Overthrowing Anwar Fails – Why Hadi So Furious He Called CSA “Dajjal”

Overthrowing Anwar Fails – Why Hadi So Furious He Called CSA “Dajjal”

November 5th, 2026 by financetwitter

Abdul Hadi Awang must be a very angry man when he used “Dajjal” to describe the confidence and supply agreement (CSA) between Bersatu MPs and the government. In the past, the racist and extremist leader of the Islamist party PAS had used various derogatory words – including cows, dogs, pigs, kafir, munafiq – to belittle, insult or disparage anyone he disliked.

But “Dajjal” is arguably the most deplorable word the fake holy man has weaponized so far. Even Law Minister Azalina Othman from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a conservative and Malay nationalist political party which Hadi’s trying very hard to suck up to revive a previous UMNO-PAS cooperation in order to grab power, disagreed with Hadi’s extremism.

Pierce Brosnan Backs Callum Turner As A Strong James Bond Candidate, While Josh O’connor Reacts To Bond Rumors As 'Bizarre Pinch Me Moment'

The word Dajjal comes from an Arabic root meaning “to deceive” – a figure who will appear towards the end of time, before the Day of Judgment. Islamic tradition emphasizes that the trial of the Dajjal will be the greatest test for mankind since the creation of Adam. “Does he know when the Day of Judgment will come? God knows best. I certainly do not know,” – said Azalina.

Hadi said Prophet Muhammad had warned that several lesser Dajjals would appear around the world before the great Dajjal emerged. “A CSA is Dajjal-like as power is no longer regarded as a trust that must be upheld for the benefit of all, but instead becomes a means of coercing others to ensure the government remains in power,” – said the despicable PAS president.

Six Bersatu MPs led by party president Muhyiddin Yassin signed the CSA with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government on October 29, along with Independent Muar MP Syed Saddiq. Additionally, six other independent MPs who had previously declared their support for Anwar’s unity government also signed the agreement. But Hadi was terribly upset over the CSA signed between the 13 MPs and the government.

Under the CSA political pact, Opposition MPs agree to back the Anwar government in key parliamentary votes – such as budgets and confidence motions – without formally joining the ruling coalition. In return, they would get equal constituency development funding matching the allocations currently granted to government backbenchers.

Sure, the opposition’s support in exchange for funding certainly sounds and smells like a bribe transaction. But in case snake oil salesman Hadi forgets, or pretends to have forgotten, this is not the first time a CSA deal has been made. In September 2021, former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob also signed a CSA with then-Opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) led by Anwar.

Therefore, if a CSA between Bersatu and Anwar administration can be demonised as Dajjal-like, then the same CSA between PH and Sabri administration some 5 years ago can be demonised too as Dajjal-like. A munafiq Hadi cannot selectively condemn a CSA in 2026 as Dajjal-like, but legitimise a CSA in 2021 just because PAS was part of the Sabri backdoor government back then.

Besides, the latest CSA agreement was facilitated by Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof, not PM Anwar himself. Was Mr Hadi trying to demonise Fadillah, a lawmaker from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as the one-eyed man called “Al-Masih ad-Dajjal” – “the Deceitful Messiah” or “the False Messiah” – trying to deceive humanity, especially among the Malay-Muslims?

True, the CSA between Bersatu and the government was signed primarily to save Anwar’s skin. But so was the CSA between PH and the Sabri government in 2021. Both CSA agreements were signed to prevent the government of the day from collapsing. It means Anwar’s government could be overthrown without the CSA, the same threat Sabri was facing in 2021.

The CSA comes at a time of a political recalibration, with growing strains emerging both within the opposition Perikatan Nasional (PN) alliance and between the unity government partners Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN). Bersatu and PAS, two key components of the PN opposition coalition, have become bitter enemies, whilst PH and BN have increasingly gone hostile with each other.

When “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, it’s only natural that Bersatu, which was backstabbed and betrayed by Hadi when former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin launched Parti Wawasan Negara following his sacking from Bersatu in early 2026 before admitted unilaterally by PAS into PN, was forced to work with PH for the sake of political survival.

And with PAS leading PN into an alliance with enemy BN ahead of the next 16th General Election, both Bersatu and PH have a common enemy. There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies in politics, only permanent interests. And the permanent interests for both Bersatu and PH are to join forces, to survive, and to defeat PN and BN.

Still, exactly why was Hadi Awang so mad and furious that he went berserk, summoned the god, and accused those who signed the CSA as Dajjal? That’s because the confidence and supply agreement has torpedoed a plot hatched to overthrow PM Anwar by defeating the Budget 2027. Under the Westminster parliamentary system, failing to pass a government’s budget is treated as an implicit vote of no confidence.

When the Prime Minister said MPs who signed CSA will get constituency funds once the budget is passed, it was the clearest proof that the RM3 million to RM4 million annual funding per constituency comes with strings attached. With Bersatu left to fend for itself, Muhyiddin and his boys have nothing to lose but everything to gain by signing the CSA with the Anwar government.

The government bloc in the Dewan Rakyat (Lower House) currently comprises 146 MPs, including 75 from Pakatan Harapan (PH), 30 from Barisan Nasional (BN), 23 from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and eight from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). With the additional support, Anwar would have the backing of 159 MPs, exceeding the two-thirds majority threshold required to pass constitutional amendments.

So, even if BN (30 MPs) suddenly withdraws its support for Anwar, the Premier will still enjoy a comfortable support of 129 MPs in the 222-seat Parliament. Without the CSA, that number would be reduced to razor thin 116 – a dangerous level in the event GPS or GRS, which were part of the previous ruling BN government for over 60 years before the historic May 2018 General Election, decides to switch sides.

Yes, Anwar is game over if BN and GPS vote against Anwar’s Budget 2027, leaving the PM with no choice but to dissolve the parliament before the current parliamentary term expires on Dec 18, 2027. Obviously, the CSA agreement would give Mr Anwar greater political breathing room amid calls from BN, one of the unity government’s key partners, for an early general election.

Even if only BN and PAS vote against the budget without the Borneo states’ participation, Anwar’s budget could still be defeated if the entire government bloc of 116 MPs did not turn up in full force to support it. You just need 5 MPs to go on sick leave, or absent for whatever reason, for PM Anwar to lose power. The 159 MPs thus provide a psychological number to enable Anwar to cling to power.

That also explains why the Prime Minister has been spending so much time and money to appease the Borneo states, granting almost every single demand from them. From Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to development funds allocation, and from billions in special grants to Sarawak’s own regional airline AirBorneo, PM Anwar could only ask how high when Sabah and Sarawak tell him to jump.

To shore up support from the two East Malaysian coalitions, the Premier had earmarked record sums in Budget 2027 for East Malaysian states – allocating RM18.7 billion to Sabah and RM16.2 billion to Sarawak. By hook or by crook, Anwar must ensure that both states –with a combined 30 MPs – remain on his side till the next national election.

So, it was not a coincidence that the Supply Bill 2027 passed its second reading (policy stage) in the Dewan Rakyat (Lower House) via a voice vote on October 29, 2026 – just hours after the CSA with 13 opposition lawmakers. No opposition MPs rose to call for a division at the end of the debate, unlike in October 2025, when a bloc vote recorded 120 ayes, 67 nays and 35 absent votes.

The Budget 2027 bill is undergoing its committee-stage debate from November 2 to November 26, 2026. After the committee stage, it still requires a third reading in the Dewan Rakyat, approval by the Dewan Negara (Upper House), and royal assent from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) before it is officially enacted. A failure to pass it compels the prime minister to either resign or advise the King to dissolve Parliament and call an election.

More importantly, Hadi Awang wanted an early election due to his deteriorating health. The power-hungry man has admitted to wanting to die while still serving. In the eventuality of his passing, PAS could split between religious clerics (ulama) and technocratic factions. This impact could be reduced if the Islamist party is part of the government, as seen in Bersatu.

Penang’s quit rent rates revised with full empathy, consideration, says Chow

The chief minister says while the state government needs to ensure a steady stream of revenue, it has also worked to ease ratepayers’ financial burdens.

Chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said the Penang government extended the provision of quit rent rebates until next year after taking note of sentiments on the ground.
GEORGE TOWN:
The Penang government’s decision to increase quit rent rates was made with “full empathy and due consideration”, chief minister Chow Kon Yeow told the state assembly.

Chow said the state government had explained its rationale for revising the rates after more than three decades.

He said the state government had also taken note of sentiments on the ground, prompting it to extend quit rent rebates until next year.

“This is to balance the impact of the quit rent increase, which is crucial to ensuring a steady stream of revenue for the state government, as non-tax revenue is not fixed and difficult to predict,” he said while winding up the debate on the state’s 2027 budget.

Chow was responding to Lim Guan Eng (PH-Air Putih), who reiterated his call on Monday for the state government to freeze tax increases to reduce the financial burden on Penangites.

Lim had said that ordinary people and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises facing challenging economic conditions should not have to contend with higher taxes and compliance costs.

The relief measures announced by the Penang government included a 50% rebate for most landowners, nominal charges of RM50 for schools and certain non-profit landowners, and instalment payments.

My Comments:

Komen saya sikit saja.

Isnt that a brilliant idea?

Summary

  • An ultra-Orthodox Jewish party has not recommended Benjamin Netanyahu for another term as Israel's prime minister, offering no support to his rival Gadi Eisenkot either.
  • United Torah Judaism, aligned with Netanyahu in past elections, chose not to back any candidate to form a government after the October 27 election left no clear majority.
  • Eisenkot, aiming to unite centrists, opposes military service exemptions for religious students, a critical issue for United Torah Judaism, which traditionally supports such exemptions.

JERUSALEM, Nov 5 — An ultra-Orthodox Jewish party long aligned with Benjamin Netanyahu declined on Thursday to recommend him to stay as Israel’s prime minister, as signs grew that rival Gadi Eisenkot will have the first chance to form a government.

President Isaac Herzog was holding a second day of consultations with political parties after the October 27 election, in which neither Netanyahu — a polarising right-winger who has led Israel through three years of war — nor Eisenkot secured enough votes for a majority.

United Torah Judaism, which backed Netanyahu after the previous five elections, in its meeting with Herzog declined to recommend Netanyahu again as prime minister, although it also did not side with Eisenkot.

The party informed Herzog “that it has decided not to recommend any member of Knesset to form a government,” the president’s office said in a statement, referring to the 120-member parliament in which United Torah Judaism has won seven seats.

The party, which represents ultra-Orthodox Jews of Ashkenazi origin, who mostly hail from or have roots in Europe, as well as Shas, which represents the same community but of Sephardic, or mostly Middle Eastern and North African descent, have both been backed by Netanyahu as they push to maintain the exemption from military service for religious students.

Netanyahu has preserved the exemption but stopped short of enshrining it in law, in the face of major resentment from many other Israelis as reservists serve multiple tours due to the wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.

“In whatever government is next formed, our immediate item is sorting out the status of Torah students,” United Torah Judaism lawmaker Isaac Pindrus said.

Eisenkot, a former military chief seeking to unite the centre and centre-right, has been adamant about closing exemptions to military service, with some of his opposition allies harshly criticising the ultra-Orthodox as self-serving.

Observers say United Torah Judaism’s approach may be aimed more at punishing Netanyahu and showing that their votes cannot be taken for granted, while they could still serve in a government if he were to form one.

Herzog will meet representatives of the major parties later on Thursday before tasking one lawmaker with forming a government. He generally bases his decision on which person receives the most party recommendations, making it likely he will ask Eisenkot.

Once Herzog gives the mandate, that lawmaker will have 28 days to form a government, with a potential 14-day extension. If the lawmaker fails, Herzog will then task someone else.

Netanyahu’s bloc — including United Torah Judaism — has 53 seats in the new parliament, as opposed to 48 for Eisenkot’s bloc.

Israeli-Arab parties soared in strength on the back of anger over Netanyahu’s hard-right government, winning 19 seats.

“Hidup Islam vs Reformasi”: War of slogans can decide outcome of Melaka polls battle

“Hidup Islam vs Reformasi”: War of slogans can decide outcome of Melaka polls battle

By Phlip Rodrigues

MELAKA goes to the polls on Nov 14 in a state election that could be a harbinger of the changes to come on the national stage when the country casts its ballots for the 16th General Election (GE16).

The Melaka state election will also be widely seen as a referendum on the policies of Pakatan Harapan (PH) since its ascension to the pinnacle of federal power.

So, how will the Melaka voters play the game? What will influence them to decide that PH should be the coalition worth supporting? Or will they all root for a resurgent Barisan Nasional (BN)?

All 79 candidates on the campaign trail will be mouthing aggressively the respective stand of their parties. Considering that this is an election that could trigger a GE16 battle sooner than expected, the attacks and counter-attacks will be intense.

Reformasi and Hidup Islam (Long Live Islam) that supporters of opposing camps chanted on nomination day on Oct 31 marked the start of the slogan war that is just as pivotal as casting the actual ballots.

A catchy political slogan can sway public opinion and even determine the outcome of a general election.

If a political party can come up with a slogan that resonates with the wishes of the people, it stands a good chance of capturing power.

Reformasi started off as a political slogan coined in 1998 by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the then deputy prime minister (DPM) in the cabinet of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Over the years it grew into a popular reformist movement and today it is still the slogan and battle cry of PH, especially Anwar’s PKR.

Hidup Islam can also be considered a slogan but it is more a rallying cry or catchphrase of the opposition coalition bloc Perikatan Nasional (PN) whose heavyweight partner PAS frequently uses it to advance its religious agenda.

Clinging to its Reformasi roots, PH is banking on its economic achievements and other promises of reforms to influence the Melaka electorate.

PAS president Tan Sri Hadi Awang (in wheelchair) with UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki (on Hadi’s left)

PH’s mild demeanour

Reformasi embodies all the ideals and aspirations of PKR whereby as a component of PH, the ruling coalition wants to rekindle the spirit of reforms to get the country moving along the path of modernisation and technological advancement.

The governing coalition wants to stay clear of sensitive issues that can cause instability. This is the approach that PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has said will guide the conduct of PH.

“Our red line is to completely reject the politics of hatred, the politics of incitement …” he reportedly said.

In other words, PH candidates will not resort to gutter politics but behave like gentlemen interested only in debating real policy issues.

This benign approach is commendable but will it catch fire? Will it be effective in mobilising the Malay electorate to cast their ballots for PH merely on the strength of its economic record?

Now comrades in arms, BN and PN will most likely go on the attack with religion and race as their battering ram. The war cry Hidup Islam will fill the air wherever and whenever their candidates deliver their speeches.

For PAS, the religious-fuelled slogan is its most potent weapon as it believes that the people now are more receptive to the idea of the Islamist party taking federal power after GE16.

Ultra-conservatives like PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and ultra-rightists like Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh will have a field day in Melaka harping on religion and race to the hilt to wreak the maximum damage on PH.

A past master at whipping up religious fervour, Hadi will not pass up the chance to press ahead with his agenda, especially during election season. Melaka could be his fertile playground for making a strong pitch for the party’s ideology and principles.

Hidup Islam roar drowns Reformasi cry

Akmal, contesting in the Merlimau state seat, is an expert at running down the other races. If he wins big in defending his seat against Melaka Amanah women’s wing chief Rahayu Hamzah, it will reinforce his credential as the indisputable hero and defender of the Malay community.

Call him the “warrior poster boy” in the Melaka drama, if you like.

UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh (waving) is defending the Merlimau state seat for a second term in office

At a time when religion has come to be the overriding issue for the dominant race, the slogan Hidup Islam will probably consume their attention to the exclusion of all other issues.

Every time the crowd roars “Hidup Islam!”, it is an affirmation of the superiority of religion over the politics of development and material wealth.

Every time rival contestants happen to hold ceramah next to each other, the cry of “Hidup Islam!” will mostly likely drown out the cheering for Reformasi.

Every time they chant the slogan, it is also directed at DAP whom Hadi had once labelled the “enemy of Islam”. DAP which is contesting seven seats will likely bear the brunt of the concentrated fire from the PAS battery.

And every time the candidates yell “Hidup Islam!”, they are scoring brownie points by moving closer to capturing the prized trophy – forming the next state government.

It is easier for people to understand the tenets of religion than to absorb the complexities of economic statistics and growth.

Melaka DAP chairman Khoo Poay Tiong (left)

A simple slogan with religious connotations like Hidup Islam is all it takes for politicians to effectively make their case in the court of public opinion.

Given the strong pull of religion in the current political climate, Hidup Islam may just give the BN-PN alliance the right push to the finishing line because nothing can beat God when His name is invoked.

On Nov 14, the banner of Islam will probably be hoisted alongside the flags of UMNO and PAS in the skies of this historic state – leaving PH to scramble for urgent answers to stay afloat in GE16.

Such an outcome will be a testimony to the power of religious slogans to sway voters in the country where bigots and extremists are in the ascendant. – Nov 5, 2026

Fadhli says low non-Malay turnout could help PN win Ayer Keroh

DAP has held the Ayer Keroh state seat in Melaka since 2008.

Pengundi PRN Negeri Sembilan 9
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said BN and PN could win a combined 24 of the 28 seats in the Melaka state election.
PETALING JAYA:
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari says Perikatan Nasional (PN) could win the Ayer Keroh seat in the Melaka election if non-Malay voters do not turn out in large numbers.

Speaking as a co-host on the Keluar Sekejap podcast, Fadhli said Barisan Nasional (BN) could win 21 seats and PN three, assuming a 70% transfer of votes between the coalitions at the Nov 14 polls.

He said Pakatan Harapan (PH) could lose Ayer Keroh – which DAP has held since 2008 – if vote transfer between the electoral allies reached 80% or 90%.

PH’s incumbent assemblyman Kerk Chee Yee faces a four-cornered contest for the Ayer Keroh seat against PN’s Michael Gan, Bersatu’s Hamnaim Mohamad and Bersama’s Muhaimin Lau Abdullah.

Ayer Keroh is the only one of the three mixed constituencies in Melaka previously held by DAP that remains in the party’s hands. The other two – Bemban and Duyong – were lost to PN and BN in the 2021 election.

“If non-Malay voters don’t come out, it’s not impossible for us to win Ayer Keroh,” said Fadhli.

“It could be Chennah number two. If BN could win Chennah… it’s not impossible that we can win Ayer Keroh if non-Malay voters don’t come out.”

DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook lost Chennah to MCA’s Siow Kong Choon by 688 votes in the Negeri Sembilan election in August, failing in his bid to serve as its assemblyman for a fourth consecutive term.

Fadhli said PN’s other key targets in Melaka included Machap and Bukit Katil, where he believed the combined votes for PN and BN could give PN an advantage.

He said Bukit Katil would be a closely watched seat, noting that it was previously won by Adly Zahari, PH’s candidate for chief minister.

Fadhli also said campaigning on social media had already intensified, and that Bukit Katil would be a “hot seat”.
