Mattis: ‘You’re Going to Incinerate a Couple Million People’ - America’s Insane Plan to Drop 80 Nuclear Bombs on North Korea

23 January 2021

With the inauguration of the new administration of Joe Biden relations between the United States and North Korea, major military powers which have been technically at war for over 70 years, are expected to deteriorate considerably as the American leadership takes a harder line against Pyongyang.

Although U.S.-North Korean relations saw unprecedented improvements under the Donald Trump administration from 2018, including the first ever summit meetings between their leaders and moves by President Trump to symbolically step into North Korean territory, the first year of the American administration had seen tensions escalate considerably and brought both countries to the brink of conflict in 2017.

Although it was not publicly known at the time, the Trump administration had reportedly had plans to strike the small East Asian state with 80 nuclear warheads - which would be needed to undermine some of North Korea’s key conventional military advantages and penetrate well defended installations such as command centres.

The Trump administration was far from the first to draft plans for nuclear attacks on North Korea, with Pyongyang’s fears of such a strike being a key motivator for its investment in developing a nuclear arsenal of its own to deter such action.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defence James Mattis

Some of the details of the Trump administration’s plans for massive nuclear strikes on North Korea were unveiled by U.S. journalist Bob Woodward, which highlighted that nuclear strikes were to be carried out as part of ‘OPLAN 5027 for regime change in North Korea.’

In a later interview with NPR, Woodward stated that the 80 nuclear weapons were part of a U.S. attack plan which included plans to quickly kill the country’s leadership, which would then place the U.S. in a stronger position to pursue further offensive actions including a possible invasion to subjugate its longstanding adversary.

The journalist further highlighted that while Washington was planning to potentially seek to shoot down North Korean ballistic missiles to prevent it from further testing and improving its deterrent capabilities, there were concerns regarding the possible outcome of such action. President Trump notably delegated authority to Secretary of Defence James Mattis to launch interceptor missiles to shoot down long range North Korean ballistic missiles during test flights.

Engagement Range of North Korean Hwasong-15 ICBM

In one of his several interviews with the president, Trump reportedly told Woodward that he considered that Korean leader Kim Jong Un “was totally prepared” to go to war with the United States, and that full scale war was “much closer than anyone would know.”

One offensive option under consideration in Washington was OPLAN 5015, which would see nuclear strikes launched to kill the North Korean leadership. Such plans were reportedly updated in the Trump administration’s first year in office.

Tensions would subside after North Korea tested its second class of new intercontinental range ballistic missile that year - the Hwasong-15 - which placed the entire U.S. mainland within reach of Korean thermonuclear strikes. The missile was deployed from mobile transporter erector launchers, many of which could be hidden from the country’s vast network of underground bunkers, which combined with the severe lack of intelligence on the country made the possibility of an American attack far slimmer. North Korea has since developed a range of new missile systems including submarine launched nuclear-tipped missiles for a second stage deterrent, which have made prospects for an American offensive even slimmer under the Joe Bidden administration.

  1. It is not the first time that hawky Yankee doodles have been discreetly plotting to use his nuclear weapons on many of his hardened opponents.

Soviet Union - target Leningrad, during the high of European cold war.

China - 长春, when MacArthur wanted to win the Korean war over.

Cuba - during the gulf war crisis.

Never have these f*cked dickheads ever thought about the cold blooded consequences except the triumph of their ego!

And that ego is forever present in the blood of the Yankee when situations turn ugly on him & his intetests.

  2. So ?
North Korea had been brandishing its Nuclear Armed missiles to threaten USA, Japan, South Korea, anybody except perhaps its buddy CCP.

A key aspect of deterrence is that if North Korea actually carried out its threat, it would amount to complete and comprehensive national suicide.

And a deterrence is only credible if it can actually be carried out - which means detailed plans, ready to be executed if the worst becomes necessary.

    1. What an ignorant fart!

Deterrence works ONLY when u r dealing with an opponent of equal &/or closed military capabilities!

As u yrself have farted "a deterrence is only credible if it can actually be carried out".

What's the nuclear might of the North Korea vis-a-vis yr uncle Sam?

& is North Korea had been brandishing its Nuclear Armed missiles to threaten USA, Japan, South Korea, anybody?

Or just a warning to the possibility threat of been invaded?

Currently, based on military surveillance, NKorea has NO ICBM to reach anywhere further than Japan! So what threats to US?

What IS NKorea's aim of deterrence if not mutually destruction of the maximum level within its reachable target?

Thus, NKorea's short range nuclear arsenal is just a military warning to its fores! It's NOT an attacking weapon! There is NO, or stretch in yr farted imagination a hit further - a weaken, deterrence issue here!

The worst can only comes from outside, especially hawky Yankee doodles who have been toying with these nuclear first strike to 'win' their war!

      Don't f*cking lies!

Indeed, "if all korean r given a choice to pick, korean regardless eastwestnorthsouth shd hv unified long time ago"

      But WHO stopped that choice?

None other than yr uncle Sam's insistent of homegrown politic interference!

      Wakakakaka…

"bully1 is here to protect korean to fight bully4 in the hope that unification happen the soonest"

      !!!

      Wrong!

USofA is persistently hard-headed in maintaining the vassal status of SKorea , just like Nippon!

These two vassal states r the first line trench when US starts any war in the Asia Pacific region.

So, 犬养mfer, r "this people" given the choice to believe or not to - to the constant US determination of their national fate?

U know how to lie, ke?
