The late Khalid Ibrahim’s former political secretary Faekah Husin recalls the betrayal her boss endured in the infamous “Kajang Move”.
Faekah, however, refuses to dwell on the matter, saying she wants to forget it.
The former political secretary to the late Selangor menteri besar described the current internal attacks against PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli as nothing less than poetic justice.
“This is karma,” she declared.
Refusing to delve too deeply into the turmoil, Faekah told Sinar Harian she wishes to forget the betrayal that brought down Khalid (above).
“Let it remain a dark chapter in history that I myself am trying to forget. Most of the stories are already known by PKR members and the people of Selangor,” she said.
“I just want him (Khalid) to rest in peace and be placed among the righteous in the gardens of paradise,” she added.

The economy minister, who now faces a direct challenge from Nurul Izzah Anwar, daughter of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, voiced his dismay over the culture of “backstabbing” within the party.

Khalid was unceremoniously sacked from PKR on Aug 9, 2014. This is believed to be over his refusal to step down as menteri besar.
PKR wanted to install then-party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail - Anwar’s wife - in his place.
This was known as the “Kajang Move”, which was reportedly one of the strategies associated with Rafizi.

A respected technocrat and former CEO of Guthrie Bhd Group, Khalid had been appointed as menteri besar on March 13, 2008. His tenure ended in turmoil when he submitted his resignation to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on Aug 26, 2014.
However, the sultan rejected Wan Azizah as the sole candidate proposed by PKR, ultimately selecting Azmin Ali to succeed Khalid as menteri besar.

In a separate development, Sinar Harian reported PKR Women chief Fadhlina Sidek rejecting an invitation by Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail to debate on the direction and future of the party’s women’s wing.
Fadhlina said debating was not a priority at the moment as her main focus was on strengthening the party and supporting its president.
“My answer is the same as Nurul Izzah’s - there’s no need for it. Right now, our focus is on strengthening the party. All the initiatives we’ve undertaken are aimed at strengthening the party and showing full support for our president,” she said.
Rodziah, who is aligned with Rafizi, is contesting the position of PKR Women chief.
