The Thai government has confirmed it will attend a regional peace consultation in Malaysia on Monday to discuss the escalating border conflict with Cambodia.
Government spokesperson Jirayu Huangsap said Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, in his capacity as the current Asean chair, has invited the Thai leadership to discuss the Thai-Cambodian conflict.
“Acting prime minister Phumtham Wechayachai will lead the Thai delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, Deputy Defence Minister General Natthaphon Nakpanich, and other senior officials, to attend the consultation at the Prime Minister’s Office in Malaysia,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
He added that it has also been confirmed that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will personally attend the consultation at the invitation of the Asean chair.
Jirayu said the Thai delegation is scheduled to depart from the Royal Thai Air Force base at approximately 10.30am, with the meeting set for 3pm (Malaysian time).
“The purpose of these talks is to listen to proposals that may lead to informed decisions and ultimately restore peace. The Thai government remains steadfast in its commitment to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Thailand,” he said.
On Friday, Anwar also held separate discussions with both the Thai and Cambodian leaders, urging them to agree to an immediate ceasefire.
United Nations secretary-general António Guterres, who expressed deep concern over the clashes on Friday, likewise urged both sides to agree to an immediate ceasefire and resolve their differences through dialogue.
The border dispute between the two nations escalated on July 25, leading to armed clashes along Cambodia’s northern border region.
The latest hostilities have reportedly resulted in over 20 fatalities on the Thai side.
At the same time, Cambodian authorities stated that five soldiers and eight civilians have been killed, with thousands displaced on both sides of the border.
Tensions between Thailand and Cambodia have been rising since May 28, following a confrontation between soldiers near the disputed Preah Vihear border area, which led to the death of a Cambodian soldier.
The two Southeast Asian neighbours have long contested an 817km undemarcated stretch of their shared border, which has remained a persistent source of tension and diplomatic strain.

Cambodia can talk big, knowing it has 5000yo Bully's sapot.
ReplyDeleteIt all began with Pol Pot who got BullyMao's approval in 1975 for the Great Kampuchean Genocide (1975-1979), the "Killing Fields" to create an agrarian utopian society, a copybook example of Bully's "Great Leap Forward" (1958-1962) when 55 million died of famine. More than a million Kampuchians died. These are real Nakbas. Makes Gaza look like a steak and hotdog BBQ. But today everybody has forgotten. No justice was sought. No ICC or ICJ prosecutions. Only talk about Gaza Gaza Gaza where food is trucked and air-dropped in everyday.
Today Ream is Bully's Naval Base at the mouth of SCS.

Great Leap Forward was undeniably a serious mismanagement resulting in famine but did China go about killing another race to seize their land? Did anyone other than the Chinese Diaspora help China then?
DeleteThe Cambodian Genocide or "Killing Fields: did not go punished. The Vietnamese militarily stopped the massacres in 1978 - Wiki informs that: In 2003, by agreement[34] between the Cambodian government and the United Nations, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Court of Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Tribunal) were established to try the members of the Khmer Rouge leadership responsible for the Cambodian genocide. Trials began in 2009. Many genocide butchers were trialled, found guilty and jailed for life. So don't talk kerbau to divert attention from the current genocide in Gaza. Satanyahu and Biden need the same punishment.
that zionist arselicker WOULD do anything just to whitewash the zionist state's current MASSACRE & GENOCIDE happen in Gaza w/o fail.
DeleteFollowing the Nakba of the Great Leap Forward which went unpunished, BullyMao was emboldened and followed up with the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) where tens of millions more innocent people were killed. There was mass starvation and cannibalism.
ReplyDeletePolPot followed BullyMao’s template in Kampuchea, the Killing Field’s happened immediately after Mao’s approval, starting in 1975. Pol Pot died in the jungles, a lonely man, but BullyMao again escaped punishment, his face is on every currency note and his picture hanging in Tiananmen Square.
One day somebody’s picture may be hanging proudly in Jerusalem…..ha3.

Oooop… u used Wikipedia as yr mfering source!
DeleteWhy don't u try the File:CIA Archives Chinas Great Leap Forward 1958.webm for yr lies debunking exercise?
No KT. Killing your own race, innocent civilians is much much worse than killing terrorists who attacked your country, murdered, raped and took hundreds of your people as hostages. Where got comparison. Did the 40 million who died attack, rape, murder or kidnap anyone?
ReplyDeleteu have proofs?
DeleteOoop… wikipedia!
Only Pol Pot's deputy Nuon Chea (92), Khieu Samphan (85) and Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch have been convicted of genocide, but THIRTY TO FORTY YEARS after the Killing Fields, after they had lived full lives. Many people criticised the tribunals for moving at a glacial and very expensive pace, and being susceptible to political interference from Hun Sen’s government. Hun Sen was also a Khmer Rouge officer but he manipulated the slow (& show) trial and somehow he became the PM for 25 years (even longer than Toonsie ha3) and orchestrated his son Hun Manet to succeed him as PM. Talk about punishment. Most victims think the long, expensive tribunal was a hollow exercise.
ReplyDeletePol Pot? Brother Nambar One died in 1998 a lonely but free man in the jungle. He died before the charges were even brought to him. So he escaped punishment completely.
mfer, u want comparison in genocide judgment?
DeleteWhat happened to those Nazis scientists who invented the V2 rockets during WWII?
The yank sapu-ed ALL of them back to yankeeland & protect them from any UN prosecutions.
Ditto with those mfering Japanese 蝗军 Unit 731 which conducted inhuman biological/germicide experiments in Northern China.
The yank shipped ALL of them back to yankeeland, together with all their 'research' findings to help develop the yank's biolab of weapon.
Killing Fields was in the 70s. Trial began in 2009? Pol Pot already died in 1998!!!!!
ReplyDeletePol Pot died in 1998. The Trial for his deputies started in 2009, 30-40 years after the killing fields and took more than 10 years to complete. By then they had lived full lives. Justice Delayed is Justice Denied.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Justice Delayed is Justice Denied. As a natural rule, there is always a time lapse!
DeleteSay that to the zionist state.
“人在做天在看,凡事凭良心,报应会迟到从不会缺席”
The Court of Cambodia “Tribunal” was a Kangaroo Court orchestrated by Brother Nambar 7(?) Hun Sen, a PM for 25 years, surpassing Toonsie (ha3) and it dragged on for so long many of the victims and their children had passed away. Why didn’t the ICC and ICJ act on Pol Pot as quickly as they did on Netanyahu? They should have issued arrest warrants for Brothers Nambar 1 to 10, during the Killings in Cambodia, just like they did to Netanyahu when the Gaza war is still going on.
ReplyDeleteSo efficient when Isaacs are involved.
Because there are no Isaacs involved in Cambodia, ICC handled with kids glove, let the Khmers conduct the trial themselves…...and they dragged it for 40 years.
mfer, check who ordered the use of Agent Orange in Vietnam war & spilled them into Cambodia.
DeleteU will find the dirty hand of the zionists, either as suppliers &/or deployers!
The Nuremberg Trials started IMMEDIATELY at the conclusion of WW2 in Europe and concluded in 1949, ie 4 years.
ReplyDeleteThe Tokyo War Crime Trials was even faster; from 1945 to 1948, chop chop, all done.
The Kampuchean Killing Fields "Trial" took 30 years just to start then another 10 or more to finish. By then most of the victims and even many of their children had died. No justice for them. The main perpetrator Pol Pot died long before the trial even started.
The Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution deaths, which total 55 million, more than the entire WW2, in Europe and Pacific. The man who was in charge during those years was rewarded by having his face printed on every currency note since.
But Netanyahu? The bullets are still flying and he is condemned already.
mfer, ain't u the one who cries 'Justice Delayed is Justice Denied'?
DeleteMfer, make up yr f*died mind!
