Will DAP change new lamp for old?

FMT - No, no, no, say netizens to Pakatan Harapan’s 3 proposed logos (extracts):

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) probably did not expect this when it shortlisted three logos – one of which it hopes to be the pact’s logo – for public comment.

Netizens have given all three logos the thumbs down, including, ironically, one logo which has a thumbs up sign. [...]

so stupid and unattractive

In an explanatory note, Rafizi (Ramli) said PH would register the chosen logo in two weeks time. [...]

Two of the three logos contain the word “HARAPAN” with rays radiating outwards from the word. These two logos with the same designs, however, use different fonts and background colours – one background in orange and the other in red.

The third design incorporates a “thumbs up” sign against a red and white background with the words PAKATAN HARAPAN.

Some social media users criticised the designs and choice of colours, saying the red and white were too similar to the colours of BN’s Umno and newest Pakatan Harapan member Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM). [...]

Previously, PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said the opposition should have a single logo and symbol to contest in the next general election.

The whole idea has by Mahathir (Boss of Pribumi) (PPBM) and that's because he knows the Pribumi logo is not well known and won't be well supported.

A new logo with a brand name like Pakatan (plus Pakatan promotion) carries some weight which Mahathir (and his Pribumi) wants to ride upon.

The biggest loser will be the DAP while the biggest winners will be PKR and Pribumi.

If you do not know the candidates well, you (especially non-Malays) could well be voting for Pribumi which is, like its parent UMNO, a race-based or racist party (its name Pribumi alone is racist and offends nons as it reeks of ketuanan pribumiputera).

Pribumi now wants to masquerade its chauvinistic self under the Pakatan brand.

You could mistake some of its candidates may well be (like) DAP's Dyana Sofya or Young Syefura Othman (popularly known as Rara), etc.

The less popular Chinese candidates of PKR could slyly surreptitiously slip in on a rocket ticket (especially in Penang, Selangor, FT, NS, Sarawak, Sabah and Johor) if DAP's supporters mistake them for DAP candidates - blast, wakakaka.

And the DAP may well lose big by senselessly changing logo a la the mistake of Aladdin's wife in exchanging a "new lamp for old lamp".

I hope the DAP won't be that stupid to discard its renown logo, supported by the rakyat since 1969, for a new unknown and confusing Pakatan logo.
