Guan Eng hopes PPBM will shut door to tainted Umno members
GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today hoped PPBM will not admit former Umno members who are involved in corruption scandals, especially those connected to the 1MDB issue.
He was asked to comment on PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call to Malay-based political parties, including Umno, to join PPBM for the sake of unity.
Lim said he had yet to read Mahathir’s statement but noted that previously, PPBM had used a “cooling-off” period before admitting Umno MPs into its fold.
“There are some people Tun would never accept.“Of course, if you take in Ku Nan (former Umno secretary-general and now treasurer Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor) and Najib Razak, that is unacceptable.
“Those who were admitted into PPBM the last time were those who were not directly involved in 1MDB,” he said on the sidelines of an event here today.

Guanee is enjoying himself seeing Toonsie having to grovel to Malays in other parties to join Bersatu.
ReplyDeleteThe procession of poisonous cane toads has dried up. But Toonsie needs more. 26 still cannot match 42. Toonsie's face-to-face meeting with LKS did not go well. LKS basically looked down at his shoes, buat tak tahu, played Sudah Aku Punya on his Huawei and was non-committal about supporting Bersatu after Toonsie steps down. Remember LKS has laid his career on supporting Anwar/PKR as PM8, not anybody from Bersatu.
"If Bersatu want to accept more termite queens into your house go ahead, we can't stop you. But don't say we didn't warn you" was basically what Guanee said.
"In fact it would be better for DAP if Toonsie accepts these termites because it will ensure Bersatu's collapse when Toonsie steps down. We don't care, it's Bersatu's problem, our money is on Anwar as the next PM" was what Guanee didn't say but was thinking in his head...
