BOBBYO: This nation is doomed when recycled personalities with colourful pasts are promoted.

The past history of Sabah Governor Musa Aman is so clear to see and the evidence presented is unquestionable. Yet they are promoted to a higher level, not forgetting given the title “Tun” (high honorific title).

It is a shame, when today it is not the decisions of the people, but elites and those in political power who decide to promote one of their own man.

Why? So that they can carry on their own selfish self-centred agendas.

So why even talk of fighting corruption, when the head of MACC and now the governor of Sabah have very colourful questionable past.

Hypocrites or chameleons who speak in front of the people about one agenda, but at the back, they do the complete opposite.

Those of us who have a modicum of “critical thinking“ ability will know PMX Anwar Ibrahim’s political modus operandi is about reinforcing “Ketuananism “(Malay supremacy) in the psyche of Malaysians.

These regressive appointments make Anwar more secure but sadly it stifles our development, demoralises huge portions of the citizenry and emboldens the corrupt who know the anti-corruption drive is “all sound and fury, signifying nothing“.

Resource-rich Malaysia will bump along in a mediocre fashion in the short term, but the wealth accrued from resources will not be enjoyed by the B40 (poor of the population). The main beneficiaries as always will be the T10 or more likely the T05 (top 10 or five percent of the population with high income).

The rakyat have been “had“ and it is with bitterness that they realise this. More galling is that they were taken for a ride twice - first with the “Sheraton Move” and now with the “Madani Moves“.

Anwar represents the last vestiges of the old order which he is studiously trying to keep alive at all cost. Isn’t Umno screaming at us in all directions about his modus operandi?

Talk of reform, zero tolerance for corruption and critical thinking are rhetorical bromides which the rakyat can see through, but hell does Madani care. PMX has power over the masses now and he will do his utmost to keep it that way.

Vent: The appointment of Mohd Ali Rustam as Malacca governor was bad enough but this takes the cake! How does this political musang (fox) deserve his honour? He certainly won’t get the people’s respect.

But I’ve become somewhat inured to this appointment because after the two DNAAs (discharge not amounting to an acquittal) this seems de rigueur (required by etiquette).

If we can have a deputy prime minister with 47 corruption charges, why not a governor with one less? Never mind that we are viewed askance by others but Malaysia masih boleh (still can).

Feudalism allows some sections of the society to get away with anything. The only anomaly in the situation is that the party that holds sway in all these political calibrations is one that was humiliated and defeated at the polls, but it is one that a despised PM must cling to for his dear political life!

World Citizen: I have only one thing to say to party Muda: Please get your act together and form some strong alliances with the right parties. You would have to get some prominent and strong people into your party and build your party into a strong force. Do this quickly before the next general election, which is not too far away.

People are so fed up with Pakatan Harapan, Umno, MCA, MIC, Bersatu, PAS and all other “corrupt” parties. We want a fresh start for this country, and this can only happen with the young people of Malaysia.

Steven Ong: To say “The appointment of the Sabah governor is at the discretion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong“ is to hide behind the royalty, because the Agong cannot be questioned and is above the politics in the country.

These spineless politicians are using the Agong like a shield to shield a problematic issue. Like former (deceased) Sarawak governor, Taib Mahmud, Musa was also allegedly involved in corruption.

In Malaysia, friends of those in power are protected, and “Tun” (honorific title) cannot be prosecuted, hence he cannot be charged again. His past allegations are thrown in the river. This may be one of the reasons why Malaysian rivers are very polluted.

According to the New Straits Times June 19, 2020, Musa was acquitted and discharged of all 46 criminal charges linked to timber concessions contracts in the state.

This was after deputy public prosecutor Azhar Abdul Hamid told the court that the prosecution was withdrawing all the corruption and money laundering charges against the accused.

Why charge Musa and then withdraw the charges? It’s very suspicious and a waste of public funds.
