PAS Youth slams satiric cartoon associating Muhyiddin with Kaaba on Zunar Fan Club page
PAS Youth has denounced an insulting cartoon that depicts the backdrop of Kaaba (dubbed the holiest/most sacred shrine in Islam) being used as a revenge and satire against Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
It turns out that this ‘troll’-like piece of art without any sense of glory to the Kaaba and the sanctity of Islam by the artist responsible is a form of provocation to Muslims especially during the fasting month of Ramadan, according to PAS Youth information chief Nazir Helmi.
“PAS youth will initiate a massive police report against the artist and the FB page administrator of Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club for this uncalled for insult when Muslims are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan,” Nazir retaliated on HarakahDaily.
“Pakatan Harapan (PH) fanatics have failed to understand this sensitivity because the value of religion does not seem to be important to them so much so that they are willing to treat a glorified religious symbol as a toy to trigger the emotions of their political enemies even as the government failed to justify the visit of the 10th Prime Minister (PMX) to Arabia Saudi.”
Meanwhile, cartoonist Haili Kki has owned up to be the creator of the cartoon posted on the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club Facebook page yesterday (March 29).
“The cartoon was drawn and uploaded by me on the Zunar Cartoonist Fan Club. It has nothing to do with Cartoonist Zunar (referring to controversial political cartoonist Zulkiflee SM Anwar Haque) and I am fully responsible for the posting of the cartoon. Thank you,” he clarified following backlash against Zunar. – March 30, 2023
