Drag queens land cosmetic entrepreneur in hot water
The presence of drag queens in a Hari Raya music video featuring cosmetic entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida has landed her in hot water.
Vida, whose real name is Hasmiza Othman, said the music video was meant for entertainment but instead faced a complaint accusing her of promoting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual (LGBT) community.
In an Instagram post yesterday, Hasmiza confirmed that she was questioned by the MCMC for four hours.
"All kinds of questions were asked during the four hours I gave my statement to the MCMC. It was not an easy process, but I went through it patiently and with a positive attitude.
"Honestly, I am feeling pressured and down over why an issue like this is being exaggerated by certain groups when it never crossed my mind to promote LGBT.
"The music video was only to create something different and entertain people. Unfortunately, I have to face this problem and is called to the MCMC to give a statement," she was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.
Hasmiza said the music video titled 'Muah Muah Raya' should only be taken as entertainment.
In the video, Hasmiza was seen singing with a group of drag queens.
