Israel kills 3 journalists in south Lebanon, new ‘massacre’ in Gaza
- Gaza’s civil defence has warned of mass casualties after the Israeli military blew up a dozen residential buildings in northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp in an attack described as a “major massacre”.
- Three journalists covering Israel’s war on Lebanon have been killed in an apparent targeted Israeli strike on their accommodation in Lebanon’s southern Hasbaiyya area.
- An Israeli delegation will travel to Doha on Sunday after Qatar and the United States announced that negotiators will gather in Qatar’s capital to try and restart talks to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza.
- Israeli attacks have killed at least 19 people across Lebanon over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since the start of the war in October 2023 to 2,593.
- In Gaza, at least 42,847 people have been killed and 100,544 wounded in Israeli attacks.
Israeli strike on shelter – At least 18 killed in Nuseirat camp attack
Dozens of people have been killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Thursday.
That includes at least 18 people killed in an attack on a school-turned-shelter in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, where hundreds of Palestinians had taken refuge.
Another strike shortly afterwards in the neighbouring Maghazi camp killed and injured several more people.
Israel targets journalists to ‘blind the world’ to Lebanon war
Israel is, allegedly, a democracy. That’s what they always say: ‘We are the only democracy in the Middle East.’
They are now shutting down free speech violently.
What’s happening now is a deliberate message to all journalists. We have to now leave. Not just us. But every other organisation that was here – local news organisations. All now have to leave because of what has happened.
This is Israel’s democracy.
Clearly, they are trying to blind the world to what’s going on in southern Lebanon by targeting journalists.
Like I said, it doesn’t matter whether you like that news organisation or you dislike that news organisation. If you are a democracy, freedom of speech is a core value.
And that value has been literally turned into twisted metal and concrete here.

Al Mayadeen TV channel confirms cameraman killed in Israeli strike in south Lebanon
Pan-Arab TV channel Al Mayadeen says its cameraman was killed in an Israeli air strike on a residence housing journalists in southern Lebanon’s Hasbaiyya town overnight.
Two other journalists were also reported killed in the attack that appears to have targeted the media workers.
The killing comes just two days after Israel carried out an air strike on an office belonging to Al Mayadeen, which is politically allied with Hezbollah and is based in Beirut.
“Al Mayadeen holds the Israeli occupation accountable for the attack on a known media office for a known media outlet,” Al Mayadeen TV said, following the Israeli strike on its office on the outskirts of Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Two Al Mayadeen journalists reporting on military activity along the southern Lebanese border with Israel were killed in an Israeli strike on November 21, 2023.
There has been plenty of Casus Belli launched against Israeli soil from Lebanese soil from October 8 2023 until now.
