“Mukhriz wants to be ‘big tent’ PM: Netizens mock the Pejuang leader’s demands
TWO days ago, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said that he would like to study the “offers” made by Pakatan Harapan (Pakatan) first before deciding on the latter’s “big tent” agenda.
While he acknowledged that there were several preliminary talks from both sides over it, nothing has been decided as it has not moved to a full-fledged discussion.
“We want to understand what Pakatan means by ‘big tent’ and what is the role of each party given that Pejuang is small, with only four MPs.
“Let us give them time to explain what it means,” Utusan Malaysia reported the former Kedah Menteri Besar as saying.
However, Mukhriz’s demands tickled the funny bones of netizens, who took to social media to mock the Jerlun MP.
Leading the series of puns was UMNO supreme council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek who said:
(Make sure the tent is big enough or else you will end up like the story of the Arab merchant and his camel. When it gets cold, the camel will slowly demand more and more space inside the tent until the merchant gets thrown out. It looks like many people will be busy building tents after Hari Raya)
Echoing Ahmad Shabery’s statement, user Anjang Opocot added:
[The condition is Mukhriz must be made prime minister. Only then Atuk (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) will be at peace. Never mentioned Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s name]
Netizen Zainal Azlan Zainudin jested:
(Careful…there might be a storm coming once you guys end up in a big tent)
As of now, there is a division among Pakatan leadership on how to go about taking on the might of a resurgent Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election, which may be called this year.
Pejuang is shameless
Several leaders have proposed for Pakatan to adopt the “big tent” formula, which is to align itself with all Opposition parties. They are also mulling to approach Perikatan Nasional (Perikatan) for the said matter.
However, several Pakatan leaders have rejected proposals to negotiate with Perikatan, given that its lynchpin outfit, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) was instrumental in ousting the former from Putrajaya in 2020.
On that note, several netizens panned Pejuang for being boastful, given its disastrous outing in the Johor state by-election where all of its candidates lost their deposits.

Netizen Raffi LSH remarked:
That PH bothered to talk to Pejuang speaks volumes about the principles of PH elites; starting with Anwar.
ReplyDeletePejuang will die a natural death the moment the old buffoon goes to collect his 72 virgins or perhaps raisins.
Pejuang will add ZERO value.
