KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — Saying it would ensure political stability, Datuk Husam Musa has nominated Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for deputy prime minister when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim takes over the reins of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

Husam told Sinar Harian in an interview published today that Anwar should consider a Malay leader not from his own party PKR to maintain the current political equilibrium demonstrated by current PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“I am emboldening myself today to discuss this topic, and I propose that Anwar pick a Malay leader not one from PKR as an indicator of reciprocating Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s move to appoint someone not from PPBM to become the deputy prime minister who is Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“I suggest [to Anwar], appoint a deputy prime minister from PPBM, that is Muhyiddin; if it is Muhyiddin, surely it would be a combination that can secure the transition of power,” Husam told the Malay daily.

Podah Musa Husam, why should Pribumi get one of the two top  cabinet posts when it's a small wee lil' party in Pakatan? Wakakaka.

It's bad enough already when Pakatan was chong-ed out of the PM position which should NOW go to Anwar Ibrahim.

well-known globally and a friend of everyone and previously a darn good Finance Minister

we certainly DON'T need a PM who calls Jews hooked-nose

wakakaka

And why not DAP, the party in Pakatan with the second largest number (42) of MPs?

Indeed, why not even Amanah? How about Mat Sabu? Everyone likes him, most of all RMAF people, wakakaka. We could have a comedian amongst our top two leaders, wakakaka.

The DAP can offer a true blue Melayu and one even of blue blood, namely, Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji, a member of Pahang's royal family. He is currently a federal minister and has bags of experience at federal, state and local council level politics. His father was a former Pahang PAS deputy commissioner who was also a former PAS committee member, hence Tengku Zulpuri may allay the fears of PAS of a DAP DPM.

Alternatively, the DAP can offer an intellectual in Dr Abdul Aziz Bari, where the Rocket Party can do a 'Port Dickson' for the Perak ADUN and propel him into the DPM position.

Time for the DAP to earn some overdue rewards for its second placing in GE14, and eff Pribumi.

  1. Muhyiddin is currently a walking Zombie.
I don't blame him, he is undergoing treatment for a life-threatening illness, but forget about DPM post.

  4. Wouldn't it be fairer, than what is suggested by Husam from Amanah if the post of DPM is increased to accomodate at least the leaders from all other component parties of PH other than the party the PM comes from? And this to include specifically at least 1 DPM from East Malaysia.

Who cares whether there are 4 or 5 DPMs since the next PM will be decided by the PH Presidential Council and not by who is/are holding the DPM or DPMs posts.

Constitutionally and legally, there is nothing illegal to have a DPM or more than 1 DPM anyway.

  5. USA , the World's largest economy and largest military power has 1 Vice President.

China, World"s second largest economy , and Most populous nation, has 2 Vice Presidents.

Malaysia, 35th largest economy in the world will need 4-5 DPM's ?

Sarawak and Sabah both have 1 CM and 3 Deputy CM in their Cabinet.

      Aren't they working well?

It's also like the number of bloated Govt. servants (approx. 1.4 million) serving a small Malaysian population of only about 32 million. By right, with that ratio of civil servants to the population, all the Govt. services should even be delivered right to everyone's doorsteps instead of having to see them at the Govt. offices.

So, having 4-5 DPMs perhaps can also help the PM speed up any outstanding Reforms and fulfilling all the PH Manfestos promises instead of just 1 DPM sitting around doing nothing except fanning herself and waiting for her hubby to be PM, while the old man PM shuffles around in his office and does things at his slow leisurely pace and going for toilet break every 1/2 hours.
