Gabon to End Raw Manganese Export Within 3.5 Years
The country has taken a historic turn by planning to enact this ban as of January 1, 2029, as announced by President Brice Oligui Nguema.
As the world's second-largest manganese producer, Gabon no longer wants to be a mere supplier of raw materials.
Why the change?
⚫️Process manganese locally to create economic value; ⚫️Generate employment opportunities; ⚫️Gain control over the entire value chain; ⚫️Increase national revenue; ⚫️Prepare the Gabonese economy of tomorrow.
Mining companies have a three-year transition period beginning in 2026 to adapt to these changes. This includes:
🟠Investing in processing facilities, 🟠Training workers, 🟠Integrating into the new industrial landscape.
Interesting development on financial development. I haven't encountered Malaysians podcast or write articles about it, maybe Matthias Chang has done so in his website. But we will find out if gold will destroy the FED (can be Foreign Exchange Department, can be Federal Reserve)
If not mistaken BNM gold reserve pretty miniscule compare to other type reserve in their balance sheet...

Share article Japan’s agriculture minister, Taku Etō, resigned on May 21 just six months into his term, following a public backlash to his joke that he never buys rice because supporters give it to him for free.
Gaffes are by no means uncommon in Japanese politics. Controversial remarks by one former prime minister, Tarō Asō, were routinely followed by retractions – and the ruling Liberal Democratic party (LDP) even distributed a gaffe-prevention manual to its members in 2019.
But amid a severe rice shortage, which has seen prices surge to 90% higher than they were a year ago, Etō’s quip was seen by the Japanese public as more than just an offhand comment.
Consequences?
