Rafizi Ramli

SEREMBAN — Aug. 29, 2022: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said his party would prefer to lose in the 15th general election than cooperate with Perikatan Nasional.
“Win or lose is a different story…. we want to defend our idealism,” he remarked after a PKR event here last night.
His reasoning is that if PKR’s intention to cooperate with Perikatan is only to defeat Barisan Nasional, then it would only later on create an unstable government.
Rafizi said Pakatan Harapan had also made the same decision during the coalition’s leadership meeting last Wednesday.
Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had said that his coalition would welcome cooperation with other parties, including Perikatan, to defeat Barisan.
Muhyiddin reminded that Pribumi Bersatu, which he leads, was part of the Perikatan coalition which defeated Barisan in the previous general elections in May 2018.
Pribumi Bersatu however pulled out of Pakatan 22 months later, causing the collapse of the government. Muhyiddin then set up Perikatan and became the country’s 8th prime minister.

I hope the rest of PKR supports what Rafizi said.
