“UMNO pushing for PH to underperform in next GE”

“UMNO pushing for PH to underperform in next GE”

A PROMINENT blogger who was recently arrested in Thailand for comments on Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim thinks UMNO is doing everything for Pakatan Harapan (PH) to fail in the next general election (GE).

In a post published by The Vibes, blogger Murray Hunter said UMNO’s game plan requires PH to underperform, creating space for Deputy PM Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to emerge as a contender as the future PM.

He also said that UMNO winning the most seats would allow Zahid to nurture a coalition and strengthen his claim to the prime ministership.

“UMNO requires PH to perform poorly in the coming general election to achieve the above. However, this doesn’t discount Anwar from still being able to come up and obtain a second term as prime minister,” said Hunter.

He said if UMNO wins more seats than other Malay parties, Zahid will have the upperhand.

“If that occurs, then Zahid would be the ‘natural’ nominee to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim to become the PM.

“If UMNO comes in second to PAS in the number of seats won, which is more likely, then it will be a matter of negotiation to determine which party would nominate their representative for the position of PM.

“In this situation, it would be Zahid’s ability to be able to pull together a coalition to create a government that may give him the credence to be the one considered as the prime ministerial candidate in a coalition put forward to the YDPA to approve,” added Hunter.

He further added that the party expects a hung parliament and aims to capitalise by forming alliances.

For Anwar to remain as PM after the next GE, he must lead PH to at least 65 seats to be the largest grouping in the new parliament.

In this position, it would be expected that Anwar would be requested by the YDPA to form a new government.

“If Anwar can muster those numbers, which is very possible, integrity will allow Zahid to support Anwar as PM once again.

“GE16 is going to be a tight election,” he said. — May 9, 2026

A trans Indian migrant who arrived in the UK a few years ago and is not a citizen or permanent resident was elected to the Scottish parliament as a member of the woke Green Party. Scotland allows non-citizens to become elected to office.

  2. Truly a Miracle of Epic Proportions, like Musa parting the Red Sea…..

In the midst of “genocide”, “famine”, “blockade”, “zero aid”, Falastinos find the energy to run the marathon, as reported by Al Jezebel so it must be true….

Marathon draws 13,000 runners globally to amplify unity and resilience amidst escalating violence in Gaza and West Bank.
Thousands run Palestine marathon under shadow of Israel’s war on Gaza

    Published On 8 May 2026

The tenth Palestine International Marathon has been run in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, with a parallel race held in Gaza after a two-year hiatus caused by Israel’s war on the Strip.

The 42km race began at 6am local time (03:00 GMT) on Friday, with thousands of Palestinian and international runners gathering at the traditional starting point, the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

Marathon coordinator Itidal Abdul Ghani said this year’s race carries a message of “the unity of the homeland,” with runners on both sides of the Israeli separation regime taking part in simultaneous events. A separate 5km race was organised in central Gaza, running from Wadi Gaza Bridge northwards.

Organisers also staged a virtual marathon in several countries between 17 and 21 April, attracting more than 5,000 participants from 88 countries. Overall, the number of runners exceeded 13,000, including 2,523 in Gaza and about 1,000 foreign participants from 75 countries.

The event featured multiple categories, including the full marathon, a 21km half marathon, a 10km race and a 5km family run, allowing participation by professional athletes, amateurs and families. It is organised by the Palestinian Higher Council for Youth and Sports, the Palestinian Olympic Committee and Bethlehem Municipality.

Selling Land to Israelis: A Capital Crime in the Palestinian Authority

    Akiva Van Koningsveld
    February 2, 2021

The Palestinian Authority (PA) over the past week has reportedly ramped up its campaign against doing business with Israelis. On January 27, Ramallah reportedly ordered the closure of a Palestinian-owned cement factory accused of coordinating with Jewish communities located beyond the pre-1967 borders. Meanwhile, a Bethlehem court convicted a Palestinian man to 15 years of hard labor in prison for attempting to sell land to an Israeli.

Indeed, the PA considers selling land in the West Bank, including the eastern part of Jerusalem, to Jews a heinous crime that in some cases warrants the death penalty. By outlawing such transactions, including through fatwas, the PA has tried to stop what it calls the “Judaization of the Palestinian lands.” Those violating the prohibition have reportedly been subject to extrajudicial killings.

  4. But in Isaac, anyone can sell land to Ishmaels, they can own land freely like a full Citizen.

    So Where Is The Apartheid?

Under Palestinian Authority (PA) law, selling land to Israelis or Jews is considered a crime of treason, and the death penalty is a legal punishment for this offense. Here are the key details regarding this law and its application:

Legal Basis: In 1997, the PA declared that selling land to Jews is a crime punishable by death. This is often enforced under a 1960s Jordanian law, which the PA applies, forbidding the sale of land to an "enemy".

Definition of Crime: The Palestinian leadership views selling land to Israeli settlers as a treasonous act, calling it "national treason" and more dangerous than collaborating with Israeli intelligence.

Application & Executions: While the death penalty is on the books for this crime, the PA President has not formally approved or signed off on any executions for it in recent years, with many suspects instead being sentenced to life in prison or hard labor.

Vigilante Action: In addition to official legal proceedings, Palestinians suspected of selling land to Jews often face severe danger, including vigilante killings or, historically, being denied burial in traditional cemeteries.Toughened Penalties: In 2014, PA President Mahmoud Abbas reportedly toughened laws, elevating the penalty for selling land to "enemies" to life imprisonment with hard labor. While the law exists, in practice, legal punishments are often converted to, or commonly result in, long-term imprisonment rather than immediate execution.

  5. All Politics Is Local.

Wanker Keir Starmer, 6th May 2022:

“This is a big turning point for us. We’ve sent a message to the PM. Britain deserves better.”

So when the Tories lost 485 council seats and 11 councils, Boris should resign.

When Labour lose 1,493 council seats and 38 councils, Starmer won’t. 🥴

  7. Gordon Brown sold 395 tonnes of our gold reserves at the bottom of the market, and - stupidly - told the market in advance.

Gold has since risen 1500% and the gold he sold would be worth £40 billion more today.

Now Starmer brings him back as his Finance Envoy.

    A sick joke.

  8. How About Bolehland's First Nobel Prize?

She was born the seventh of nine children in Kuantan.

Her father was a public servant who got transferred all over the country, so she grew up moving between small towns.

Her mother never finished school. But her mother worked harder than anyone she knew, and believed education was everything.

That belief sent Swee Lay Thein to medical school at Universiti Malaya. She graduated in 1975.

Then she moved to the UK and spent the next 20 years chasing one stubborn question. Why do some patients with blood disorders suffer terribly, needing transfusions their whole lives, while others barely feel sick?

The answer was hidden in a gene. Babies are born producing a special kind of hemoglobin that protects them. Then the body flips a switch and stops making it.

Swee Lay wanted to know what controlled that switch. If you could keep it on, you could save millions of lives.

It took her decades. She travelled across the UK collecting blood samples from families. She flew to Malawi to study a single family with 270 members across seven generations. She hit dead ends. She kept going.

In 2007, she and her team found the gene. They called it BCL11A.

That discovery led to Casgevy, the first FDA-approved CRISPR therapy for sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia. A real cure. Already changing real lives around the world.

Last month, Dr Swee Lay Thein stood on a stage in Los Angeles and accepted the Breakthrough Prize, often called the Oscars of Science.

She is the first Malaysian-born scientist to ever win it.
In her speech she said, "As a child hanging out with my older brothers, playing on old railway tracks in Malaysia, I never imagined being here today."

She dedicated the moment to her mother. The woman who never finished school.

A girl from Kuantan. A mum who believed in education even though she never got one herself. A daughter whose work is now saving lives around the world.

    That is a Malaysian story.

Tahniah, Dr Swee Lay Thein. We see you. We are proud. 🇲🇾
