“Watch your tongue”: Netizens chide Hadi for calling UMNO “paralysed, diseased”

YESTERDAY, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang upped the ante against his frenemy UMNO by urging Johor voters to reject Barisan Nasional (BN), claiming it has become “paralysed” and needs to be put on the bench.

Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, he said that UMNO-BN was voted out in the last general election as it was “plagued with various diseases” as it had helmed the country for too long.

“Change must happen via the ballot box and not street protests. As such, Perikatan Nasional should be Johoreans choice as BN is plagued with corruption and abuse of power as they have run the country for far too long.

“Even Pakatan Harapan have this habit of not fulfilling their promises,” the PAS leader was reported as saying.

However, several netizens did not take Hadi’s taunt on UMNO lightly and hurled brickbats at the Marang MP.

(The one diseased is you, Hadi. You have lost it ever since you got yourself a Government post)

User Shahril Hafizan added:

(PAS has been consistent in not having a stand since its early days. Here and there all the time)

Netizen Adli Asli pointed out Hadi’s hypocrisy by pointing out PAS cooperation with UMNO at the federal level, whilst calling the nationalist party corrupt nearing the Johor state election.

(At the federal level, why is PAS working with the so-called corrupt and greedy party? It’s because Hadi loves his ministerial level special envoy job)

UMNO and PAS, despite being founding partners of the Muafakat Nasional charter, is now at loggerheads with each other nearing the Johor polls.

UMNO leaders tainted, not members

This came about after PAS decided to join the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia led Perikatan Nasional coalition.

Yesterday, UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that the political cooperation between his party and PAS should be kept “in a fold that need not be reopened”.

Several netizens, however, stated that while what Hadi said about UMNO may be true, they stressed that it was party’s leadership that was tainted, not ordinary members.

“Penyakit utama.. UMNO Masih dikuasai pemimpin2 yg bermasalah, korup, menyeleweng, tidak berintergriti..rosak parti..rosak negeri & negara,” said user Syed Fauzi Al Idrus.

(UMNO’s problem is that it is still being led by problematic leaders who are corrupt and lack integrity, which is taking the party and country south)

Echoing Syed Fauzi’s assessment, netizen Donnysius Salati remarked:

(UMNO has too many tainted people in it. Once they are kicked out, the party will become clean again) – March 6, 2022.
