Leadership dilemma of Pakatan Rakyat

Is Pakatan Rakyat so bereft of suitable leaders to lead the coalition that it must rely solely on Anwar Ibrahim?

Even to many of his 'supporters', Anwar Ibrahim is acknowledged to be (grudgingly) NOT the correct person to become PM in the event Pakatan wins majority rule, yet they persist, rationalizing (in Malaysia-Today’s publishing of my post The elephant in ABU) with so-called Chinese saying such as

'... ride a donkey while you seek a horse', … [meaning] … that if you do not have a horse (the ideal choice) but only a donkey and a pig to choose from then you should make use of the donkey. And they say RIDE that donkey while you seek that ideal horse, not let that donkey ride you ...'

Ironically, the last phrase is so true and wise, namely, I and many others have no wish to let the donkey ride us wakakaka.

Amd our reason is best explained by another visitor to M2D wrote what many of us believe:

The trouble with riding a donkey while seeking for the horse in this instance ... is that we KNOW that the donkey we are sitting on is the same as the current devil donkey we want so desperately to get rid of !

The donkey we thought we could make use of will NOT allow you to discard him once he reaches the throne ... he will put in place all the screws tighening such that you will be shouting helplessly, like how you are shouting in vain NOW under the current goon.

This donkey will turn into a tiger to eat you up.

So we don’t want Anwar Ibrahim, the elephant who is a donkey who is a tiger - basically a chimera.

But if you ask those anwaristas for a substitute to Anwar Ibrahim (assuming hypothetically he is imprisoned followung successful appeal by the AG), guess who they will pick?

Yes, you guess it, either Wan Azizah or Nurul Izzah (or if another of Anwar’s daughters were to participate in politics, then her!). Because in their view, ultimately the leader must be Anwar or at least a clone (family member) of Anwar, so go ahead and convince me if that mentality does not reek of cultism.

Let’s forget about Wan Azizah because in truth she has been an unwilling politician, only getting involved directly because she had wanted her husband freed from incarceration (in the Sodomy I era). Now that that’s done with, she is quite happy to fade off into the background. But she has been compelled into becoming President of PKR because Anwar Ibrahim is avoiding the direct responsibility of the job (though clinging on to de facto power), and because Azmin Ali may not yet be publicly acceptable as the PKR No 1, though may be assumed to be the de facto head. Besides, Wan Azizah showed she was incapable of good firm and fair leadership in the last PKR party polls.

That leaves us with Nurul Izzah.

Please tell me, other than she is Anwar’s daughter and thus the so-named Princess Reformasi, what qualities or outstanding achievement of hers have qualified her (as the proposed alternative to her father Anwar Ibrahim) to be federal Opposition Leader and Pakatan’s PM-in-waiting?

Still thinking of a reason? Wakakaka. Again, isn’t it pure cultism, or what I term Kim Jong-Nurul, where I wrote:

Many have been the times I read/heard of the preposterous proposals for Nurul to be nominated as the PM of a Pakatan-ruled Malaysia, in the event of the non availability of her father. Those proposals have been so unrealistically moronic, leaving me flabbergasted by the puerile mentality of those blind-as-bats idol-worshippers. Then I could only think of poor hard working, politically far superior Fuziah Salleh, who only lacks the (questionable) pedigree to be considered!

So I ask again the opening sentence-query of this post: Is Pakatan Rakyat so bereft of suitable leaders to lead the coalition that it must rely solely on Anwar Ibrahim?

Let’s be frank and start off by acknowledging (whether we accept it or not) that the leader and potential PM-in-waiting has to be a Malay, full stop. Even if we claim to be personally NOT racist, be truthful in recognizing that we are a very race-conscious society, so race is still the No 1 consideration when selecting a PM …

… which simplifies this discussion by removing from considerations people like Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and wakakaka, Tian Chua etc.

One could of course argue in special favour of Lim GE by reminding everyone that when a Malacca underage Malay girl was raped (statutorily), who stood up for her rights and demanded justice for the abuse against her? Who was sent to prison for her cause while her rapist not only escaped totally unscathed but was subsequently even honoured with a Tan Sri award?

Any UMNO or PAS person?

Forget about UMNO, also bearing in mind this was at a time (1994-5) when Anwar Ibrahim, the so-called reformasi man, was already DPM.

As for PAS, its members may be bloody good at protesting against Valentine Day or shows by Beyoncé but when it came to crimes like statutory rape (or incest), they were as silent as sand mites in the still of any Arabian desert night.

Read The Trial of Lim Guan Eng to know more about Lim's sacrifice for a Malay girl. Also recall the following letter published in the December 1998 issue of ALIRAN MONTHLY:

As you languish in prison, I have had plenty of time to reflect on you and your idealism.

Rightly or wrongly, the Democratic Action Party has long tried to have a 'MALAYSIAN' character when the vast majority in the country still perceive it to be essentially a political party for the ethnic Chinese.

I realise that recently people like you have tried hard to attract Malaysians, especially Malays, to make the DAP truly Malaysian, but not too successfully, in my view.

Then came an explosive event - the Rahim Thamby Chik case - which made a lot of Malays sit up and change their perceptions of the DAP.

That case rocked MALAY society to its very foundation.

Your conduct and role in pursuit of truth in that scandal earned my deepest admiration. The series of events following that scandal, culminating in the judicial proceedings against you, have turned out to be a classic example of how a verdict in a 'court of law' has become subordinate to the 'court of public opinion'.

Ask any MALAY mother anywhere. Few would agree that the famous grandmother in that scandal should have been abandoned by UMNO, and the under-aged girl should have been so blatantly violated and her family silenced.

By your words and deeds, you challenged the government, police, media, and the judiciary, and exposed yourself to certain incarceration and vindictive punishment by Dr. Mahathir and the political elite.

I have always believed that God works in mysterious ways. Inexplicably, He chose you to put the DAP into sharp focus. He chose you to force Malaysians to look at themselves and reflect on the abuse of basic values in our society.

To that extent, God in His wisdom made the DAP no longer just a Chinese political party, but, overnight, into a truly Malaysian one which fights for the deprived.

I am a MALAY with a family of my own.

I shall remember you as a CHINESE father who fought for the rights of a MALAY grand-mother and her sexually abused grand-daughter.

I know that when you decided to take on the case, you knew the price for your action would be heavy for you and your family, personally and politically.

Today, you are still paying the price.

You languish alone in prison. Ironically, as in Nelson Mandela's case, the longer they lock you up, the greater will be your stature, the more powerful the focus on the issues you fought for.

I also know that, all through this, you can look into the eyes of your wife, children and parents,and say, with deserved pride and honour, that "Guan Eng has not prostituted his dignity, decency and self-respect in the face of oppression and tyranny".

You have truly given new meaning to the maxim, 'Politics With Honour'.

More importantly, you have made me look in the mirror and ask, 'Who Am I?

What have I done to speak out against the evil forces which confronted two Malay kampong women? Why have I remained silent? Have I lost my decency and self-respect?'

In all honesty, I cannot say I have the guts to look into the eyes of my family members and say I have done them proud. I have kept silent.

I owe it to you, Guan Eng, for opening my eyes and stirring my conscience.

Our inaction and apathy have allowed oppression, tyranny and injustice to continue. We have to search our hearts and souls to find ways to make up for our negligence and ineptitude.

To you, Guan Eng, I offer prayers from my family.

May the blessings of the Almighty continue to give you strength, courage and tenacity to do what is right and just for all Malaysians.

At least Marina Mahathir wrote: There are injustices in the law which are mind-boggling ... The lesson is clear - choose your rapist carefully ... As a woman, especially a Muslim woman, I am angry, disgusted and ashamed ... As a mother, I now have real fears for my daughter. What protection can we hope for our daughters if, in the interests of politics, a minor can so easily be sacrificed?

Most of us are still waiting for Dr Mahathir to apologize to Lim GE for the unmitigated injustice of Lim’s imprisonment!

But nonetheless, notwithstanding Narmi Saila’s heartfelt statement that [she] have always believed that God works in mysterious ways. Inexplicably, He chose you to put the DAP into sharp focus. ... it took DAP another 15 years before the party could make a beachhead in the heartland but the fact remains that it's only a beachhead - see UMNO fears DAP beachhead - so effectively we are still a long way from most Malays seeing DAP as a truly Malaysian political party for all Malaysians, and accepting a Chinese PM like Lim GE as PM, no matter that he did more than any Malay politician (including Anwar Ibrahim) for an abused underage Malacca Malay girl and her grandmother.

So, where does that leave us? Nurul again? Wakakaka.

Actually there are talented and competent Malays in both PAS and … gasp … PKR wakakaka, but whether they have the leadership persona is another question.

However, I dare say there are many such capable leaders with PM-persona in PAS though alas, they suffer from one (self-induced) major disabling handicap – their persistent obsession to ‘prohibit and punish’ the twaddly trifle and trivia, as witnessed in their anti Valentine Day, anti Western style (musical) shows, anti Inul Daratista shows, 'anti inconsequential this' and 'anti inconsequential that' attitude, which practically render PAS politicians unsuitable for the Premiership and important ministerial functions in Malaysian politics.

And then there is that wretched issue of PAS wanting to implement hudud into our legal system.

But this is not to say the more tolerant PAS leaders like Mat Sabu or (regrettably junior in PAS hierarchy) Nizar Jamualuddin cannot be, but they themselves are constrained by their party policies (just described above). Yes, you can thus blame PAS for pushing us unwillingly into Anwar Ibrahim's arms.

So, back to square one, is Pakatan Rakyat so bereft of suitable leaders to lead the coalition that it must rely solely on Anwar Ibrahim?

Not if (a) PAS recognizes that Malaysia is a multi-religious multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society and is prepared to discard the idea of introducing hudud as well as revise their party policies and ideology to accept the reality of the wonderful plurality of Malaysia and her Malaysians, or ...

... (b) Ku Li joins Pakatan wakakaka.

The elephant in ABU

This morning, I read RPK’s two posts, Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do and Imagine.

Needless to say, the former ruffled a few Chinese feathers when RPK wrote:

I can see that many Chinese are prepared to accept the slight corruption and slight everything else in the interest of kicking out a Malay government. This sounds like this is not about eradicating corruption but about kicking out the Malays. From where I am sitting this sounds like it is about Ketuanan Cina versus Ketuanan Melayu.

Yeah, sure, the Chinese are practical and realistic people, not like the Malays who are emotional. The Chinese can accept slight corruption as long as Umno is kicked out. Just make sure the money is in a red and not white envelope.

Do you know that another word for realism is hypocrisy?

Wakakaka. It’s in the same vein as his description in an earlier post of those aged Chinese as ‘prostitutes’ who collected the white-pows from Ibrahim Ali.

Some outraged Chinese would argue ‘realism’ is not ‘hypocrisy’ but ‘pragmatism’.

In RPK’s context, ‘realism’ means ‘the tendency to view or represent things as they really are’.

‘Hypocrisy’, on the other hand, means ‘a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess’.

Thus RPK has been incorrect in equating the two words. However, my ‘pragmatism’ is most appropriate because it means ‘action or policy dictated by consideration of the immediate practical consequences rather than by theory or dogma’.

And I doubt even the most angry Chinese Malaysians would argue against my choice (of word) as Chinese minorities in SE Asia, whether in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines etc, have been known to be 'pragmatic', principally as a requisite for survival among the majority (and enviously resentful) natives.

But all the above are mere semantics, though I would say Peter’s suggestion of ‘Ketuanan Cina versus Ketuanan Melayu’ is way over the top.

But as usual RPK is deliberately provocative if not anything. He likes to tease, instigate and of course provoke to make a point. But what is his point?

IMHO, it’s exactly the same as what blogger steadyaku47 has urged in his post ABU : I will listen to you. Will you listen to me?

Relevant extracts are as follows:

Because we have endured so many abuses by this corrupt BN government many of you have come to the conclusion that we must have change at any costs. Change this bloody BN government first because anything will be better then a BN government. You are all confident that once change has been effected you will ensure that whoever is in government will do as you want them to do – govern this country in a responsible and accountable manner. We elected this BN government into power. We allowed them to be in power for 53 years. And it is only at this 13th general election that we are hoping to change them? Change them with what?

Who amongst you can tell me that you can tell any Prime Minister of this country how to govern this country?

That is the reality. [...]

Do you understand that once these bastards are in power you are of no significance to them until the next general election? And before the next general election comes there will be enough time for them to do what they will to ensure that they have their way with us. And who will stand in their way to stop them from doing this? Petra? Bersih? Steadyaku47? The Third Force? Mahasiswa? HUH! [...]

This is why we need to start without any compromises because once we are prepared to accept a less then perfect leader then we are telling him that we will accept a less then perfect government. And where will that lead us to? [...]

I am not convinced that we should accept second best to give ABU a better chance to succeed. It will be an insult to the intelligence of those that support ABU to think that they will accept flawed leaders – because is that not the very reasons they want UMNO out? I cannot agree that if I support ABU then I must accept it warts and all.

Now what do we have to do to make ABU a reality? To start with let us recognize the elephant that is in the room – Anwar Ibrahim. I have put in my two cents worth on this guy. I have worked for over two years on my blog in support of this guy....until, like so many others, I became another one of those who now know him for what he really is! And I said enough is enough. He is not fit to be our PM!

I do it not with the intentions of giving UMNO an advantage over what we want to do.

Not with the intentions of weakening your resolve to make ABU a reality.

I do so with the intention of what I think is the right thing to do. And that is to start our ABU campaign in the right manner, with the right leaders and for the right reasons. If what I do makes ABU falters –then let it falter for the right reason – and that is to rid our ABU campaign of anything that could later harm it.

As I read it, RPK’s two posts (mentioned at beginning) are basically driving at the same point, Chinese hypocrisy notwithstanding wakakaka, that we must not compromise on standards, especially that for a Pakatan PM-in-waiting. If we do, then we would not be far off from changing one UMNO for another UMNO.

So, for those who have been/are adamant about putting Anwar Ibrahim on the hot seat in Putrajaya, with whatever it takes including 'taking to the streets' and storming the Bastille, let me say what RPK and steakyaku47 have more or less said, your intention (you may not realize it) is not reformasi but deformasi, a movement to benefit one particular person rather than the rakyat.

In other words, ABU would then be considered as a cultist movement rather than one for democracy, freedom of expression and human rights.

And as steadyaku47 warns, once someone not fit to be PM sits as one, it’ll take years (maybe another 52) to dislodge him, because as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, ... and I refer to steadyaku47’s words again (note in particular 2nd sentence):

Zaid Ibrahim's 3 steps to redemption

Malaysiakini - Zaid: I regret challenging Azmin for PKR deputy

Once reviled as an apostate (though not of Islam but) of ‘man man lai-ism’, Zaid was the very epitome of a syaitan-ish frog which came from the UMNO pits of hell to challenge the PKR consecrated Messiah and his Chosen One.

That he resigned from his position as Law Minister on principles, in a protest against UMNO minister allowing the misuse of ISA against a Chinese news media reporter and a DAP politician, didn’t mitigate for him at all since he had committed a far greater sin, in brazenly and sinfully challenging anointed Azmin Ali, Anwar's heir apparent and destined by Providence to ascend and ascend and ascend (at least guaranteed within PKR).

To anwaristas, Zaid was also a man driven to bitterness by his loss in the Hulu Selangor by-election to a tambi novice (can’t remember his name - was it Kamal, Nathan or Hands-kissy-one?), but they fail to take into account who had contributed to his loss, such as providing UMNO with photographs of him in the Muslim indiscretion of yamseng-ing. According to RPK, the backstabber was not an UMNO or pro UMNO person but … gulp .. gasp .. no, surely not, it can't be .. alamak … a PKR man – one who saw Zaid as a most imminent potential threat and wanted him to lose.

And they still can’t tell why Zaid has the right to be bitter, when he was sabotaged kau kau from behind by his (then) own party member.

But from the majority of the comments in the MKINI article, those who had previously reviled, condemned and excoriated him, are now effusive in their praise of him as a good repentant man, repentant in his blasphemy against the Messiah and His Chosen One. Examples of some wonderful heartfelt touchy feely comments are as follows:

For Malaysian political leader can admit own mistake is rare! It is not easy! Zaid had gain a little bit of my confidence on him! Well done! He can learn from his mistakes! A person who can admit making own mistakes will have room to improve! You know what, when I am doing my meditation, I am searching mistakes that I had made and finding a solution for it!

Bless you, inner soul searcher, though the next is probably the best:

Let's be gracious and accept Zaid's admission of error at face value. For all his strategic mistakes, Zaid still comes across as a reasonable man with his heart in the right place. I detect that Zaid is intelligent enough to know he has no other recourse but honesty and candour - and a willingness to apologize for his mistakes. That already places him many levels above the typical Umno leader.

... many levels above the typical UMNO leader ... UMNO leader only? But wait, that may well be right after all, wakakaka!

But we mustn’t neglect the superiority of science (maths) over legal gymnastics, as in:

Zaid, I am glad u pull down your face and admit your mistakes, you are lawyer, azmin is mathematician, he carefully calculated risk, so you fail in your calculations, being a newbie in pkr, learn from jui meng, he reject challenge for election, again you fail in learning, both of u are old timer lawyers, and you also fail in those new opportunist surrounding u when u form kita party, either frogs from Umno or PR, now u made a right choice close shop, and move on, waste no time, come out and fight BN, be sincere and honest gentlemen ok, u still young to be a good leader, our next pm will be anwar ok, wind of change is so strong now.

… either frogs from Umno or ... Now, wait a minute! Surely you don't mean to insult people like Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin Ali and inner coterie who like Zaid were from UMNO?

Anyway, dear readers, what do you make of the MKINI headlines of Zaid: I regret challenging Azmin for PKR deputy, bearing in mind of course that news headlines are determined not by the characters making the news but rather by editors of the news media. Okay, perhaps let’s ignore the headlines and continue with the content.

In an interview with MKINI, Zaid said it was a mistake to have challenged Azmin Ali for the number two post during the last PKR party election.

Mistake eh?

Before we guess/speculate/agak/conjecture or wish wakakaka, let’s read what Zaid was reported as having said.

"The regret I think was ... challenging Azmin for the deputy post in PKR, because I didn't know the party.”

What does ‘regret’ in Zaid’s statement mean within the context of ‘not knowing the party’?

Was his 'regret' about feeling sorrow or remorse for his act?

Thus, should we take it as Zaid's remorse for challenging Azmin Ali who was a far better candidate for the party deputy presidential position?

Or, was it because he (Zaid) f* it up by challenging Azmin "because [he] didn't know the party.” ?

Thus, was it his disappointment for (two possibilities here):

(a) standing against a superior candidate leading needlessly to the acrimonious aftermath coming from finding out the party polling process was not kosher as he expected, but in practical terms a standard (or lack of) totally acceptable in PKR since neither the people oversighting the process said a word on the numerous reports of alleged dodgyness other than to look like a deer caught in a car’s headlights ...

... nor the party complaints bureau explained away many discrepancies brought out by independent personalities such as Haris Ibrahim and Jonson Chong, and which eventually led to his (and many others') exit from PKR?

Or,

(b) standing against an entrenched interest, who controlled which people runs the party, when he (Zaid) was still too new to appreciate the ins & outs of a cozy chummy coterie to fight against them, as evidenced by the marginalization of far far more experienced party members like Nallakaruppan and Gobala and Chegubard and Mustaffa Kamil and Jenapala and ...?

Then, what about “The party was not ready for direct elections; it was a mess... looking back, it was not the right decision (to challenge Azmin).”

Did Zaid mean, the designated member to win the deputy presidential post was already decided on, but the party was not really for direct elections to bring that about without also producing the ensuing mess.

"My mistake was... I had a lot of support in the party; I thought I could do something different, to change PKR. But I overlooked this fact that (PKR supremo) Anwar Ibrahim needed somebody he could trust because of his position. (After all) he might be going in (to jail over Sodomy II). So challenging Azmin was a mistake in that sense."

Go ahead and analyse this one, wakakaka.

Anyway, the three steps for Zaid’s redemption by PKR are as follows:

(1) Apologize to Anwar – which Zaid has done on the eve of the Sodomy II judgment, though being the civil gentleman he is, I suspect he did that presumably as a gesture of goodwill and support for a besieged Anwar.

(2) Show repentance – it may be said he has done so, as witnessed by the transformation of excoriations of hatred to exclamations of hallelujah for him wakakaka.

(3) Kiss AI’s hands a la what’s his name (Kamal, Nathan or Hands-kissy-one?) - certainly a major final step which will send the anwaristas wild. Zaid may even receive a Garden of Eden garland wakakaka.

Mini tsunamis of GE-13

Wakakaka!

When I posted Next MB of Kedah some 3 weeks ago, it was first picked up by Malaysia-Today and then Harakah. I suppose they had either thought I was on to something wakakaka or it was an amusing post.

But now my matey Ong Kian Ming, a political scientist, mentioned the same thing in a forum at Bangsar which was reported in Malaysiakini’s Pakatan will only win Putrajaya in 14th GE though his principal point was greeted not unexpectedly with anger by Anwar’s mindless moronic Myrmidons – How dare he! How dare MKINI reporter Aidila Razak even reported it? Wakakaka.

Some comments went as follows:

This is yet another piece of speculation-not based on solid research. Spin on, OKM!

His title is Political scientist ? hahaha..by inventing bull & cows stories for Malaysiakini to print...what a rubbish !

It’s the typical and very much lamentable Malaysian mentality of gross partisan (blind-as-bats) emotion, more so to accuse OKM of ‘spinning’, implying OKM (like kaytee wakakaka) is a BN-paid spinmeister and without knowing who OKM owes his political allegiance to.

I’m not going to needlessly defend him other than to say OKM shows his thoroughly professional character by predicting a GE-13 election result not favourable to Pakatan. Good on you OKM, keep the faith (of Truth).

Wait, maybe I’ll say something for OKM after all wakakaka ['tis my privilege as a blogger ;-).

I once asked OKM what he thought of Helen Ang (then writing for Malaysiakini) and her very anti DAP and anti Lim GE articles. OKM replied (words to the effect): “Helen Ang represents a very useful and welcomed voice in Malaysian socio-politics. We can always do with more of her.”

Now, that’s the sort of person OKM has been, is, and I am confident, will continue to be.

But let’s get back on track. OKM said while there won’t be a repeat of the 2008 tsunami in GE-13 and that BN will hang on to federal power, there will be mini localised tsunamis in Sabah, Sarawak and Johor.

Hah, Johor! Recall my post Johor's silent Tionghua revolution where I quoted Professor Abu Hassan Hasbullah of think-tank Zentrum Future Studies, that “… its end-of-year surveys have seen Johor Chinese catch up with and possibly overtake their northern kin in terms of backing PR. Opposition leaders in the state estimate that they won 55 per cent of Chinese votes in the last election but ….. support from the community has surged to close to 90 per cent.”

Obviously, from the Zentrum survey, we can say that the Johor Chinese have reached their political breaking point. They want to send BN out. Their decision would have been further fortified (concretized) by their perception of MCA seen in collaboration with the Perkasa’s white-pow f*-up fiasco.

If we remember an election truism in most democracies, voters generally vote a political party out of power rather than vote it into power. This translates into an incumbent political party or candidate losing, while the challenger becomes the winner by default. Thus, the Johor Chinese will focus on giving the BN a belting the latter long deserve.

And Pakatan will by default pick up BN’s lost seats – according to Zentrum, 15 federal and 30 state seats in Johor (compared to 1 and 6 respectively on 08 March 2008).

And all these seem to be supported by rumours, admittedly only rumours, of Hishamuddin Tun Hussein cabut-ing (scooting off) from Sembrong to Kota Tinggi. I hope he doesn't forget to take his keris along with him wakakaka.

But OKM qualified that the local tsunamis will only be possible if (a big IF) the correct (and highly prominent) candidates are nominated. He said: “Placing of candidates in strategic seats may swing sentiments from one party to the other, like move Mukhriz Mahathir from Jerlun and declare him as menteri besar candidate in Kedah.”

There you are – another opinion (more expert than kaytee's) on Mukhriz as the Next MB of Kedah, meaning there will be a possible tsunami but one favourable to UMNO instead, wakakaka. This has lately become even more probable with SAMM threatening to crush the PAS MB of Kedah for his inexplicable support of the draconian undemocratic and oppressive UUCA.

As I had written in same post: … given SAMM’s outrage and consequentially promised campaign against the current PAS MB, Azizan Abu Bakar, for his treacherous non-party line support of UUCA, and Chinese Kedahans’ dislike for same MB, there is a possibility that PAS may be voted out to an extent it loses majority rule in Kedah – for more, read Another Hasan Ali. And it looks more like an UMNO tsunami than just PAS being voted out to lose majority rule in Kedah.

OKM continued: "Make a prominent DAP leader with a prominent PAS leader contest in southern Johor, ripe for a big swing, and you can have a local tsunami. The same in Sabah and Sarawak."

I am thinking of Salahuddin Ayub of PAS, currently MP for Kubang Kerian who will probably be the next MB of Johor. He has been instructed by the 2 Pak Hajis to return to his birthplace for ‘higher duties’. DAP is no doubt backing PAS on this as it knows Johoreans are not ready yet, no, not even for a DAP Malay politician to head the state.

But I wonder who could be the prominent DAP leader?

Oh, BTW, I apologise on behalf of OKM for not mentioning anyone from PKR, including CJM wakakaka.

Finally, for those whining Myrmidons who screamed that Pakatan MUST win GE-13 (frighteningly, with whatever it takes - I suspect they must be thinking of their usual/only tactic in their heads, storming Putrajaya a la the Bastille wakakaka) because it represents Pakatan’s only chance (or would that be more correctly, Anwar’s only chance of being PM?), ...

Of course several questions which beg to be answered, this time for PKR wakakaka, as follows:

(a) Will Anwar Ibrahim be still around by then, that is, in GE-14? We needn’t ask about Azmin Ali because if Anwar is not around, Azmin becomes a nobody wakakaka.

(b) If Nurul Izzah loses Lembah Pantai to Raja Nong Chik in GE-13 as predicted, what then of her political future?

(c) Will Nurul also contest a Penang state seat in GE-13, as recommended by RPK so as to be DCM Penang (alas, only DCM II by next state election), where her political survival will be more guaranteed?

(d) Alternatively, assuming Anwar Ibrahim is jailed if the AG wins the appeal against the ruling in Sodomy II, will she abandon Lembah Pantai and instead contest in her father's constituency of Permatang Pauh in GE-13 to continue to have a voice in federal Parliament?

Try and think who would not walk with the hoi polloi, but would (in the original plan anyway wakakaka) 'arrive majestically' in a limousine only after his 'subjects' have been nicely positioned to await his magnificent entrance? A tale of two (types of) loyalties

It has been some years since I heard this story from a PKR member who in turn claimed to have heard it from the horse’s mouth. Who's the horse? Soon you will find out wakakaka.

In May 2003, during Nurul Izah’s wedding, there was a celebration (jamuan makan?) at her parents’ place. Needless to say, the number of invited guests and visitors would have been overwhelming for the the wedding of a daughter of such a charismatic politician such as a former DPM [then jailed for, as the court found him guilty of, sodomy].

To many of his supporters he was virtually a demi-god, a King (of their hearts) so to speak, thus it was a joyous 'royal' occasion for his princess, the so-called Princess Reformasi, to be wedded.

The guests consisted of some invited UMNO bigwigs (though I suppose I can safety assume Dr M wasn't one of them, wakakaka), Anwar supporters, family friends, well wishers and naturally PKR members. As the hosts anticipated hundreds if not thousands of guests, they wisely had marquees/canvas tops pitched up outside the mansion, in the garden etc.

The government (then still under the premiership of Dr M who served until end of October that year) permitted Anwar Ibrahim, who was imprisoned, to be released specifically for him to attend/host his daughter’s wedding.

My informant told me that when RPK saw the sitting of the guests and visitors, he snorted in great disgust. Now, I didn’t come by this piece of information only recently so don’t conveniently blame RPK for another round of his recent anti Anwar bashing. As mentioned, I was told this story about 6 to 7 years ago. Besides, it wasn't RPK who told me about it.

According to my matey, RPK cynically and sadly commented on whom Anwar Ibrahim had seated inside the mansion as ‘guests of honour’, and compared that to those who were left to their own arrangements outside his house.

My informant (reminder: an anwarista but probably no longer) told me that was an damning indication and indictment of Anwar's sense of loyalty to his supporters, and explained why RPK was disgusted.

I am suddenly reminded of this story when I read blogger steadyaku47’s Change Najib with Anwar? No can do lah! today.

In the post he wrote (relevant extract only):

If you ask me how Anwar Ibrahim will fare as Prime Minister I suggest you look no further then the party election of PKR and see for yourself what PKR has become with him as their defacto leader. Do you want the same thing to happen to the government of our country if Anwar is Prime Minister?

How many of PKR’s elected representative has left? How many of PKR’s officials have left their party post in disgust and resign from the party?

As you are aware, and I had blogged on this issue many times wakakaka, many pro-Pakatan people viewed the PKR polling process with contempt, more so when the party claimed to champion reformasi. The independent Pakatan-friendly bloggers, including Haris Ibrahim and RPK, resoundingly condemned the various reported incidents which allegedly would have done our remarkable EC proud.

Internally, party members like Jonson Chong, Chegubard, Gobalakrishnan, Zaid Ibrahim, Mustaffa Kamil, Jenapala, and many others expressed a range of reactions, from concerns to outright condemnations, about the alleged lack of kosher-ness of the polling process. Except for Mustaffa Kamil (who was promoted into a high ranking party position) and Chegubard (who rejected a similar offer, obviously for good reasons), all had left PKR.

During the brouhaha that followed, anwaristas in automated mode condemned Gobala and Zaid most venomously, describing them as frogs etc, in senseless vicious attacks typical of their creed. To them, Anwar or Wan Azizah or Azmin Ali couldn't ever be wrong, thus those frogs must be. Such was, has been and still is their mindless Myrmidon mentality.

Leaving Zaid Ibrahim aside, the fact that Gobala, once an utterly ardent anwarista and Anwar’s chief bodek-er, was so pissed off by the party polling process, should in itself be clear signal of the irredeemable extent of the alleged party polling dodgy-ness.

Gobala was nothing less than a totally committed party faithful, thus his condemnation of the polling process (and in turn Anwar Ibrahim) should have been viewed as equivalent to a super-staunch Catholic like my blogging matey, Lucia Lai, condemning the Pope, and should thus raised alarms. Instead, he was dismissed as a BN plant.

Not only was party faithful Gobala treated badly when he questioned the Holy Trinity of PKR, but so were earlier PKR people close to Anwar like Nallakarupan and more, including Johari Jasin, Abdul Rahman (PKR membership No 3 and now in PAS). Of course the anwarista fanatics would condemn those people as frogs or UMNO plants. But when the numbers of these 'dissenters' pile up, maybe frogs may not be the correct description – I’m thinking of ‘ostriches’, not to label Gobala, Nalla, Jonson Chong, Zaid, etc but for those anwaristas ... or, perhaps 'bats' - you know, 'blind as bats' wakakaka.

But more important than blogger steadyaku47’s sneer at Anwar Ibrahim’s suitability to replace Najib as PM, should be the question of Anwar's loyalty to his supporters (other than Azmin Ali of course wakakaka).

Malaysia-Today - EPISODE 2: The murder of a whistleblower, a RPK’s Corridor of Power exclusive on the alleged corruption of sand mining in Selangor and the alleged murder of would-be whistleblower Dato’ Patrick Wong. Selected extracts as follows:

There is no way I can get justice for Dato’ Patrick. He is already dead and his murderers are going to get away unpunished -- other than the one man, the sacrificial lamb that has been cited for robbery and will quietly ‘disappear’ once the brouhaha blows away.

But it was not a robbery. It was an assassination by hired killers. And although I can never get the police to rectify this injustice, I can at least get justice for Dato’ Patrick by doing the last thing that he wanted me so much to do just before he died: and that is to expose the sand mining syndicate in Selangor.

I really don’t know whether Dato’ Patrick was murdered because he was getting too close to the truth about what is going on in Selangor, or even if his murder had anything to do with the sand mining syndicate in the first place. But I am a person with a very suspicious mind. The fact that he was murdered (and that the police are covering up this fact) at the time he was working on getting the evidence I needed makes me want to suspect that a lot of money has changed hands to make this murder appear like an ‘innocent’ robbery gone wrong.

In the next episode I will reveal the details behind the Selangor sand mining syndicate with names and evidence of payments made to certain Pakatan Rakyat leaders. So stay tuned for the next episode of this report.

Malaysiakini - MCA should not lend Perkasa legitimacy, hits out DAP

Is there any more profit for DAP to continue in its attack on MCA for the latter’s involvement in Perkasa’s peh kim (‘white gold’ or donation for funeral expenses) scandal?

Is Lim GE attempting to squeeze the last drop of blood out of the MCA stone?

The answers to both questions are ‘YES'-es and I’ll come to the whys and wherefores shortly.

Just one more question before I do so, namely: Was Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa deliberate in their insensitivity to Chinese taboo by presenting Chinese New Year gifts in white envelopes, with the intention to humiliate and hurt the ‘hated Chinese’?

Just before I answer the question, we need to recall that running dog MCA Tiew himself had made that accusation, after he was reported to “have gone on stage [during the event] to translate Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali’s speech, joined in a press conference with Perkasa leaders and accompanied them in distributing money in white envelopes”.

And the best part about Tiew’s betrayal of Ibrahim Ali was when Perkasa counter-attacked by highlighting that Selangor BN had also distributed similar white envelopes (though with the BN logo) at a Chinese New Year event in Seri Setia, wakakaka.

Nonetheless, Tiew’s volte-faced accusation was eagerly picked up by Pakatan?

Anyway, the answer, kaytee’s answer, to whether Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa had been deliberately insulting in their gifts of peh kim is ‘NO’, wakakaka.

It was nothing more than a Perkasa administrative f* up, though with monumental political consequences. For all his running dog presence, Tiew didnt help, wakakaka.

We need to remember that Perkasa is a right wing Malay nationalist organization, set up by UMNO power broker(s) to either farm out to it UMNO Youth’s standard hardcore lobbying (therefore allowing UMNO Youth and thus UMNO to distance themselves from any associated ultra-racist lobbying) or to pressure Najib into not taking the liberal avenue in his reforms, or both.

Perkasa has not been shy in its regular spew of vile and bigoted criticisms, accusations and threats against the Chinese, au contraire. So against this background of its known notorious behaviour, the question begs to be answered, why would such a vocal racist group bother to dabble in the subtlety of a peh kim insult. Why would it waste effort and money to conjure up an insult in such an indirect subtle style – besides, subtlety has been a total stranger in its repertoire of gimmicks, deceit and lies.

If Perkasa had wanted to insult and hurt the Chinese during the CNY celebrations, it could have easily done so openly, economically (without dispensing gifts of money) and in its standard crude and brazen format.

What about MCA then?

The likelihood would be that UMNO wants the Chinese voters to return to its (BN) fold, but because the vile Perkasa is seen as an UMNO apparatus/appendage, a reformed Chinese-friendly Perkasa was considered essential to UMNO realizing its dream of returning Chinese 'prodigal sons'. MCA was instructed (ordered) to lend a helping hand to Perkasa’s CNY do.

Consider for an instance – what if Ibrahim Ali had given out ang pows as per its Chinese description, in red envelopes, and there was no controversy but instead even surprised (maybe grudging) exclamations that the Ibrahim Ali bloke wasn’t bad after all?

... with the f* post-celebration pontificating about Ibrahim Ali’s earlier record as a MP ‘quite friendly to Chinese in Pasir Mas’ ... yadda yadda yadda.

Leaving aside a delighted UMNO, my god, wouldn’t just MCA and CSL be lightning swift to claim credit for ‘converting and taming’ Ibrahim Ali, and then broadcasting to the world how the MCA’s forte in BN-style consultative inclusive multiracial politics has won the day for 1Malaysia?

But for want of a nail red envelopes, the whole bullsh*t splattered ingloriously across CSL’s face, and to UMNO’s ire?

Play with fire, don’t be surprised at being scorched. Play with Perkasa, don’t be surprised at being labelled running dogs.

Unlike Gerakan which was virtually annihilated, MCA (prior to the white envelope scandal) still had some, though diminished, support in Johor. This peh kim f*-up has removed what little remaining support MCA previously enjoyed, because it’s one thing to be seen by the Chinese community as an UMNO lapdog (they may even provide excuses for MCA like “what to do lah; have to play taichi ma!”) but it's another to be considered as a Perkasa running dog.

Therefore Lim GE is playing the correct tactic in reminding the Chinese voters, especially those in Johor, about the collaboration of the unholy trinity of MCA-Perkasa-UMNO which ‘insulted’ Chinese in a serious way.

Lim GE is also correct in pressing CSL to publicly ban MCA members from associating themselves with Perkasa.

OK, tonight is special in Penang, the final hours of the Chinese New Year celebrations, so I have posted for you Chap Goh Meh in Penang over at my other blog, KTemoc Kongsamkok . I hope you'll enjoy reading it ;-)

Yesterday, Malaysiakini published Tiew: Ibrahim Ali did it on purpose.

Tiew disgusts me kau kau. It’s not as if he doesn’t know what Perkasa stands for and what Ibrahim Ali had said against Chinese Malaysians. And for him to deny that he was clueless about Perkasa’s Chinese New Year Open House has been the absolute pits, unless he's an idiot of Godzilla proportion. When the sh*t hit the fan, he lost his gonads and didn’t have the spine to own up to his chummy crony-ish collaboration with Perkasa.

Today Malaysiakini published Perkasa’s rebuttal in White ang pow: Ibrahim Ali 'did not do it on purpose', where Perkasa secretary-general Syed Hasan Syed Ali accepted responsibility for the white envelope faux pas. The report says:

Syed Hasan said it was unfair of Tiew to point fingers at Ibrahim alone; and he pointed to a picture of the Perkasa president in Pasir Mas, where he wore a red costume and distributed red ang pow packets.

Syed Hasan said the recent Chinese New Year open house in Kuala Lumpur was managed by him, as he was the organising chairperson of the event. He said Ibrahim arrived late on that day and when the time came to distribute the ang pow, “my aide gave to Ibrahim the white envelopes (containing the money) to give them to the guests”.

“Ibrahim did not remember the ang pow colour. I believe Ibrahim was not even aware of it as he was elated to see such a good attendance."

For once I believe Perkasa, definitely more so than Tiew, or for that matter Chua Soi Lek who distanced himself from the embarrassment and disowned Tiew. I do not believe Tiew would have dared to join in the Perkasa CNY Open House without prior approval from MCA higher ups. The UMNO-Perkasa-MCA nexus exists!

Meanwhile, RPK waded in, as usual wakakaka, with his jab at those Chinese who attended the event, thanks to MCA’s Thiew.

In his post Prostitutes can kill you he wrote the following (only relevant extracts):

Maybe Ibrahim Ali was wrong. I did not say he was right. He should have researched properly before getting involved in a Chinese thing such as ang pows. Furthermore, ang pows are what the older folks give to the younger unmarried people. The photograph I saw was more the age group of the 74-year-old Taiwanese and his 62-year-old prostitute.

RPK is wrong here. Ang pows are given to older people as well, and not only on Chinese New Year – please read my Secrets of Ang Pows - hah, Peter, you learn something new everyday, don't you wakakaka. And don't you dare blame Marina - you too should have done your research properly in the way you chided Ibrahim Ali for not doing so, wakakaka!

Continuing with RPK’s piece:

Niamah! You call Ibrahim Ali a frog, a political prostitute, a racist, and whatnot. Then you go to his Chinese New Year open house. Then he gives you money in a white envelope and you take it. Then you scream and shout.

I am glad he dished out the money in a white envelope. If not because of that there would not have been a brouhaha and we would never have known that there are many Chinese prostitutes aged 60 and above in Malaysia as well.

Well done, Ibrahim Ali. This is the one time I support what you did, even though it was an ‘accident’ and due to your stupidity and ignorance of Chinese customs and taboos.

If RPK is screwing those who have been making the most noise (namely Pakatan), then it’s okay with me wakakaka.

But alas, RPK screwed it by stating “... that there are many Chinese prostitutes aged 60 and above in Malaysia as well” referring to those aged people who attended Ibrahim Ali’s event, and implying they ‘prostituted’ themselves for money and yet complained.

He has targeted the wrong group of people who were taken there by a MCA running dog, probably without even knowing who was the organizer and WTF was going on other than they’d be receiving food, drinks and entertainment in the CNY Open House. Besides, RPK knows this because in his post (see above extract) he wrote "The people making all the noise are not those who attended the Chinese New Year open house function" so WTF!

Of course I can't tell whether they knew they would be receiving an ang peh pow, but say, based on MCA's Tiew claiming he didn't know anything, how then can we insist those aged people knew? And even if Tiew knew (and I reckon he did) it's not necessarily indicative of the old attendees knowing.

C'mon Peter, do you believe those senior citizens knew beforehand it was a Perkasa event they were attending, and what significance it held for them as Chinese to be attending the CNY Open House of an organization which regularly insults, threatens and badmouths them?

Additionally, as mentioned (and by RPK himself) those senior citizens weren’t the ones complaining, though I can’t tell whether any of they had grumbled softly about the taboo colour of the packet wakakaka. Besides, it's rude in Chinese culture not to accept a gift regardless of what that could be (other than an obvious pile of shit). It may well be that they didn’t even complain – money is money lah, kamsia, wakakaka.

Maybe an apology from you would be in order, wakakaka!

The one who prostituted his honour, dignity and backbone, on top of involving a group of senior citizens for his political intention, has been the running dog, and any of his complicit MCA bosses.

Much ado about a 'shitty little country'

Israel.

On the surface it seems to be a silly issue for UMNO (in the person of either Najib or more prominently, Dr M) and Anwar Ibrahim to be quarrelling over. In the acrimonious circumstances which always surround the question of Israel, it’s not a case of “Anything you can do, I can do better” but rather “Anything you did, I did (or will do) less (or not at all)”, wakakaka.

Once a French diplomat (to Israel) was caught unaware saying (to a friend) that Israel was just a ‘shitty little country’, much to the political embarrassment of his nation. But in the scheme of things global, he was actually correct. In terms of size, natural resources or strategic location, Israel shouldn’t matter much.

Then, why does such a ‘shitty little country’ exert disproportionate influence and effect on many nations, but notably those nations which have the majority of their population belonging in faith to one of the Abraham-ic religions, like the USA or Malaysia?

Well, I’ve actually provided the answer to that question, namely, it’s all about religion or political movements with a religious overlay, namely, Zionism* (especially Christian Zionism), fundamental Christianity and Islam.

* a Jewish initiated political movement which is to be differentiated from Judaism, where many (non Zionist) Jews do not support (Jewish and Christian) Zionists in wanting to have a State of Israel.

Christian Zionism has an even greater religious influence/involvement where some Christian Zionists believe the gathering of 'Hebrew's (or Jews) in Israel is a pre-requisite condition for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. These Christian Zionists actually believe that Jews are God's Chosen People.

What then is the emotive-(including religious)-political significance of the State of Israel?

To Christian Zionists, as mentioned above, that State signifies the return of the ‘Hebrews’ to the so-called Holy Land*, which in turn is a sign of Jesus returning soon – for more read this. Thus for Jesus' Second Coming, the land of the ‘Hebrews’ (read that as Israelis) must be defended regardless – in practical terms, with American arms, intelligence and total political support plus US$4 billion annually.

Last year, when the USA tightened its budget and trimmed down allocations for virtually every program affecting its citizens and institutions, only one allocation was exempted, and not only spared but bizarrely increased, namely aid for Israel. Such is the hold of a 'shitty little country' over the mighty USA.

* I wonder how a land can be deemed ‘holy’ when it has been the most blood-drenched piece of semi-desert estate in world’s history. Why would Jesus want to return there, a place of unbelievable violence for more than 3,000 years? Perhaps Christians should pray for Him to go to, say, New Zealand or Seychelles or Tahiti in his Second Coming.

To Israeli-Jewish Zionists, a religiously shackled USA is a wonderful God-given convenience, enabling them to manipulate and control a religiously blind, obedient but powerful USA to Israeli needs, to be exploited for all it is worth so as to facilitate their restoration of the Kingdom of their legendary King David, stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates – and with whatever it takes!

In this, former Israeli PM Ariel Sharon had openly boasted to his Foreign Minister Shimon Peres “Don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America." For more on Israeli control of the USA, read here.

Naturally, as Israel controls the USA through religion, it always vets any archaeological findings to ensure those do not undermine Christian faith. Politically and economically, it would not do to disprove Christian beliefs, which are the foundation stone of invincible and blind US support and aid for Israel, wthout which it cannot survive.

To the Muslims especially the Palestinians, the State of Israel means Nakba (catastrophe or cataclysm), from whence the Palestinians were driven from their homes by Zionist invaders. The geographical ethnic cleansing of Palestinian residency from the West Bank (Israelis' biblical Judea & Samaria) and Jerusalem to facilitate Israeli lebensraum including the Israeli complete occupation of their holiest city continues till today.

The above USA-supported Israeli persecutions, coupled with vested interests among some neighbouring Arab nations to ensure the Palestinians do not have their own independent republican State (which will be a bad example to the kingdoms of absolute monarchs), have placed them in their current ghetto-rized State-less status as Middle-East vagrants. The sad outcome of the Nakba is reflected in the lamentation of "When one doesn’t have anything, how then can one lose anything anymore?"


Thus, to UMNO and Anwar Ibrahim, Israel with its blood-soaked history of violence, hostilities, racial animosities and hatred, spilled blood and unfulfilled vengeance a la the viciousness and genocidal episodes of the Old Testament represents political opportunities to indict their political opponents’ lack of sympathy for their Muslim* Palestinian brethrens (or friendliness with Israel) as evidence of their lack of fitness or lack of worthiness to be leaders of Malaysia.

* there are Christian Palestinians as well.

Now, in Malaysia, with agama (religion) being one of the tripodal mantra of UMNO, this invariably means Israel and its persecutions of Palestinians are highly emotional issues. Thus, political support of the Heartland for a politician can be influenced by the perceived stand of that politician for or against Palestinians and/or Israel (and Jews*).

* unfortunately many Malaysians (not just Malays) are unable to differentiate between Jews and Israelis, or between Zionists (which include Israelis, Jews and Christians) and non-Zionist Jews, etc. To them, a Jew = Israeli = Zionist.

As mentioned in a previous post, Anwar Ibrahim has many close associations with leading political figures in the West, especially the USA. For example, one of his friends is Paul Wolfowitz, the former Deputy Secretary for Defence in President Bush’s Administration with very strong Israeli connections, and the man who strongly advocated an attack and invasion of Iraq when 9/11 happened, even though there was no evidence to link Saddam Hussein to the Twin Towers attacks.

In 2010, Anwar unusually joined an anti-Israeli demonstration outside the U.S. embassy in Kuala Lumpur, perhaps to disprove UMNO propaganda about him being an Israeli agent and Jew lover. He alleged there was ‘Zionist influence’ in Malaysia, and that Israeli agents had infiltrated Malaysia's security forces. Did he mean Apco Worldwide?

His anti-Zionist attacks shocked his American friends. Thus when he was subsequently in Washington, he sure as hell had a lot of explaining to do, including to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Howard Berman. Wolfowitz was the one who defended Anwar, stating: "What Anwar did was wrong, but considering that he's literally fighting for his life - physically as well as politically - against a government that attacks him as being a puppet of the Jews, one should cut him some slack.”

Presumably “cutting him some slack” means allowing Anwar some latitude in his politicking in Malaysia even if it requires anti-Israeli posturing, because the worldviews of the locals are very straightforward black and white.

I believe Anwar made a poor choice of words in saying in an interview with Wall St Journal that he supported "all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel". Anifah Aman cleverly pounced on the (my) underlined phrase as Anwar supporting even Israeli mass military attacks on Gaza as exemplified in the barbarous and horrendous Operations Cast Lead.

Of course Anwar didn’t mean that but alas, the harm’s done.

Anwar is now striking back at Dr M for the latter's meeting with Yitzhak Rabin and Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres in Paris on July 6, 1994. However I opine that international meetings between enemies or representatives of States with no diplomatic relations have not been not unusual in international forums or circles, nor should such be interpreted as the parties being pally buddy.

But for the life of me, I cannot understand why Najib’s government stupidly chose Apco Worldwide to be its PR agency, nor why the PDRM and the former IGP RMP selected an Israeli company to provide our men in blue with electronic equipment?

Nonetheless, UMNO obviously see great profit in tarring and feathering Anwar with an Israeli tag, while PKR have been correct in retaliating by highlighting Najib's connection with an Israeli Apco, but puhleeeze lah, ordinary Malaysians have had a surfeit of this bullsh*t, and are getting pissed off by the brouhaha over a ‘shitty little country’ when far more urgent and important issues affecting their livelihood, properties and future require urgent addressing by both BN and Pakatan.

Dear Hasan matey,

I don’t mean to rebut your holiness wakakaka, but when if (wakakaka) DAP takes over Putrajaya, I’ve been reliably informed (wakakaka) it’ll do the following:

(a) It will remove graft, making this national ailment its No 1 priority task, which, I have been warned, may cause a number of cardiac arrests, however in the right places, wakakaka.

(b) It will prevent non-tendering tender of crony-tendering [I admit it’s a bit of a mouthful wakakaka] to ensure that government contracts will be tendered a la the current Penang system which incidentally has seen Malays win 70% of Penang public contracts, proving once and for all that Malays are very boleh, especially when cronyism has been removed from blocking their chances.

However, at federal level in the futuristic scene we are now painting, there’ll be a problem similar to what is now experienced in Penang – the Malay winners of 70% of the tenders/contracts won’t all be from UMNO nor from their non-Malay cronies, wakakaka.

(c) It will strengthen the sanctity of our system of constitutional monarchy to prevent disrespectful politicians from vilifying the Malay rulers from the sarung-ized privileges of Parliament, as happened on 10 December 1992 when (according to the Hansard) Dr Affifuddin Omar, an UMNO man from Padang Terap, no doubt given the imprimatur by his party leaders, said in Parliament:

"How can we continue to uphold rulers who are known to be robbers, adulterers, drunkards and kaki pukul (thugs)?" [...]

"They (the rulers) must be made to realize that they do not own this country. They are not Superman but placed on their thrones by the people. "The real power did not lie with them, but with us - the representatives of the people."

(d) It will protect the position and sanctity of Islam as the nation’s official religion to prevent what had happened during the most holy month (August) of Ramadan in 2010, when our society suffered the lamentable distinction of witnessing, during Ramadan fasting, an astonishing series of lies emanating from some UMNO-linked Malay institutes, as well as a sinister attempt by a Muslim leader allied to UMNO (wakakaka) propagandizing about a fabricated ‘new constitution’ that would disadvantage the Malay community (yes, again blasphemously during Ramadan).

Most of all it will impose the severest penalty for failed politicians who show no respect to their religious beliefs by shamelessly indulging in fabrications of international intrigues to deliberately harm the interests of others.

(e) Finally, before I cause any more heart fibrillations, it will, hopefully on my recommendations, appoint Datuk Paduka Marina Mahathir as Malaysia’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore, assuming DYMM SPB consents to the appointment and the Datuk Paduka herself accepts the job. I have also been warned that this may cause some misogynists, if they haven't suffered cardiac arrests already, to bang their heads on the wall (I hope so wakakaka).

Bangsa Ber-Pancawarna

In Australia whenever I met someone new who is a fellow SE Asian, or even from the Far East, and reveal myself as a Malaysian, he/she would invariably exclaim in delightful admiration: “Oh, you guys can speak several languages!”

Though I’d smile, and not without some considerable pride at our Boleh-ness, perhaps the one sole qualification worthy of being proud about, I would at the same time quietly cringe at our notorious mastery of colourful profanities in at least half a dozen or more languages/dialects, way way before I came to know of some bloggers and blog visitors, wakakaka.

So as a nationality, we are if anything quite colourful, not least in the manner in which we love to generously lace our speeches with those multi-lingual and grossly obscene profanities and vulgarisms. Mind, we’d spew out our favourite lubricities, not merely as insults (though there have been lots of these), but as everyday usage in adjectives, adverbs and nouns in our conversations, and of course we would argue, only to emphasize and/or enhance the points we want to make.

Sometimes we even aver that in using the most colourful ‘F’ word, we had meant it in a complimentary way, like “God, she’s absolutely f* beautiful” or in exasperated exclamations at our own predicaments or mistakes, like “Oh, now I’m truly f*”. Such is the versatility of the ‘F’ word that I need at least a whole post to demonstrate its wide ranging use, so I’ll stop its discussion here, reluctantly if I may confess.

In this, I wonder whether we are a wee like Australians who call their enemies ‘bastards’ but their closest friends ‘bloody bastards’.

But in further discussing the colourful nature of we Malaysians, I suppose we could perhaps start off with one of the tripods of our brand of democracy, namely, the judiciary.

The wonderfully remarkable Bench had demonstrated how they could turn black into white one day, and then white into black in another, as I had posted on 08 March 2010 in Federal Court ruling - black yesterday, white today.

Then I had written about the court declaring that Anwar's dismissal as DPM [by then PM Dr M] is lawful because according to our marvellous judiciary, the king, as a constitutional monarch, was required to act in accordance with the advice of the prime minister.

… while a mere month prior to this (yes, just around 30 days), the very same three judges who were also on the appeals bench to hear Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin’s appeal against the unconstitutional sacking of him as the MB of Perak and the associated appointment of Zambry Abd Kadir as the new MB by the Sultan of Perak, ruled that it was not necessary for a vote of confidence to be done in the state assembly as the Sultan can conduct his own inquiry to determine which party or coalition has the majority.

In other words HRH was NOT required to act in accordance with the advice of the menteri besar at that time, namely Nizar.

Yessirree, these three same judges - just as a reminder that they, together with two other, had just one month earlier, ruled the Sultan of Perak, even as a constitutional monarch, could ignore the advice of MB Nizar to dissolve the Perak Assembly – told us in a case of Anwar Ibrahim versus Dr M, that the Agong, as a constitutional monarch, was required to act in accordance with the advice of the prime minister (Dr M).

Either they were of a most forgetful nature (and to f* with stare decisis) or we could quote George Orwell who wrote in Animal Farm (Chapter 2, pg 11), that “Squealer could turn black into white” wakakaka. Now, didn’t/doesn’t that just confirm our affinity with colours and thus, our colourful nature?

Well, what next? Oh yes, there’s those Yellow Perils, our most feared fifth columnists, the local Chinese, who had often been accused of being red, wakakaka. Got it, yellow = red? wakakaka!

Of course I mustn’t let Pantai Remis assemblyman Nga Kor Ming get away with his disgraceful ‘metallic black person’ remark. But he had apologized though he bloody well watches his mouth.

I won’t go into the seditious BTN indoctrinations, the terrible Johor headmistress or the Interlok insults which raised our temperature to the upper red mark of the thermometer as these shameful black-marked issues have already been battered blue black in the various coverages on them. Nor would I mention those men in blue who should be wearing black arm bands for their questionable conduct and behaviour.

But in closing I should talk a bit about the red, green and white of ang pows, which incidentally translate into ‘red packets’ (red for luck, as it is an auspicious colour). Yup, we're now on the topic of Ibrahim Ali's peh-pow (white packets) which he doled out to his MCA-marshalled Chinese visitors during Perkasa Chinese New Year Open House.


Some like Kee Thuan Chye has latched onto Ibrahim Ali’s faux pas to give vent to their ire at the UMNO-Perkasa inconsiderate and very colour-conscious mentality against the 'nons', as may be read in his Malaysiakini article White ang pow: The state has failed us.

Kee does have a point because Malays in adopting the Chinese custom of giving out ang pow (lucky money) on festive occasions such as New Year and Hari Raya, are known to have used green packets, employing the Islamic colour to mask or modify the Chinese auspicious red, where red is often seen as either mainly Chinese or communist (or both wakakaka), though red happens also to be part of the UMNO colour - well, explain that! Anyway, it’s not as if the UMNO-Perkasa mob had been unaware of the colour significance of ang pow.


But quite frankly I am giving Ibrahim Ali the benefit of the doubt for his unthinking faux pas, in gifting peh-pows (white packets) during Perkasa’s Chinese New Year Open House. Those envelopes in a taboo-ed colour (white for death) were a definite no-no for Chinese on a supposedly auspicious occasion - white is very sial (unlucky, ill-omened) on Chinese New Year. I’d put it down as a monumental f* up by his aides and I would even stretch my neck out to opine it was not a deliberate oversight.

The Ibrahim bloke is quite a colourful personality, in fact so colourful he’s known to be a political chameleon, brown one day, green another, yellow sometimes and who knows, even white or black as the situation warrants, in the same variety of tones as possessed by many types of frogs, wakakaka.






But I do blame Collin Tiew, that MCA Sri Desa Branch Boss who collaborated* with Perkasa in the latter's Chinese New Year Open House, and then when the hot steaming poo hit the fan, denied in mealy-mouth fashion that he didn’t know this or that, in fact virtually everything, and that he was acting in a welfare capacity and not as a MCA member.

* in the very meaning of the word as known during WWII

He even daringly attempted a black-into-white transformation when he proclaimed 'I've been made victim of Perkasa CNY open house'. A$**h*le!

Chua Soi Lek has a lot of explaining to do regarding the cozy arrangements between Perkasa and one of his MCA branch chiefs.

Now, don’t tell me that Collin Tiew wasn't aware that the MCA had in recent times criticized Ibrahim Ali in his Perkasa role of vilifying Chinese Malaysians, and that the latter had unwittingly but uniquely unified the Chinese in MCA, Gerakan and DAP in opposing his insults & threats to the Chinese Malaysian community, …

… in exactly the same way as another ‘Ibrahim’, namely Anwar Ibrahim who, as Education Minister in issuing his unacceptable policy of appointing non-Mandarin trained headmasters to vernacular schools in 1987, had also uniquely unified Chinese Malaysians (MCA, Gerakan and DAP and Dong Jiao Zong), which then led to the launch of the infamous Ops Lallang.

I'm not sure whether it was true what I heard, that Anwar’s face had then turned white at his education ministerial ‘too clever by half’ policy which nearly conflagated the nation into red-tainted racial riots a la May 13, though I also heard Dr M patting him on his shoulder and coo-ing “Ta ape, jangan khuatir”, wakakaka.

Then was also when a young Najib believed that beneath Chinese yellow skins was red blood, but without realizing that red was in fact the universal colour of blood, including his, or for that matter, that of any race, nationality or creed, and even for those so-claimed blue blood!

With Ops Lallang, Najib’s face was a rosy pink like the cat which licked the cream because he was teflonized, while Lee Kim Sai, the MCA Youth Chief, saw his face turning black because he wasn’t, wakakaka, which explained why, just prior to the police dragnet, he was sent away to Australia for a facial.


We Malaysians are certainly a Bangsa berpancawarna - hope my Bahasa term is correct wakakaka.
