PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is ready to cooperate with its staunch enemy, Umno, to achieve its political struggles.
Its Deputy President, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, said there was no reason for Umno and Bersatu to continue being divided if they shared the same struggles and political platform.
The Opposition Leader emphasised that the shared goals of the struggle should allow Bersatu and Umno to sit at the same table.
"I don't see any conflict that prevents Umno and Bersatu from sitting at the same table.
"If the struggle is the same, why is there a need for two parties?
"Therefore, leaders also need to shed their ego and strengthen the principle of being straightforward for the sake of the country," he said.
The Larut Member of Parliament said this while being a guest on "Keluar Sekejap" hosted by former Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, and former Umno Youth Deputy Chief, Shahril Sufian Hamdan, on Friday as reported in Sinar Harian.
In other developments, Hamzah claimed that the achievements of the Madani Government, which are often touted in the mass media and social media, are merely dramatic in nature.
According to him, the actual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth figure is 5.1 percent and not 5.9 percent as reported.
When questioned by Khairy Jamaluddin about Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Hamzah said that the supposedly strong stock market was due to purchases by government-linked companies (GLC) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), not foreign investors.
Hamzah urged the government to be more transparent in reporting economic data and to ensure more effective policies to attract quality investments and enhance the liquidity of the country's equity market.
"When the opposition criticises, everything is wrong.
"What is wrong if as a leader (Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), accepts criticism to improve various weaknesses (in governance)? ... Is everything we have been saying is wrong?," he asked. - March 22, 2025

Hamzah Zainuddin realises the dead end predicament of BERSATU, hence his willingness to eat humble pie (halal of course). Anwar should be careful as BERSATU combined with UMNO can be awfully dangerous for him.
