PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is concerned over the possibility of a hung parliament after the 15th general election (GE15).

He said if no party achieved the simple majority of 112 seats, then there was a need for a new alliance to be formed among certain political parties, Astro Awani reported.

“Many analysts are saying that there will be no dominant party. This is worrying.

“If there is no party that can secure over 112 seats, there will be instability,” he was quoted as saying.

He stressed the importance of having a dominant party to lead the government after the polls.

Asked if the new alliance he was referring to was similar to the one that made up the current administration, Ismail said that would depend on the number of seats won by the different parties.

The current government comprises representatives from Barisan Nasional, Bersatu, PAS, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).

  2. If a combination of parties ascribe to similar objectives , be it Ketuanan Melayoo or Social Democracy , it should be possible to form a functioning government.
No need for overbearing 1-party power, which is anyway unattainable today 2022.
