Azmin rubbishes Bersatu-led rival PN meeting

Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali has denied rumours of a Perikatan Nasional supreme council meeting at the party’s headquarters tonight, The Star reported.

"(The poster) is AI and it is fake. Nothing’s happening at the Bersatu headquarters. There is no PN supreme council meeting scheduled and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin never made any such call," Azmin reportedly said.

A poster featuring an AI-generated image of Muhyiddin announcing a separate PN gathering by Bersatu at 8pm today has gone viral on social media.

The Star reported that a statement from Bersatu Youth also urged supporters to arrive an hour earlier, and to wear the coalition’s blue attire.

The Perikatan Nasional supreme council will decide on the use of the coalition’s logo and seat allocations for the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections at a meeting on June 22, said coalition information chief Annuar Musa.

“So far, nothing has been decided on the seat allocations, as it is something that has to be determined by the PN supreme council.

“Hence, there is no need for any speculations or assumptions that someone wants to contest using a different flag or oust Bersatu (from PN),” Utusan Malaysia reported him as saying.

Annuar added that there is no issue with Bersatu remaining in PN, as long as the party does not breach the coalition’s regulations.
