■ U.S. RESPONSE: Responding to Sunday's drone attack on U.S. troops in Jordan – in which three were killed and dozens wounded – President Joe Biden said Friday that "U.S. military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack U.S. forces."

  • According to CENTCOM, U.S. military forces struck over 85 targets in Iraq and Syria, with precision munitions and numerous aircraft – including long-range bombers flown from the U.S. Iraq's PM called the statement from the White House said it had informed Iraq's government ahead of the strikes as "lies."

  • CENTCOM said it would continue to take action and that Iran's Revolutionary Guards and affiliated militias "continue to represent a direct threat to the stability of Iraq, the region, and the safety of Americans."

  • Iraq's military condemned the airstrikes as a violation of Iraqi sovereignty, warning they could lead "Iraq and the region into dire consequences."

  • Syrian state media reported that "American aggression" on a number of sites resulted in ten killed and 18 wounded. Iraq's government said 16 people were killed, including civilians, in its territory.
