AMANAH president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, popularly known as Mat Sabu, expressed his confidence in the unity government's ability to continue governing Malaysia after the 16th General Election (GE16). According to him, the support from the states currently under the government's control will play a crucial role in securing victory.

"I am confident that we can win again to continue ruling after GE16 because we have significant support in Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Federal Territories, and Penang. Based on the political developments and the prevailing atmosphere in these states, I believe there will be a sufficient majority to form the government," Mat Sabu announced during the inauguration of the 2023 Amanah Youth Convention in Bangsar.

He further emphasized that the government would garner support from civil servants if it remains stable until the next general election. Mat Sabu attributed the civil servants' unwavering support to opposition campaigns that propagated a change in regime following the August state elections.

"They were led to believe by the opposition, who claimed that the government would be overthrown after the state elections. They made bold claims, such as a leader having seen Prophet Muhammad in his dream. Although Amanah, DAP, or UMNO supporters may not believe such claims, for certain civil servants, the person making these statements holds immense religious significance, and their minds were influenced by these statements," Mat Sabu explained.

However, Mat Sabu acknowledged that the voting pattern among civil servants had slightly altered after observing that there were no changes in the administration at both state and federal levels. In some areas, more civil servants have begun voting for Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions, as they perceived them to provide stability.

Mat Sabu also reiterated that Amanah would endeavor to campaign and convince voters that the PH-BN government does not pose a threat to the Malay-Muslim communities. The party aims to dispel any concerns or doubts regarding the government's commitment to safeguarding the interests of the Malay-Muslim population.

As GE16 approaches, Mat Sabu's remarks reflect the party's strategical outlook and its efforts to secure support from key states and civil servants. The unity government will rely on its strongholds and the conviction that it can effectively govern to maintain its position and continue leading the country.

  1. GE16... UMNO will split away and refuse to Cooperate with Harapan after parliament is dissolved.

Many , if not Most in UMNO pine for the Uber Malay confederation of Muafakat Nasional.

Combined with the disenchantment and even outright revolt from the Nons for being sidelined, Harapan will lose Very badly in the GE16.
