A few days back there was a Russian airstrike close to the Ukraine - Poland border. The Russians were hitting trains. The Russians have developed a tactic of NOT attacking coaches with passengers. But they strike the locomotives or engines. Once the locomotives or engines are knocked out the new replacements are hard to come by. So the trains cannot move. This has seriously disrupted the entire railway system in Ukraine. 

The Russians also conserve ammunition because they only strike the locomotive engines and also avoid collateral casualties.

A few days ago a whole group of western visitors including ex British PM Boris Johnson, ex CIA Director General Petraeus, the present National Security Advisors of Germany and to the British PM, the Foreign Minister of Poland and other western dignitaries were travelling by train from Kiev towards Poland. They did not fly beause flying is dangerous inside Ukraine.

They had disembarked at a railway station at the Poland - Ukraine border to switch trains. Soon after they had disembarked there was a Russian airstrike at that railway station which destroyed some locomotives.  It has been reported that ex CIA Director General Petraeus witnessed the Russian airstrike (and had to take cover). 

Meantime US intelligence has warned Kiev that the Russians will be executing a total of 14 massive strikes against ALL of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This will prioritise electric power generation plants, oil and gas storage facilities, oil refineries, petrol stations etc. 

Just two days back the Russians launched the largest drone strike ever with over 1,000 Geran drones flying all over Ukraine to hit targets of military value. Surprisingly the western media reports few deaths or casualties despite such massive attacks. 

The Russians are also dropping FAB GPS guided bombs which are devastating. About 280 FAB bombs per day or about 8,000 bombs per month. These are the old Soviet era 'dumb' gravity bombs (500 kg, 1 tone, 3 tons) which have been modified with cheap tail fins and guidance systems. The simple modifications make the bombs as accurate as precision guided missiles - but with the oversized payload of Soviet era dumb bombs.  

Despite such massive strikes the western media reports few civilian casualties.  This is either deliberate or there are indeed few civilian casualties.  No Vietnam war or Iraq war style massive carpet bombing of civilian populations.

The party wants Putrajaya to disclose admission data, quotas and selection criteria for higher education pathways.

Selangor MCA chief Lawrence Low said about 630 members turned up for the state chapter’s convention today.

Selangor MCA has called on the government to fully recognise the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) for admission to public universities and employment in the civil service.

In a resolution adopted at its 2026 state convention, the party urged Putrajaya to “fulfil its election promises as soon as possible” by granting full recognition to the UEC through a “fair, transparent and standardised” mechanism.

In May, the government decided that UEC graduates could pursue their studies at public higher learning institutions.

However, the programmes available to them are limited to the following: bachelor of arts in Chinese language studies with honours; bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and linguistics; bachelor of arts in Chinese studies; and bachelor’s degree in Chinese language with education.

Selangor MCA also called for a review of admission mechanisms for STPM, matriculation and foundation programmes, as well as the public university admission system (UPU).

The party said admissions should be based on academic performance and merit, with qualified students given equal opportunities.

“The government must ensure that all qualified students are given equal opportunities and publicly disclose admission data, quota allocations and selection criteria for all higher education pathways,” the resolution said.

After the convention, Selangor MCA chief Lawrence Low told reporters that about 630 members turned up for the event, which discussed politics, party affairs, education, culture and the economy.

During the convention, he said there were also calls to review Selangor’s guidelines on non-Muslim houses of worship following public complaints about the demolition of places of worship and parking issues.

He said a special committee headed by Petaling Jaya MCA youth chief Andy Teoh would look into the legal aspects of the guidelines and the complaints.

Pig farms

Selangor MCA also urged the state government to consult pig farmers and industry operators over existing livestock farming policies and provide compensation and assistance to those affected.

“The government should assist industry operators in making an orderly transition to other suitable livestock sectors,” it said.

The call comes after the Selangor government imposed a statewide ban on pig farming earlier this year, with existing farms ordered to cease operations in stages.

On the economy, Selangor MCA called for the goods and services tax to replace the sales and service tax and e-invoice system, and proposed a cross-sector special economic committee to coordinate the government’s response to global economic risks and external shocks.

It also called for tighter verification and monitoring of foreign nationals and refugees, particularly the Rohingya, as well as a review of the migrant worker recruitment system.

Another assemblyman urges the state government to clarify its official stand while former MB Aminuddin Harun calls on the people to reject leaders who betray the royal institution.

Pakatan Harapan representatives in Negeri Sembilan Teo Kok Seong, J Arul Kumar and Aminuddin Harun criticised the exco statement purportedly announcing Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir’s removal as ruler.

A statement purportedly issued by members of the the Negeri Sembilan executive council should not be considered as representing the state government, says DAP’s Bahau assemblyman Teo Kok Seong.

Teo, who served in the exco from 2023 to 2026, said the state government’s official stand on any matter is typically made known in a statement by the menteri besar or the state secretary’s office.

“Therefore, the statement by the lineup of exco members only reflects the views of the members involved.

“It should not be considered as the state government’s official stand,” he said in a Facebook post.

Separately, Negeri Sembilan DAP chief J Arul Kumar urged the state government to clarify its official stand on Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir’s position as the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.

Arul pointed out that the purported statement issued by the exco, declaring Tuanku Muhriz’s removal as valid, contradicted menteri besar Ismail Lasim’s statement yesterday where he emphasised that he had no power to unilaterally remove the Yang Dipertuan Besar.

The Nilai assemblyman said these contradictory statements were matters of concern as they were the result of the same Negeri Sembilan exco meeting held yesterday.

“Every exco member has the right to have their own views during discussions, but when a decision is made, there must be only one official decision, and it cannot be presented in various forms that could confuse the people.

“Contradictory statements like in this case should never have happened, all the more when it involves the royal institution as they will have major implications on stability and the people’s confidence in the state’s administration.

“I urge the menteri besar and his exco lineup to take immediate steps to align the state government’s official stand, and offer a clear and responsible explanation on the issue to the people,” he said in a statement.

Arul said the state government must reveal the actual decision made following the exco meeting yesterday, and which one of the statements was the official line.

He added that all matters involving the royal institution must be handled carefully, responsibly and lawfully as they represent the state’s sovereignty, history and identity.

Yesterday, Ismail said the issue of the proclamation seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz should be resolved through legitimate constitutional and legal processes and not taken as a political or personal matter.

Today, several of the exco members from Umno published a statement purportedly declaring Tuanku Muhriz’s removal. However, Ismail’s office has yet to confirm the statement.

Perikatan Nasional’s two representatives in the exco, Fairuz Isa (Serting) and Razali Abu Samah (Sikamat), did not republish the statement.

Give Tuanku Muhriz your support, urges Aminuddin

Ismail’s predecessor, Aminuddin Harun, meanwhile urged the people of Negeri Sembilan to unanimously give Tuanku Muhriz their backing as the state’s Yang Dipertuan Besar.

“I call on the people of Negeri Sembilan to unite and pray for the wellbeing of Tuanku Muhriz and defend the sovereignty of our constitutional monarchy.

“Reject leaders who betray the royal institution and breach the constitution. Our loyalty is to king and country,” he said in a Facebook post.

Separately, veteran journalist Kalimullah Hassan dismissed the exco’s statement, questioning when it was given the authority to decide on the removal of the Yang Dipertuan Besar.

“Since when can the Negeri Sembilan exco decide to remove a ruling monarch? Then, can it happen in Pahang as well? Or in Kelantan? Or any other state?” he said in a Facebook post.
