Please spare the couple a thought.
Instead of continuing with the negativities spread and perpetuated by the politicians in this country, the couple embodies the spirit of Muhibbah.
They are the epitome of the diversity of Malaysia.
They are unity in real life.
Not unity preached by the politicians, which in reality are verbal diarrhea disguised as fake attempts to unite the people.
Mastering the Cantonese dialect have proven beneficial for the couple as they can reached out and sell their food to Malaysians of all races.
Please do not misunderstand this to imply that Malaysians of Chinese race does not patronize a Malay food stall if the vendor does not speak other languages other than Bahasa Malaysia.
I love my nasi lemak, nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, nasi kukus and the kueh very much and I do goes around hunting for good nasi dagang.
In fact, if you viewed the video, knowing another language seems to make the couple confidence in plying their trade.
And I am sure that it also comes in handy when they source for their products from other non Malay traders or shops.
Their ability to converse in Cantonese has really opened doors for them.
This is what makes Malaysia special, our identity as a melting pot of cultures.
Unity practiced in real life amongst the ordinary rakyat.
Not those fake themes of unity espoused by the politicians.
The video on them was not of their own choosing.
The couple did not seek publicity for their own.
The couple was just making an honest living for their family.
The person who made the video and viral it possibly was doing it out of fun and with no ill intention.
The couple did not represent and claimed that the claypot chicken rice they sold is halal.
Claypot chicken rice is commonly consumed amongst Malaysians be it Chinese or Indians.
You seldom find a non Chinese selling this.
It is normally located in a standalone shop or as a stall in a coffeeshop that sells a variety of other hawker fares.
Generally, it is sold in the evening and those who consumed it take that as their dinner servings.
Except for the main ingredient which is marinated chicken, the contents varied depending on the shops or stalls selling it.
And it is normally cooked over charcoal fire in a claypot.
If we had bothered to read and view the viral video of the couple who sells claypot chicken rice in Kuala Lumpur, the person who made the video was expressing his surprise firstly to find the couple, a non Chinese, selling the claypot chicken rice and taking the orders conversing fluently in Cantonese, one of the several Chinese dialects.
There was never an instance where the maker of the video was recommending or commented on the claypot chicken rice.
Neither the maker nor the couple represented or hold themselves out that the claypot chicken rice they made and served was halal and that their small stall has a halal certification.
Just because the couple is Muslims, the general public assumed that the food they served is halal just like everyone is assuming that the burger stalls at the roadside in most townships are halal just because those operating such stalls are Malays and Muslims.
Have some heart.
Many of these small stalls does not have Halal certification as the cost and logistics of obtaining and maintaining it running the place at all times with the required number of muslim staff in attendance.
If the people have doubts or are concerned, you have to choice not to go into the shop.
It is a choice and the choice is yours.
Those who point out and questioning the ingredients the couple used in the food they prepared justified their action by claiming that they are doing a great service in warning others from committing a sin if they unknowingly consume the rice.
Their actions had caused the couple to close their shop for several days.
If the closure is permanent, the couple and their children whom they have to feed and clothe will have lost their only source of income.
Are these people who believed they have done a good deed for other fellow Muslims, contribute and continue to feed and clothe the couple and their kids thereafter for the rest of their life?
The couple did not steal or rob from the tax payers unlike most of the politicians and their cronies.
They conduct themselves and their business in a honest way that brings no harm to the country nor to other fellow Malaysians and the generations thereafter unlike the corruption committed by the politicians and their cronies which not only hurt the present generation but several generations in the future.
Luckily they master conversational Cantonese.
If the Muslims have concerns and stop patronizing the shop after this, they will still have the non Muslims to support them.
Dear fellow Malaysians, whether you are Malay, Chinese or Indian, we have to unite for the future of Malaysia, to progress together to live a peaceful and happy life.
We can’t be divided on our own.
United we stand, divided we fall.
The politicians are already doing their utmost best to divide the people.
Do not join in the games the politicians played in dividing us.

The crux of the issue was the seller's use of the cooking wine, which is haram. It was glaringly used. The Muslim diners didn't question other aspects of food preparation, like whether the chicken was sembelih or just 'potong'.
