Well, this one will be a test of the PM who is also the Internal Security Minister. For the sins of publishing the insulting cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) 2 newspapers, the
Sarawak Tribune and Chinese language
Guangming, have been penalized. One was suspended indefinitely while the latter for a couple of weeks.
Now, Confederation of Malaysian NGO’s spokesperson Izham Nayam reported that the
New Straits Times (NST) have done the same thing, by the publication of a
similar cartoon [with association to the blasphemous caricatures] in its
'Life & Times' section. He cried out that the
NST cartoon was
biadap dan kurang ajar (rude and uncouth), and demanded that action be taken against
NST Group Editor Brendan Pereira.
Let's see how the PM handles this!
