PETALlNG JAYA , March 8 ― Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and PAS will enter into negotiations on seat allocations in the next general elections, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.
Muhyiddin, who is PPBM president, confirmed the cosier ties between the two federal Opposition parties, which he said have ongoing discussions led by PPBM deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
“So we have already received a new signal; PAS invited us to discuss seat allocations. That is a great way forward. There is progress and we will facilitate this in our meeting soon,” he said at the PPBM headquarters.
“So this is the development. However, we still feel a framework of cooperation with PAS must be clear and also take into account the cooperation that we have already formed with Pakatan Harapan,” Muhyiddin added, referring to the federal Opposition pact.
When asked how PPBM will deal with any possible clashes or overlaps in its two separate seat allocation talks with PAS and Pakatan Harapan, Muhyiddin said: “We will sort it out. We will try as much as possible to sort it out.”
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them - [Isaiah 11:6 - KJV]
The last sentence, to wit, Moody's statement “We will sort it out. We will try as much as possible to sort it out”, is interesting because it reveals many things about Pribumi's intention, doubts and attitude.
His 2-sentence statement tells you that he was initially optimistic but swiftly tarik balik his overconfident assertion when he realised his boast (to sort out the the Grand Canyon-ish acrimonious differences between PAS and DAP, and PAS and AMANAH) might be a wee over optimistic.
In fact I would say it's now impossible to make peace between PAS and AMANAH UNLESS to PAS' views, AMANAH surrenders and (as Korean TV dramas would put it, wakakaka) kneels down to beg for forgiveness from Papa.
As for PAS and DAP, it might be possible but only if DAP leaves every issue on possible political alliance for DAP to Lim Kit Siang who is now prepared to politically 'marry' anyone including PAS, even if he flip flops on his earlier policy stand, as he has in working with Mahathir who he had lambasted, excoriated and raved at in 2002 for Mahathir's 929 & 617 Declarations. So what's terrible about working with hudud-bent PAS?
Moody was no doubt exhilarated in having already received a new signal [saying] PAS invited us to discuss seat allocations but I recommend prudence as the ulterior motive of the MOON party could well be to drive a wedge between Pribumi and Pakatan, or to let off a 3-corner contest bomb at the 11th hour, wakakaka.
I am of the conviction PAS has already been promised 'something' by UMNO, wakakaka again.
But in essence, it would appear that Pribumi in allying itself with PAS is looking after numero uno, and its so-called alliance with DAP is not worth a shit sen.
