PETALING JAYA: A 23-year-old bride-to-be has alleged that she was raped by a bomoh known as “Ayah Su”.
She told police the incident happened while she was getting “exorcised” at Tendong, Pasir Mas, on Thursday.
Pasir Mas district police chief Nasaruddin Md Nasir said the incident happened after the victim met the suspect, 67, at a shop to tell him about her situation.
She said the suspect then offered her his services and asked her to visit him at his home at 3pm with her fiance.
“After that, the man asked the woman to enter a room through a back door while being accompanied by his wife known as ‘Mak Su’,” he said in a Harian Metro report.
Nasaruddin said the victim was asked to take off her pants as part of the “treatment” when they were left alone in the room.
Nasaruddin added the “session” lasted 30 minutes, ending with the bomoh raping her. The suspect then asked the woman to visit him again for a follow-up session.
He said the suspect also warned the woman not to tell anyone about the incident, but the victim opened up to her fiance and her family before lodging the police report.
“Following the report, the suspect, who is a pensioner, was detained by the police at midnight the same day at his home,” he said.
Nasaruddin said the bomoh had been operating for 36 years and police now suspect that more than 10 women had been his victims.
He said the suspect’s wife, who is in her 60s, claimed she was unaware of her husband’s alleged immoral activities.
“The suspect has been remanded for seven days beginning yesterday and the case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code,” he said.
