Time to move on, PKR man tells Muhyiddin

A PKR leader said Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin had not respected the King’s decision.

PETALING JAYA: A PKR leader has told Muhyiddin Yassin to “move on” after the Perikatan Nasional chairman insisted that he commanded the support of a majority of MPs to lead the government.

Razeef Rakimin said Muhyiddin should instead play a role in the opposition and provide a check and balance to the incoming government.

“Muhyiddin seems to be questioning the wisdom of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and he could be perceived as being rude,” the PKR deputy information chief said in a statement.

“It would also likely anger the people as he had not respected the King’s decision.”

Anwar was appointed as the country’s 10th prime minister following discussions between the King and the Malay rulers yesterday morning.

Yesterday evening, before Anwar was sworn in, Muhyiddin insisted that he had 115 statutory declarations (SD) from MPs backing him as the prime minister.

He also challenged Anwar to prove that the Pakatan Harapan chairman had the support of the majority of MPs.

Razeef also said that Muhyiddin’s decision to reject the King’s suggestion for PN to cooperate with PH in forming the government reeked of arrogance.

On Tuesday, Muhyiddin said the King had asked the two coalitions to come together to form the government, but PN turned this down, stressing that it would not work with PH.

  1. Mahiaddin is really sounding very desperate.

Since Anwar has stated he will request a vote of confidence on Dec 19, Mahiaddin should just keep his mouth shut or be seen as again challenging Royalty.
