JIMMY LAI WAS TODAY FOUND GUILTY of illegal collusion with foreign forces to hurt Hong Kong.
The decision follows an 18-month trial in which overwhelming evidence was presented against him – a lot of which came from the Apple Daily publisher’s own phone, filled with messages from hostile political operatives in the US and the UK.
The court also heard about the massive distribution of cash from Lai and his assistant Mark Simon to fund anti-China groups in Hong Kong working under “pro-democracy” banners. These payments were ON TOP of financing from US regime-change organizations.
The conclusion was further inevitable after numerous members of his senior staff and other associates pleaded guilty to related charges, including one who said a bank account had been set aside for funding “from foreign forces”.
But this is when the foreign media will work hard to mislead the world about this case.
So here are seven myths about Jimmy Lai—and the truth.
Imagine if Jibby was denied his choice of loryar, that Noisy Arrogant Hotshot.
The case against Jimmy Lai was conducted without a jury, but before a panel of national security judges handpicked by Hong Kong’s chief executive at the behest of Beijing. Jimmy Lai was denied the right to be represented by his lawyer of choice, Tim Owen KC, after a favourable ruling by the Court of Final Appeal was frustrated by an “interpretation” of the National Security Law by the Chinese legislature and subsequent legislative amendments.
Trial by jury, isn't a legislative process common to HK. Likening in UK. Besides, many of the sitting judges r elected from allover the globe to serve in the HK court.
Jimmy Lai was denied the right to be represented by his lawyer of choice, Tim Owen KC, an UK court councillor. Many pommieland ex colonies used to allowcross border representation via proper application through court. Not many r approved.

BullyXi just made a uge mistake by firing his top general.
How Xi’s Purge Is Pushing China Toward Warlordism. Xi Started a Cultural Revolution inside PLA — And Can’t End It. China Can’t Invade Taiwan Anymore.
What happens when a leader destroys the chain of command he depends on?
Xi Jinping’s arrest of Zhang Youxia wasn’t just a purge — it shattered the PLA’s command structure. In this video, I explain why taking down China’s top active-duty general risks pushing the military toward fragmentation and modern warlordism, not greater control.
I break down the historical parallels with Lin Biao and the Cultural Revolution, why the Central Military Commission is now effectively paralyzed, and why this makes a Taiwan war far less likely — while increasing internal instability.
It is very strange that after Zhang Youxia’s sacking there is complete silence from the other senior personnel of the PLA. No expressions of sapot for Xi Jinping as you would expect.
The reason? Because most of the PLA actually sapot Zhang.
BullyXi never was a military man. Even during the few years he served in the PLA many decades ago he never held a gun, only a pen and notepad.
The last remaining member of the CMC (besides BullyXi) is Zhang Shengmin, who also has no fighting experience and spent most of his career as a political commissar, helping rebuild communities after natural disasters and fighting corruption.
So there you have it. The only remaining top general to lead the invasion of Taiwan.
the REAL fightings r conducted by frontline soldiers under the direct command of the military center chief. This chief ONLY respond to President Xi & not body else.
Modern warfare involves new warring strategies as proven by the heavy use of drones. Classic in with fighting skills r, just classic.
