Hours before Trump sat down with Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago, Hamas released a video.
Their new spokesman, wearing the red keffiyeh of his predecessor killed in August, had a message for the President of the United States: "We will not give up our weapons."
Let me explain what just happened.
Trump brokered a ceasefire that saved Hamas from total military defeat. Israel controls 53% of Gaza. Hamas's entire leadership is dead. Yahya Sinwar was killed. Mohammed Deif was killed. Abu Obeida was killed in August.
Trump coordinated 500,000 tons of food into Gaza. According to COGAT, between 600 and 800 aid trucks have been entering daily since late October. America kept Gazans from starving while giving Hamas a path to end the war they started and lost.
Phase One of the ceasefire had one requirement: return all hostages and remains within 72 hours.
Today is day 80. There's still one Israeli body in Gaza. Ran Gvili was 24 years old, killed defending Kibbutz Alumim on October 7. His mother is joining Netanyahu in America to beg for her son's body back.
Hamas has violated the ceasefire 64 times. Three IDF soldiers were killed during this "ceasefire." And now they announce they're keeping their weapons. Not last week. Not yesterday. Hours before Trump meets Netanyahu to advance the peace plan.
That's not negotiation. That's spitting in Trump's face.
Phase Two requires Hamas to disarm. Billions in reconstruction aid are ready. An International Stabilization Force is prepared to deploy. A technocratic government is ready to take over. There's a pathway to jobs, infrastructure, and a future for Gaza.
Hamas chose weapons over all of it.
Here's what Netanyahu needs to tell Trump today: "Mr. President, you gave them every chance. They rejected it this morning, hours before I landed. They haven't completed Phase One after 80 days. They've violated the ceasefire 64 times. They're keeping their weapons. They didn't just disrespect Israel. They disrespected you."
Trump has two options. He can push for Phase Two even though Hamas rejected it and keeps weapons. Or he can recognize Hamas chose war and let Israel finish what needs to be done.
Hamas made that choice easy. They did it publicly, on the day of Trump's meeting with Netanyahu, after 64 ceasefire violations, while still holding an Israeli body 80 days past the deadline.
You can't end a war when one side's condition for peace is keeping the ability to restart it.
This is calling a spade as it's-right up to the face!
ReplyDeleteExpecting a torrent of farts coming out from those zionists, pseudo-zionists & zionist arselickers to yarget President Xi & China!
