PETALING JAYA: Johor DAP’s Dr Boo Cheng Hau today stood by his claim that some party leaders still want Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister should Pakatan Harapan (PH) triumph in the next general election (GE15).
Boo was responding to comments by party veteran Lim Kit Siang criticising him for “concocting baseless stories” over the issue.
In a statement, he said there was lobbying by a small faction in the party at a Zoom meeting among “MPs, former ministers and grassroots” in DAP.
He said some wanted Anwar Ibrahim dropped as a prime ministerial candidate and opt for Mahathir instead.
According to Boo, the Zoom meeting was originally intended to “improve communications” with the DAP grassroots.
“Their comments keep going against the PH presidential council’s decision to back Anwar as the coalition’s only prime ministerial choice. They also criticised Anwar without sound basis, and this has destabilised our grassroots.
“As a result, the grassroots are largely confused as to who would be leading us towards GE15,” he said.
Boo said that during the Zoom meeting, he raised his voice and “condemned a former minister” for pushing for Mahathir, as Mahathir was the cause of the PH’s government’s downfall last year.
He said there had been voices in DAP calling for Anwar to step down as opposition leader as they were eager to return to power and were now cosying up to Mahathir instead.
“We shall stand by them (PKR) and Anwar at this most difficult time, especially when there has been an orchestrated systematic effort to undermine PKR,” he said.

Dr Boo said he “condemned a former minister” for pushing for Mahathir, as Mahathir was the cause of the PH’s government’s downfall last year.
Who amongst DAP pollies were ministers in Mahathir's cabinet?
a. Lim GE as Finance Minister
b. Anthony Loke as Transport Minister
c. Kulasegaran as Minister of Human Resources
d. Yeo Bee Yin as Minister of Energy, Environment etc
e. Teresa Kok as Minister of Primary Industries
f. Gobind Singh as Minister of Comms & Multi Media
Thus one of them must be who Dr Boo alluded to. But let's not confine ourselves to ministers only but look at the DAP deputy ministers:
a. Liew Chin Tong as Dep Defence
b. Ong Kian Ming as Dep Int'l Trade & Industry
c. Teo Nie Ching as Dep Education
d. Tengku Zulpuri as Dep Water, Land, Nat'l Resources
e. Chong Chieng Jen as Dep D'tic Trade Consumer Aff
f. Hannah Yeoh as Dep Women, Family Comm Dev
g. Steven Sim as Dep Youth & Sports, and
... not to forget the MOST powerful (and, according to Atuk, Blardy ARROGANT) FM Policy Advisor & Political Sec - Yang MAHA SANGAT Berhormat Tony Pua, wakakaka.
Now, let's examine the (full) Ministerial List, from which I believe those likely to be STILL pro Mahathir would probably be those I've highlighted in green (notwithstanding the wee lil' stoush with Atuk over chopsticks, wakakaka) - take your pick
As for the Deputy ministers, I have highlighted those I believe as likely to be pro Atuk in blue.
The only reason I believe DAP pollies would still continue to believe in Atuk's leadership have to be their power crazy greed.
By the by, right in the deep dark dirty background lurks the Most-Mafulat-ish Maha Machiavellian Master Marionette Manipulator, who, despite his most recent statement that he doubts Mahathir can be PM a third time (bearing in mind he's an unmitigated LIAR, and probably was lying then, AGAIN), is another pro Mahathir backer who wants Mahathir once again as Supremo.
There were those who held (and still hold) the analysis that PH managed to win the majority in GE 14 principally because the Atuk factor.
ReplyDeletehow can a person who divulge the confidentiality of a meeting still thinks he is righteous, he has already shown his intent on causing trouble not only within party members but among coalition partners, he should join pkr
ReplyDeleteOnly idiots will clamour for the old hypocrite to be PM again.
ReplyDeleteNow is the time to clean house. Boo should release a recording of the Zoom meeting (if it exists) and name the minister worshipping the ground the old buffoon walks on.
But be prepared to set up another party.
Ain't that a contributing fact?
