RT: US police no longer trust FBI – report

The agency has become openly partisan and serves political ends, whistleblowers have said

JUL 26, 2024

Many US state and local law enforcement agencies are refusing to share vital information with the Federal Bureau of Investigation due to concerns that it has become partisan and politicized, according to a whistleblower report submitted to Congress.

The 230-page report was compiled by an alliance of retired and active-duty agents and analysts, who spoke to more than 30 “independent, highly credible” sources across the US.

“They are not only reluctant to work with the FBI but reportedly have decided to no longer share actionable, substantive information on criminal and other intelligence-related activity” with the Bureau, because they believe it “has been operating as a partisan federal agency motivated by a political agenda” in recent years, the report’s authors said.

The report’s existence was first reported on Wednesday in the New York Post. The document itself was sent to the House Judiciary and House Oversight committees and posted online.

The group described a “crisis of confidence” in FBI-led task forces and a “disturbing loss of trust” in the Bureau as a whole, even as Director Christopher Wray testified to Congress about a “complex threat environment” that is unprecedented in his career.

Most sources pointed to the FBI’s response to the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol and the August 2022 raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago.

One of the sources described the FBI’s behavior as “that of a Third World country” and argued it “should be dismantled and its personnel prosecuted and given long prison sentences.”

Pressure to assist with “J6” cases has led to a belief that the Bureau is driven by a “partisan, political agenda.” One source said they could not understand why the FBI was not going after any other groups with the same fervor. Another said that local officers feared they could be targeted “because of their love for the US” and perceived as “domestic terrorists” based on how they vote.

Newer FBI agents “do not bother to conceal their distaste” for traditional political or religious views and openly identify themselves as “woke or liberal,” the head of a multi-agency task force said. Hired on the basis of “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI) guidelines, they are “completely worthless” and “the worst batch of people,” the whistleblowers said.

The FBI academy at Quantico, Virginia at which new agents are trained “promotes a cult of narcissism” and arrogant superiority, while being intolerably politicized, the report claimed. Meanwhile, the Bureau’s Security Division has been abusing the security clearance process to purge conservative-leaning agents from its ranks.

The whistleblowers urged Congress to force the resignation of Wray as “an extreme measure of last resort” and the only way to restore the Bureau’s reputation.

US carries out strike in Iraq as regional tensions worsen

July 31, 2024, 10:33 AM GMT+10, Updated 3 hours ago

BAGHDAD/WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday carried out a strike in Iraq in self defence, U.S. officials told Reuters, as regional tensions rose after an Israeli airstrike in Beirut that Israel said killed Hezbollah's most senior commander.
Iraqi police and medical sources said the strike inside a base south of Baghdad used by Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) killed four members of the group that contains several Iran-aligned armed militias, and wounded four others.

In a statement after the blasts, the Popular Mobilization Forces made no accusation about who was responsible.

U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the United States carried out an airstrike in Musayib, located in Babil province, but did not provide more details on the location.

The officials added that the strike targeted militants that the U.S. deemed were looking to launch drones and posed a threat to U.S. and coalition forces.

The officials did not comment on any casualties.
"This action underscores the United States' commitment to the safety and security of our personnel," one of the officials said.

Multiple rockets were launched toward Iraq's Ain al-Asad airbase housing U.S.-led forces last week, U.S. and Iraqi sources said, with no damage or casualties reported. U.S. officials said none of the rockets hit the base.

Tuesday's action was the first known U.S. strike in Iraq since February, when the U.S. military launched airstrikes in Iraq and Syria against more than 85 targets linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard and Iran-aligned militias.

The 150,000-strong Popular Mobilisation Forces, a state-sanctioned grouping of Iraqi paramilitaries, is dominated by heavily armed and battle-hardened groups loyal to Iran and with close ties to its Revolutionary Guards.

Iraq, a rare ally of both the U.S. and Iran which hosts 2,500 U.S. troops and has Iran-backed militias linked to its security forces, has witnessed escalating tit-for-tat attacks since the Israel-Hamas war erupted in October.

Iraq wants troops from the U.S.-led military coalition to begin withdrawing in September and to formally end the coalition's work by September 2025, Iraqi sources have said, with some U.S. forces likely to remain in a newly negotiated advisory capacity.

The issue is highly politicized, with mainly Iran-aligned Iraqi political factions looking to show that they are again pushing out the country's one-time occupier, while U.S. officials want to avoid giving Iran and its allies a win.

U.S.-led forces invaded Iraq in 2003, toppled former leader Saddam Hussein and then withdrew in 2011, only to return in 2014 to fight Islamic State at the head of a coalition.

Tian Chua suspects Ismail Haniyeh is gunned down by Mossad agents, not surprised if US is mastermind

Tian Chua suspects Ismail Haniyeh is gunned down by Mossad agents, not surprised if US is mastermind

PALESTINIAN Solidarity Secretariat spokesman Tian Chua has described the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh as a cruel and inhumane act by the enemies of Palestine.

Describing Ismail who is close to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as one of the individuals who fight endlessly to defend Palestinians from the tyranny of the Zionist Israeli regime, the former two-term Batu MP whose name is Chua Tian Chang told HarakahDaily that the world “should react to the shocking news by strongly condemning this tyranny”.

Recall that Anwar who was en route to Qatar on a working trip has met with Ismail in May this year.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said he conveyed his condolences to Ismail over the loss of several of his family members who were killed in an air strike by the Israeli regime in April.

Considering such background, the expelled former PKR vice-president further raised the likelihood that Ismail’s murder was carried out by the Zionist regime of Israel through Mossad agents since his death was something that would please them.

Tian Chua (right) with fellow non-Muslim Palestinian activist Mythreyar Mutturamalinggam who recently launched a six-day hunger strike to object Putrajaya’s “eager plan” to sell shares in airports operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of pro-Israel BlackRock

Moreover, it is also not impossible if the US is the mastermind behind this murder. “Although Ismail’s murder is still under investigation, it is not impossible that they (the US and Israel) are the in this kind of issue,” suggested Chua.

“This is because similar incidents have happened to many influential individuals who are anti-Zionist.”

Added the social activist who prior to fighting for the plight of Palestinians in recent times was involved with the Reformasi movement in 1999 following the sacking of Anwar as deputy prime minister (DPM):

“If it is indeed proven that they are the ones who really committed this heinous crime, then it becomes very clear that the Israeli Zionist regime is the real terrorist state and not the Palestinians.

“This is because they always start war after war not only against the Palestinians but also against any party which is anti-Zionist. Therefore, we cannot longer be silent in defending the Palestinians no matter what happens.” – July 31, 2024

PETALING JAYA:
A Penang PAS Youth leader has described Gerakan as a liability to Perikatan Nasional (PN) now due to the actions of its leaders on issues involving alcohol and gambling.

Hafiz Alias, PAS’s deputy youth chief in the state, said Gerakan was behaving in a similar manner as DAP had during its time with the Islamic party in the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat, especially on matters related to gambling.

Is Gerakan deliberately playing dumb despite us (PAS) explaining (the party’s stance) multiple times?
he asked in a video uploaded on TikTok yesterday.

We want to prevent Muslims from doing all sorts of sinful and immoral things.

Hafiz also accused Gerakan of becoming DAP’s mouthpiece, saying the stance of the PN component mirrored that of DAP on similar issues.

If PAS wants to be with Gerakan but Gerakan behaves like DAP, then what’s the use of PAS fighting alongside them?

PAS and Gerakan have been at odds over the role of brewery companies in facilitating fundraising events for Chinese schools.

Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong said Gerakan would not hesitate to leave PN if its coalition allies continued to display religious extremism and infringe on the rights of non-Muslims.

The dispute was sparked by criticism from PAS over a deputy minister accepting a RM3 million mock cheque bearing the Tiger Beer logo at a fundraising event.

Responding to Gerakan’s threat to leave PN, Hafiz said the party was welcome to do so if it disagreed with PN’s direction.

He added that Gerakan was not even influential, claiming that it had contributed hardly anything in Penang and noting its single seat in Malay-majority Kedah.

He said the youth wing of Penang PAS had proposed at the party’s muktamar that the position of state PN chairman, currently held by Gerakan president Dominic Lau, be reassigned.

“He doesn’t function as a chairperson, so there are no meetings, nothing. If there’s a by-election, only PAS and Bersatu contribute while Gerakan does nothing.

If Gerakan wants to quit, go ahead. There are many others who can represent the Chinese (in Penang),
he said, adding that representatives from PAS’s non-Muslim supporters wing (DHPP) were being increasingly accepted.

He said Penang PAS Youth had met yesterday and appointed a new DHPP youth wing chief, who would replace Gerakan’s role in representing the Chinese and Indians in the coalition.

GEORGE TOWN:
Social media influencer Siew Pui Yi today secured a victory against her former business partner Lai Kai Jian after he failed to appear in court.

The High Court delivered its judgment in default on July 26, awarding Siew RM4.3 million which she claimed was fraudulently obtained by Lai, also known as

Mentos
, under the pretext of settling her tax arrears.

In her lawsuit filed earlier this year, Siew accused Lai of absconding with the funds she had provided to pay off her tax dues to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

She said because of the unpaid tax arrears, she had missed four events in Australia due to an LHDN travel ban.

It was upsetting as I could not travel overseas for three months. Fortunately, this has been resolved,
 she said.

In a press conference today, her lawyer K Mahendran said the terms of settlement remained under wraps upon the advice of LHDN.

He said Lai’s whereabouts had yet to be determined, with no developments yet in a case of fraud filed with the George Town police.

Mahendran said the High Court’s ruling in favour of Siew granted her the full amount claimed, including interest and legal costs.

He said the suit was served to Lai’s last known address in the Klang Valley, and advertised in major newspapers.

Siew previously claimed that she had given Lai the money in several instalments, expecting him to liaise with tax agents to clear her arrears.

According to court filings, her ordeal began when she was detained at KLIA on Dec 30, 2023 after being blacklisted by LHDN for the nonpayment of taxes.

She claimed the incident had tarnished her reputation as a prominent social media personality and entertainer, both in the country and internationally.

Siew’s legal team pleaded that Lai had orchestrated a fraudulent scheme, instructing her to remain silent during a Zoom meeting with a purported tax agent named Jack and several LHDN officers.

Despite these payments, Siew discovered that her tax debt remained unpaid.

This judgment is a significant relief for Ms Siew, who was deceived and financially burdened by an individual she trusted,
 said Mahendran.
