YOURSAY | “Rounding them up is a very colossal and laborious task.”
COMMENT | Bolehland: Where the poor pay, the powerful walk free
MarioT: As one of my friends put it very philosophically, once you let the cattle loose, to round them up will be a very colossal and laborious task.
This is precisely the case with corruption in this country. It has gone haywire and operates with the fervour of a religious practice.
It has penetrated almost every area of security, development, procurement, and welfare. Even the Agong pointed out the risks of buying second-hand fighter jets, which he referred to as “flying coffins”.
There is really no strong will by the authorities to control these disastrous activities by unscrupulous and unpatriotic people who abuse their positions to amass great wealth beyond one’s imagination, while the majority of people struggle to eke out a living.

There is a trend to trap the big and fat mouse, only to set it free later.
Yes, you are absolutely right with your headlines.
The powerful live in their own little fortresses, which they have built to protect themselves from any action for fraudulent activities.
Our Business Philosophy: Why build industries when you can build influence? Why innovate when you can intimidate? At Corruption Sdn Bhd, we believe in turning power into profit - fast.
Our Products & Services: Fast Cash Extraction™ - From Covid funds to national projects, we ensure money flows smoothly… straight into private accounts.
Money-Laundering Solutions™ - Don’t worry about accountability; just return a portion when caught. No charges, no problem.

Family Enrichment Packages™ - For after you leave office. Use loopholes to grow your dynasty while keeping the rakyat entertained with slogans about “service” and “sacrifice”.
Our Target Market - Prime ministers (even the two-year variety), ministers with itchy fingers, politically connected business people who love “government projects”.
Our Track Record - Billions allegedly syphoned during pandemic years. Decades of state funds redirected “creatively”. Zero consequences for top shareholders.
Our Vision - To remain Malaysia’s most sustainable business -powered not by innovation, but by impunity.
Corruption Sdn Bhd™ - Where taxpayers invest, and politicians harvest.
Existential Turd: If a mother steals a loaf of bread to feed her children and returns the bread after eating a few slices, she would still be charged in court and go to jail.
If a politician steals RM10 million and returns RM5 million, he walks free. Quite a lucrative business model.
The lesson you learn is – if you want to steal, steal big.
When a country loses its moral bearings, you can bet your top ringgit it is on its way to becoming a failed state.
BlackEagle6393: While the rich and powerful are stuffing up money in safe-houses, ordinary citizens are still bickering about unpatriotic individuals of a particular race and how they have been plundering another particular race dry.
So now you know how important this deflection strategy is for the rich and powerful.
Unfortunately, most of us are dumb enough to fall for it. So who do we blame if not ourselves?

There will be no awakening if the majority does not wake up to the reality of the situation.
Just how many self-made, hardworking business people can boast of having RM170 million in their personal bank account, let alone leave it lying in safe houses?
Only in Malaysia do things like this seem nothing out of the ordinary.
Neutral Point: How can a person just forgo RM170 million just like that?
Please use your common sense. Why is he not charged or further investigated for where he got the money?
The money could be from the government coffers, which belong to the taxpayers. Is there some deal being done that we aren’t aware of?
GoldenHawk4197: That’s why it’s called “Boleh” land. When we have been having incompetent and downright corrupt clowns helming this country for decades, where races are becoming more divided, it would be better to find another name for Malaysia which would fit the prevailing injustices!
Outlier: Not only can the rich pay the fine, but they are also incentivised with a discounted rate.
I guess the justice system doesn’t apply the concept of punitive and compensatory damages.
Cyclonus: There are two rules of law for two different sets of people.
There is no political will to change this.
