Mahathir admits he resigned as PM7 because he didn't want Anwar to succeed him

Pejuang won’t join ‘big tent’ if led by Anwar, says Dr M

PETALING JAYA: Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the party will continue to reject working under a grand opposition coalition with Pakatan Harapan if it is led by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

The former prime minister admitted that all opposition parties needed to work together, in what has been dubbed the “big tent”, if they wanted to prevent a Barisan Nasional victory in GE15.

However, he told Utusan Malaysia that Pejuang will not link up in this grand coalition if it was led by Anwar or Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, describing them as leaders with personal agendas.

“Yes, if it’s possible, there should be a ‘big tent’ as the country is going through so many problems … especially the Malays, (who) have a lot of problems. But we have to find someone who is unswerving,” he said.

Asked why Muhyiddin and Anwar were not fit to lead the big tent, he simply said they were “not straight”.

“Anwar doesn’t have the support. He has announced that he wants to be the prime minister several times, but it didn’t come to pass because he didn’t have the support,” he said.

Mahathir said that if it was not for Anwar’s own push for the top post in 2020, he would have continued being the prime minister with PH still in power and Barisan Nasional kept out of Putrajaya.

“If it wasn’t for him, I would still be prime minister today (leading the PH government),” he said.

Always - only Malays are important. And who caused these problems? After so many donkey years, this old idiot should have been in the forefront in helping the malays with their problems. Instead, he prolonged them.

Yup..this old buffoon still won't admit he made a promise to handover the post after 2 years.

3 - anyway, what this dying old unprincipled old man admitted to is something we all know all along. Only Anwar was too stupid to be taken in. And that includes the father and son Lims. Feankly, PH deserved to be kicked out for trusting a person with no qualms screwing others.

  2. For Mahathir, his opposition to Anwar is like a Mafia-style until-death enmity and vendetta.

He was willing to bring down the whole government to stop Anwar.

    Horrific malice.

    1. the sheer wicked force of his undying evil malice may raise him from his grave, perhaps as a Pontianak to suck Anwar's and Najib's blood, wakakaka

  5. For every epic change that happens, there must be an initiator - be he/she villain or hero.

Bolihland has reached that sopo stage of forked junction where a simmering ground shaking change has to break out.

Like it or not, mamak is that chosen one - definitely not by his own choice! His recalcitrant characteristics of doing-his-own-way just fit the time & place perfectly!
