Déjà vu 1999?

Malaysiakini - Pro-Najib blog whacks Dr M over rally rendezvous

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been consistent in his opposition to street protests, and his administration had come down hard on supporters of his former deputy Anwar Ibrahim who vented their frustration on the streets.

But this evening, the former premier made a surprising visit to Bersih 4, with his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Ali heralding the protest as a display of people's power.

Taking Mahathir to task over this, MyKMU.net recounted the Reformasi era as well as Anwar's black-eye incident and questioned if the former premier has now become desperate.

"It appears that Mahathir who is called a prominent statement is now acknowledging street protests.

"What has happened? Is he so desperate to achieve his personal political agenda to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak that he is willing to lower his statesman status?"

And also read Malaysiakini - This is people's power, says Siti Hasmah in her response to a query on what she thought of Bersih.

The elderly couple have been flabbergastingly bizarre, supporting the Bersih protest, which Mahathir had previously condemned and brutally repressed. We have witnessed the ultimate height of hypocrisy. Mahathir has taken a leaf out of Lim Kit Siang's book to (if but now necessary) make a pact with his own Devil.

I have to say there is plausibility in some pro UMNO blogs that the former PM is so mucho desperate to remove Najib for you-know-who, but ironically which indirectly tells us that Najib seems seated in his PM position rather securely if not comfortably despite the various daily poo flung against him, whether from Pakatan, Bersih, Mahathir his media mouthpieces like former NST group boss, Pak Kadir Jasin and former info minister Zam, UMNO and even a SB man (who we all know is in reality a M man).

Perhaps wily Ku Li senses this when he said I have no problem with Najib, even revealing he won't stand in GE-14.

Mind you, Mahathir's political agenda is not for your interests but for his own, which will be more of the same as per his 22-year draconian rule, including silly but humongous expenditure of public funds for his silly game of comeuppance from his humongous chip on the shoulder against Singapore. Do read my earlier post The 3rd 'Successor'.

We're surrounded every which way by UMNO and its frightful financial profligacy.

Now, why do I say that?

Because even if Azmin Ali's PKR's magic 30 again does eventuate and successfully overthrow Najib, there is no guarantee of a so-called 'Azmin Ali/Lim KS/Ambiga' "unity government" comprising 50/50 BN and Pakatan MPs.

I reckon that once Najib has been overthrown by an UMNO coterie making use of Pakatan's 88 MPs (does this include PAS MPs?), wakakaka, the 30 UMNO MPs will conveniently return to the Mothership and BN under new-old (wakakaka again) continues its rule, changing the PM but not its "PM" or "Pathetic Methods".

Malaysiakini's Racial imbalance at rally, Chinese dominate informs us that unlike previous Bersih rallies (and the missing PAS mob), the Chinese comprise 80% of Bersih's protesters. Can this be a déjà vu of 1999 when the Chinese came to Mahathir's rescue after the Malays abandoned him?

Oh those Chinese, siding with a man who dislikes them most and against a man who tried to develop kamcheng and be their Ah Gor - apa lagi Cina mahu, wakakaka.

  4. Of all the creatures on this planet, politicians are the most poisonous, cunning, hypocritical etc of them all. It is a mistake to append labels like 'statesman', 'honourable' to such creatures.

    "Do not ape a politician."
( --- a famous saying that I just made up).

Regarding the racial imbalance yesterday at Bersih 4, there is the danger that it will be
exploited and spun as Chinese trying to topple a Malay government, and sure as clockwork, your sweetie has gone to town with this theme....

  6. Mahathir has to go all the way to kick Najib out.He has gone to far to turn back now.To raised the white flag now means that Najib is the victor. Then,it is the beginning of the end of Mukriz's political career. It is either Najib goes or Mukriz will be driven out by Najib's men.

  7. THIS IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF THE STRATEGY "THE END JUSTIFY THE MEANS"

.IT IS OH SO JEWISH.WHO CARES ABOUT MORAL ISSUES ANYWAY?
IS IT NOT POLITICS AN ART OF DECEPTION N A SCIENCE OF EXECUTION.

A POLITICIAN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A HYPOCRITE.OTHERWISE,THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE A PREACHER.

AND A PREACHER WILL BE CONDEMNED TO HELL IF THEY MAKE KNOWN THEIR HYPOCRISY.
INSTEAD,A POLITICIAN WOULD BE HONOURED AS A BRILLIANT STRATEGIST.

ALL POLITICAL SCIENCE KNOWS THAT.THEY ONLY LACK THE GUTS!

  8. Mahathir at his age really had the balls to go join the rally. But where are the rest of Mahathir's gang?Especially the main beneficiaries if Najib is toppled?Like Mr Muhyiddin and Shapie Apdal.Do not tell me these two main players are like Anwar and Azmin, always hiding behind or under their mamas sarongs, when the going gets tough.

    1. don't be too harsh with those two as they quite wisely don't want to be seen by UMNO as supportive of Bersih. But Mahathir is desperate, mucho desperado lah, as he knows he has little time left to get rid fo Najib so that Mukhriz will have a chance. The irony is that even if Najib gets deposed and Moody ascnds to eb PM, there is no guarantee that Moody will nurture and then give way to Mukhriz, and we know Mukhriz without daddy is not much of a politician as he's way too nice and soft

  9. This Bersih 4 rally has confirmed my previous arguments that PKR lacks good Malay leaders. The absence of PAS's active participation in this recent Bersih rally proves that PKR do not have a lot of Malay support.Even Mat Sabu and gang do not have the magnet to attract the Malays to come out in full support of Bersih.

The Chinese, who used to be the minority in rallies or demonstrations are now in the majority. This is the main reason that I have been saying that the opposition cannot win GE14,come rain, thunder or tsunami.

The young crop of potentially talented and smart young Malay leaders that the DAP have, have the next eight years to grow up.Maybe in GE 16th for an opposition federal gomen?

  12. Mahathir do not want to lose face as he had called for najb to resign but najib refused. So Mahathir will continue until Najib steps down voluntarily or is made to step down. What I don't like is Mahathir and opposition politicians using dirty tactics to do it. I don't blame Najib for replacing AG and 2nd top man in special branch because these are Mahathir's man.

My initial reaction upon reading this was - What the Fuck is Ktemoc doing a commentary on his own blog here - can he really be this desperate ?

After 50+ posts whacking anybody and everybody who criticises his Beloved Najib, this blog certainly qualifies as a Pro-Najib blog.

  15. "This Bersih 4 rally has confirmed my previous arguments that PKR lacks good Malay leaders." - how? bec not many malay participate in b4? so the 'good' leader r mostly from pas since yr definition of 'good' is one that could garner malay support in b4? it seem u prefer a religious pkr or a racial pkr.

"The Chinese, who used to be the minority in rallies or demonstrations are now in the majority." - maybe, i dun know who could produce the number n statistic, i think it depend on which direction or location, if one is at petaling street, u can almost guarantee 95% chinese, brickfield would give an impression indian is the majority race in kl, jalan tar is as usual mostly malay. so even a protest we cant run away from race.

having said this, i think many analyst overlook one point. the chinese that attend this protest is remarkably huge. solely anecdotal, many of my friend, colleague, class/school mate from primary, secondary n beyond, all is now uncle n aunty choose to participate in b4, honestly i dun know y they become so interested, they rarely talk or care abt politics (bersih is still a apolitical movement abt politics i think) in the past, some dun even know or hear of b1&b2. i guess they listen to too many moving n touching story n tale in the past, especially those related to pas malay n their courage unit amal. we might miss pas but who cares, we just move on. i hope the next ge, 99.99% chinese give our vote to pr, just forget abt the 0.01% najib n bn apologist, especially the few blogger that write shit almost daily.

Let us opposition supporters have the balls to admit that the opposition do not have any good Malay leaders right now.If they do,the Umno/BN would have been chased out in GE 13.Anwar,forget about him.He and Azmin fucked up big time before GE13.Or else Anwar would be roosting in Putrajaya instead of Hilton,Sungei Buloh.
