United States arm twisted Modi

Thanks MF:

In a brazen assault on our India's sovereignty, the United States has arm twisted the Modi ji run government into an interim trade deal that effectively turns our Bharat into a vassal state! According to the White House's own Executive Order, signed by President Trump, India has "committed to stop directly or indirectly importing Russian Federation oil."

And if we dare to resume, even indirectly, the US will monitor our every move and slap back that punishing 25% tariff on our exports!

I am sorry guys, this isn't partnership it's a freakin diktat ! How has our very "strong" Modi ji's regime accepted this humiliation? Our foreign policy, is now being monitored by Washington like an errant child! And look at the implications: this erodes our strategic autonomy, it also weakens ties with long standing ally & friend Russia, and exposes INDIA to US whims. India deserves better than this capitulation!! #IndiaFirst #SovereigntyMatters #ModiTradeFail #IndoUSTradeDeal #usindiatradedeal whitehouse.gov/presidential-a

Snow blankets Tokyo as powerful storm system tightens grip on Japan

Snow blanketed swaths of Tokyo on Sunday as a powerful winter pressure pattern tightened its grip over the country.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), a strong winter pressure system has continued over the weekend, with frigid air flowing into the upper atmosphere.

    ...

The heavy snowfall came during a national election and university entrance exam season. Multiple universities — including Hosei University and Chuo University — have posted notices on their websites stating that the starting time for their entrance exams had been delayed due to the snow.

    More snow forecast across Japan

Snow is accumulating quickly along the Sea of Japan coast. A heavy snow alert has been issued for Tottori, Fukui and Kyoto prefectures.

Large parts of Japan still remain in the grips of a strong winter pressure pattern that is dumping heavy snow along the Sea of Japan coast. In the six hours through 11 a.m. on Sunday, 35 centimeters of snow fell in the Miyama district of Nantan City, Kyoto, prompting authorities to issue a heavy snow alert for Nantan and Kyotamba.

LDP set for historic win in snap election

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s Liberal Democratic Party secured a historic landslide victory in Sunday’s Lower House election with NHK projections showing the party will significantly increase its seat count to between 274 and 328.

The LDP, which had 198 seats before the election, and its coalition partner, the Japan Innovation Party (JIP), are almost certain to gain control of two-thirds of the Lower House with a total of 310 seats or more. This would essentially allow the LDP-led coalition to override challenges that emerge as a result of its lack of a majority in the Upper House. In the event key bills and budgets are voted down in the Upper House, they can be overridden in the Lower House with a two-thirds majority.

So it is, the die has been cast.
LDP has won the largest majority in postwar Japan, they are even likely to reach 2/3 majority, which allows them to revise the constitution.

No more excuses of the opposition pulling their leg. LDP will be free to reign as they please.

The State Department is scrubbing its X accounts of all posts from before Trump's second term | Cheyenne MacDonald, Engadget

A spokesperson confirmed to NPR that the content won't be archived publicly.

The State Department is wiping the post history of its X accounts and making it so you'll have to file a Freedom of Information Act request if you want to access any of the content it removed, according to NPR. The publication reports that the State Department is removing all posts from before President Trump's current term — a move that affects several accounts associated with the department, including those for US embassies, and posts from the Biden and Obama administrations. Posts from Trump's first term will be taken down too.

Unlike how past administrations have handled the removal of social media content and the transition of accounts, these posts won't be kept in a public archive. A spokesperson for the State Department confirmed this to NPR, and said the move is meant "to limit confusion on U.S government policy and to speak with one voice to advance the President, Secretary, and Administration's goals and messaging. It will preserve history while promoting the present." The spokesperson also called the X accounts "one of our most powerful tools for advancing the America First goals."

The Trump administration has been purging information from government websites since he took office last year. Just this week, the CIA unexpectedly took down its World Factbook, a global reference guide that's been available on the internet since 1997.

I love Thailand but it’s so over. This is the century of stagnation for us. I say this as someone who’ll be fine regardless of the rest of the country’s situation. In fact, it doesn’t seem Thailand even wants me considering how difficult the system makes something as basic as getting a Thai ID. (If you don’t know my situation, don’t comment, I promise, you’re not helping)

Now imagine trying to build anything here? Things that should take days to weeks take months (if even possible) the lack of investments from the government (extremely weak R&D spending) also means anyone who wants to do anything big has to leave Thailand.

    https://x.com/i/status/2020521092838752524

I might sound harsh but Thailand needs a wake up call. All they do is building giant malls that are empty and new luxury residences no one can afford.
Meanwhile Vietnam is like “here’s our 17th factory that will assemble pieces for Chinese satellites!”
    The logic is off…

🚨🇺🇲🇯🇵 Polls Closed — Snow, Media, Pressure… The People Have Spoken: Takaichi’s Mandate Is Here!

The polls are now closed — and the early signals are impossible to ignore.

Exit polls and first projections are pointing toward a MAJOR VICTORY for Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and her ruling coalition: the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) alongside the Japan Innovation Party.

This is shaping up like a MANDATE.

Multiple forecasts indicate the coalition is on track to BLOW PAST the 233-seat majority line, with some projections pushing into 300+ seats territory.

These kinds of numbers send a message not just to the opposition, but to every bureaucrat, media gatekeeper, and foreign lobby that Japan WILL NOT pressured into submission.

Even heavy snow couldn’t stop this wave.

Despite the weather, despite the noise, the public STILL moved toward the only leader offering STRENGTH.

This was Takaichi’s first true national test since becoming Japan’s FIRST FEMALE prime minister in October 2025, and she ran exactly how a real leader should: UNAPOLOGETICALLY.

She stood on a conservative platform the establishment fears: defense reform, stricter immigration enforcement, and tax relief for Japanese households.

And she made it crystal clear: if she couldn’t win a majority, SHE WOULD STEP DOWN.

Takaichi didn’t inherit a comfortable situation. After the LDP lost its longtime coalition partner Komeito, she rebuilt from the ground up, formed a new coalition with the Japan Innovation Party, and demanded a fresh mandate DIRECTLY FROM THE PEOPLE.

    Now the people have ANSWERED.

And the answer looks like this:

    ▪️Japan wants STRENGTH
    ▪️Japan wants SOVEREIGNTY
    ▪️Japan wants TAKAICHI

The polls are closed — and the era of weakness is closing with them.

  9. Yapan’s cilipadi Iron Lady Just Won Big — And Asia Will Feel It. Sanae Takaichi’s Landslide Marks the End of Postwar Yapan.

Yapan has just crossed a historic line.

In a landslide election, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi secured a mandate strong enough to end Japan’s post–World War II political era and redefine its role in the world. Just as telling, the party most openly favored by Beijing suffered a crushing defeat—marking a major loss for CCP influence in Japan.

This election matters far beyond domestic politics, how Japan is shifting from a purely economic power to a strategic and military one, and why Beijing’s pressure campaign backfired. From the collapse of the postwar order to the coming arms race China can’t afford, this is the real story behind Japan’s political earthquake and why it reshapes the future of Asia.

    1. Reshape future of Asia!

Indeed, the fate of contemporary japan to face the rages of its historical past.

I thought that the current Japanese youth would learn some lessons from their WWII war crimes. Instead, they r craving to revive their past military glorification, with the one-way head strong Bushidō behaviorism.

Perhaps the current economical stagnation has enhanced that desire to Make Japan Great Again, burning bright within those Japanese youth urge of self sense.

Let Sanae Takaichi be the reincarnation of Hideki Tojo. Let that punishable & bitter pills of historical repatriation be 'earned' by these syiok-sendiri youth of recalcitrant japanese expensive militarism.

  13. India and Modi are powerful, I doubt they could really be arm twisted by the Wankees.
The agreed deals were likely settled on mutually acceptable terms.
The rumours of "arm twisting" are probably floated to manage other trade partners who may find the agreements objectionable.
