MACC probing alleged graft in Negeri Sembilan religious council

Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun confirmed that the MACC and police were investigating the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council.

PETALING JAYA: The Negeri Sembilan state government is leaving it to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and police to probe allegations of graft in the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS).

According to Bernama, Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun confirmed that the MACC and cops were still probing the allegations made online.

“It is still under investigation. If it is true, take action. If not, inform the public on what actually happened.

“Let’s wait for the outcome. I don’t know what actually happened because I’m no longer in MAINS, so I don’t know much about it,” he said.

This follows a claim of breach of trust by certain officials in MAINS involving zakat collections. Zakat aid is normally distributed to the poor and needy.

The claim was made by anonymous account Edisi Siasat on Telegram.
