Pope Leo XIV called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, expressing his deep sorrow over the humanitarian situation there, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

This came in a speech he delivered during his first Sunday prayer from his office overlooking St Peter's Square in the Vatican.

The pope - who suceeded the late Pope Francis on Thursday - touched on the situation in Gaza, saying that he was deeply pained by what was happening in the Gaza Strip.

He called for "an immediate ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian aid to exhausted civilians."

The pope also delivered messages related to international developments, noting the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

"This war has cost 60 million lives. As the late Pope Francis repeatedly stated, we are today facing the dramatic spectacle of a Third World War being fought piecemeal,” he said.

"I appeal to the world's great powers, and I repeat the appeal that remains unwavering: never again war,” he added.

  2. The PKK just announced they will disband, ending the Dream of a Kurdistan State.

No more "From the Euphrates River to the Aegean Sea, Kurdistan Will Be Free" movement.

The poor Kurds, like the Isccas and Ishmaels of the Levant wanted a homeland carved out of the Ottoman Empire a hundred years ago. In 1948 the Isaacs got one (which they gratefully accepted) but the Ishmaels foolishly rejected theirs. The Kurds on the other hand got left out completely. Nothing offered to them. Kesian.

Over the last 100 years, millions of Kurds were displaced or killed by Turkey, Syria under the Assads and Iraq under Saddam Hussein. But nobody reported about their plight. No protes in Harvard or Columbia, or in the streets of London town. Did any Malaysian protes for Kurds? Why Not? Let me sagest: No Isaacs Involved, because when Ishmaels kill Ishmaels there is no issue. Nothing to See. Like when Brigadier Zia Ul Haq of Pakistan led Jordanian army massacre 25,000 Palestinians in 11 days nobody was charged by ICC or expelled by the OIC/Arab League.

So Harm-ass please take note. Your fellow Kurds have given up on Kurdistan and choose to MOVE ON. They know they have lost the war and wars have consequences, especially when you have lost.

    1. Mfering lies upon lies!

"In 1948 the Isaacs got one (which they gratefully accepted) but the Ishmaels foolishly rejected theirs."

The zionist state was forced down the throat of the Arab nations who protested vogorously. Of course, the zionist state would gladly accepted that Belfour proposal. Otherwise, there would be a zionist state anywhere on earth.

& mfer, which Arabs rejected that offer as promised under the f*cked Belfour proposal? & WHY?

      Wakakakaka…

"Kurds have given up on Kurdistan and choose to MOVE ON."

Mfer, PKK aint the ONLY Kurdish groups wanting a Kurdish nation.

    2. The Arabs were awarded so many states: Saudi, Syria, Transjordan, Iraq etc, offer them one more, to name whatever, eg Palestine. But the Arabs doewan. Instead, their true goal was exposed, ie to deny Isaacs even one.
