Umno never protested bearing DAP flags unlike PAS - Pahang MB

Umno vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail today turned the tables on PAS for criticising his party’s cooperation with DAP.
He said that while PAS uses the term “UMDAP” to ridicule Umno for working with the Pakatan Harapan component party, he claimed there was a time when PAS members attended street protests holding DAP flags.
“Every day PAS repeats their UMDAP, UMDAP, UMDAP criticism, but we must remember one thing, so far, there has yet to be an Umno member who goes to protest on the streets while holding a DAP flag,” he said.
The Pahang menteri besar said this in a speech at the Umno general assembly this evening.
“UMDAP” is a term coined by the federal opposition to criticise Umno for forming a government with Pakatan Harapan, which includes former arch-nemesis DAP.
Adding further, Wan Rosdy (above), who is also the Jelai assemblyperson, accused PAS of using Islam for political mileage, saying the party was also willing to change sides.

He also called for Umno members to help repair the damage caused by PAS.
“PAS can change its colours for politics. They can turn into a green turtle like the one shown on the main screen during our party president’s policy speech.
“Religion is only used by them to incite the rakyat, especially the younger generation.
“Insults, swear words, cursing, lies, and slander were normalised in their campaigns. Such a strategy is destructive to the minds of younger Malays, who will one day inherit our beloved country.
“Thus, it is our responsibility to repair this situation,” he said.
Najib’s house arrest
Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy also touched on Umno’s efforts to seek freedom for jailed former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
He said the party will never stop fighting for its former president despite recent setbacks.

He also raised the issue of a purported royal order to allow Najib to serve the rest of his jail sentence under house arrest.
The order was allegedly an addendum to the partial pardon Najib received in February that halved his jail sentence to six years and discounted his fine from RM210 million to RM50 million.
Wan Rosdy said the party leadership takes this matter seriously.
“The party president has signed an affidavit confirming that he had seen the order himself. And so did I, where I issued an affidavit saying that I knew about the existence of the order.
“Impossible for the party president as the deputy prime minister of His Majesty’s government, and I as the Pahang menteri besar under the rule of the sultan of Pahang, would dramatise this issue.
“It’s impossible. Because the risk we are taking in this matter is not small.
“Thus, I would like to ask all party delegates and Umno members to trust the president and today’s top leadership in this matter. As long as there is a way, and as long as we are still alive, we will continue to fight to get justice for Bossku,” he said.
