors—laptops from Samsung, Dell, and Lenovo sitting on a Best Buy store shelf might all have Samsung-manufactured memory sitting in their RAM slots.

Micron is retiring the Crucial brand, marking the end of its line of budget-friendly solid-state drives (SSDs) and RAM kits, as reported earlier by VideoCardz. In an announcement on Wednesday, Micron says winding down its consumer-focused business will “improve supply and support for our larger, strategic customers in faster-growing segments” — a.k.a. AI companies.
The brand’s shutdown is a huge blow for PC builders and hobbyists, who are already dealing with skyrocketing RAM prices linked to a surge in demand from AI companies. OpenAI, for example, struck a deal with SK Hynix and Samsung to make up to 900,000 DRAM per month for its Stargate project.

ReplyDeleteI don't think people understand the scale of what is happening with tech right now and AI. No, the whole world. Humanity itself.
This makes crypto and dot com look like ants from space.
- DRAM prices are up because all wafers are going to AI high bandwidth RAM production.
- GPUs are being cancelled/delayed because resources are going to AI chip production.
- Xbox is being downsized and deprioritized as resources and money shift to MS AI efforts. Many other divisions too in many other companies. Nothing is as important to them. Nothing.
- There are AI datacenters sitting dark because there are not enough power plants to power them.
- Every company talking constantly about going into space to power/cool orbital datacenters...not as far off fiction, but fact in 5 years or less.
- The US gov making AI a vital strategic goal, and China as well as many other nations.
This is astounding. The race for AI is sucking up every resource on the planet. This is a global shift. It has permanently altered every tech company's direction.
This is just not localized to tech, it is the first world-wide effort of it's type. A civilization defining push.
